I reserved my 32GB iPhone 4 from the Regent Street Apple Store on Wed June 30. Just got my notice now that it's available for pickup. Just under 3 weeks.

Thought I'd post just in case others were curious about wait times on the priority list

Not sure if this has been posted yet but here are the T-Mobile tariffs for anyone that wanted to know them, personally I am very disappointed and come Monday I will be requesting my PAC from and moving else where.

What do you guys think??

T-mobile have now tweaked their handset prices since the initial announcement...
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/coming-soon/iphone4/

All the handsets are now a bit cheaper depending on which model/tariff with the exception of the cheapest 16Gb model on the £25 tariff which has gone up £20?!? Biggest saving now is the 16Gb/£35 which gets a £70 price cut to £119

Still no further news on availability/upgrades etc despite them saying a further email was 'imminent'

I got mine today from Tesco Ilkeston store. :) I had been ringing customer services trying to set up and old handset whille I waited, & just happened to ask when the next delivery would be. They rang the store for me said today so I went over thismorning. They had a delivery last night - of ONE iphone  one??? what's the point in that???? Anyway I was the fortunate customer and I love it :D

Edit to say no reception problems - have been walking around talking indoors :)

I've just had to do this.

I have been told that once I have returned the phone to Apple they will send me a new one within 5 days. I would imagine that this means they have a separate stock of iP4's specifically for faults/exchanges and that these have nothing to do with the phones that are on sale.

You might also like to know that I was told not to return my box or any accessories in the prepaid packaging that they are sending me. I asked him to confirm a couple of times and he said that all they needed was the phone, and that I would literally be receiving only a new iPhone, no box, manuals or accessories.

Hope that helps!

There's something not right here. You have 30 days for an exchange or a full refund - you should take in your box, accessories and receipt and get a brand new unopened iPhone 4, not a refurbished phone!

or a FULL refund of course!

PAYG or contract?

Hello there.

I was emailed yesterday by Apple letting me know my iPhone was ready to collect from the Apple Store. I'm going tonight, but I have a couple of stupid questions first.

1 - Are all iPhones reserved on the priority list SIM-free and unlocked?
2 - Does payment have to be made by the name on the reservation - it's being bought for me, but I'll be there, as well as the cardholder.

Thanks.

i maybe too late but just incase...
they reserve the phone, you then tell them what network you want it on or if you want it sim free

I got the unlocked iPhone 4 from the UK online apple store. Now its asking for a micro sim to activate it. If it is unlocked why does it need activation. Is there a way around this? Lemme know. Thanks.

there is no way around it.

Activation is required, becuase Apple says so. Really, it's becuase they want to keep an eye on it, i.e, so they know that it is being used, and for statistical purposes.

Just becuase it is unlocked, doesn't mean it doesn't need to be activated.

Can you still use any sim card? Like an current sim card cut down?

So where do I get a micro-sim. Do any of the carriers provide pay-as-you-go in micro-sims?

Can someone enlighten me whether you can disable the Three (3) content filter on their SIM only plans for iPhone 4? I remember when I was on Voda I just have to confirm my age but I'm not sure about 3.

It's not that simple with 3. I am struggling to get the correct picture. I just read a post which said you can remove one internet package, and add another same priced package - and that removes the content block.

Is that overall or only on 3G though? I may well be wrong but I was told that the usage in the phones menu shows total set and recieved from both wifi and 3G.

The 'Usage' page clearly says "cellular network data".

Note, though, that if you restored from a previous iPhone backup then it continues the counters until you reset them.

(1.2GB - that's going some! I'm going to guess that the O/P has never used it on WiFi at home.)

I just phoned Orange and they said that they take no part in allowing you to unlock the phone, either after 12 months or after the 24 month contract is over. They said you have to do it via a 3rd party and that would void the warranty, but that they would not send you an unlock code at any time, meaning that if you left Orange after the contract, the iPhone would be useless.

Their reluctance to enable official 'unlock'ing of iPhones is very strange. The process actually involves the operator notifying Apple, who then set something in their systems. Next time you synchronise with iTunes, it asks you to put in a different-network SIM and it unlocks the phone. All very simple, straightforward, and painless to the customer.

I don't know how the notification to Apple takes place - perhaps that's the bit that requires some project/development/implementation effort. But there's no typing in of long unlock codes (last time I got one from Vodafone, for another handset, it was wrong anyway. They were stumped, and I had to take it to my lock 'unlock' shop.)

NB. O2 seem to be one of the few networks anywhere who are actually using that procedure (some elsewhere in the EU are). AT&T haven't ever offered to unlock even the first-gen iPhones.

There are 2 in London:

Regent St. (Oxford Circus Tube Station or Picaddilly Tube)
Westfield (Shepards Bush Tube station)

And there are a few dotted around London:

Kingston (Bentall Centre - S.W. London)
Lakeside Shopping Centre
Bluewater

Kingston is pretty easy to get to from Central London, just take an overground train from Waterloo, 40 mins or so. If you get your phone here you could continue sightseeing by going to Hampton Court Palace and take pictures with your new iPhone. :)

Lakeside and Bluewater are quite far out, probably 50-60 mins by car from Central London. Not sure how you'd get there by train, check www.tfl.gov.uk and use the journey planner.

Oh so there is only 2 conveniently close to London itself?
I don't want to travel out somewhere for a long time just for a phone I might miss when I go home :) I have an entire city to explore here.

Make that 3:

Regent St. (Oxford Circus [Central/Bakerloo/Victoria] or Piccadilly Circus [Bakerloo/Piccadilly])
Westfield (White City [Central], Shepherd's Bush [Central], Wood Lane [Hammersmith & City] or Shepherd's Bush [Overground])
Brent Cross (Brent Cross [Northern] or Hendon Central [Northern])

All really easy to get to; all have long Priority List queues (particularly for 32GB iPhone 4s). 24th June at Westfield, iPhone 4 on 18th July. 25th June at Regent St., iPhone 4 on 12th July. Brent Cross weren't even taking Priority List orders for a week or two.

Unwanted Apple iphone 4 32gb reservation

I have a unwanted reservation for IP4 32gb to be picked up from London Brent Cross today and tomorrow if anyone is interested.

:)

Hey all,

I've tried a few stores, but I am trying to get another iPhone unlocked. What's the updated word on stock levels, as I feel I'm getting the blunt treatment from these Apple numpties in the stores

Cheers,
