I got the black bumper on launch day for £25, that's now been refunded, then i got the free case app and ordered the HD speck case.

So that's one free black bumper, £25 back into my account with another free case on the way (confirmation email received).

Cheers :apple:

Are people supposed to be happy that you've taken a free case that you weren't entitled to and someone else could have had?

I called up Apple to ask how the refund for the black bumper would work. The 'genius' said i should come to the shop so they can put the refund back into my debit card (nonsense as it happened automatically in the end).

He then said i could then apply for a free case by downloading the app from my iPhone 4 :confused::confused:

I then got an email a few hrs later saying i was entitled to a free case. Well at this point i felt I'd oblige Apple and treat myself to another free case.

Do i feel bad about any of this?????? No ********* way :D

O2 data capping.

I have heard on the grapevine that O2 will be capping data at 500mb for existing contracts. People have been receiving texts to notify them. I am on the simplicity tariff with unlimited data and I am now worried that I will be getting the text soon too.

If so, I may think of changing carriers.

Thing is, people have to remember that even if the network phones were unlocked, it's likely they would only allow for contract customers anyway, who would be staying with the network, so there is no difference.

Have you guys got your phone insured?

Who with and for how much? I'm looking for a policy that will cover theft, accidental damage etc and for as cheap as possible. Orange were offering a policy for £12/month but I thought that was a bit ridiculous as I didn't want to pay £144 for a years worth of insurance.

I cant see if happening.
I won't matter for simplicity contracts, but if they do that for "normal" contracts, then they give the person the right to cancel the contract without penalty. It will mean them losing a lot of money.

Sorry if I don't read the 500+ pages this thread has :=)
Just a quick question: does Orange UK sell the iphone 4 locked?

All iPhones are unlocked to start with, but become locked when activated to a particular network (the exception being if it has been bought SIM free from Apple).

you mean when you activate it for the first time?
because i've restored my locked iphone 3G and tried to activate it by using other sim cards and it doesn't work! :)

Tomorrow will mark my twenty-second day on the White City list  I'm now beginning to get desparate and pay over the odds on ebay just to get my hands on one!! Hope I'm not going to set a record on the list - what is it? I don't want a contract as I wouldn't need the phone part that much!
Do you know which pay and go tariff is the best for someone who doesn't use the phone that much but would use a lot of data?

Natwest does cover everything damage/theft and lost etc for £7 a month and excess is 25 on ur 1st claim and 50 on your 2nd :)

Ask Natwest for advantage blue phone insurance

Could someone post a link to the spreadsheet which compares the contracts and other options etc

I'm currently on the sim only orange tariff at 25/mth with my 3GS (just sold it), o2 doesn't have great reception here but I'm looking at getting a sim free iPhone maybe, cost works out more if you're paying for the handset and then the orange sim only deal.

Any recommendations?

Has anyone ordered online from CPW? They said it would be delivered tomorrow but I've turned into a page refreshing addict and so far the status still only says received. Gaaah!

Personally i'm just getting a SIM unlocked one and then going with Tesco Mobile PAYG SIM only plan. They triple the top up value and give you 1GB of data. They use the O2 network however so might not be to your liking. Was on Vodafone PAYG but everytime I top up I lose credit even with no services/data being used so don;t trust them. Whats the point of PAYG if you have to spend it all asap so you don't lose it? They also charge extra for the internet which Tesco include.

For that price you may as well insure all your other possessions. I think I pay about £100/year to Endsleigh for contents insurance, which covers £15k worth of possessions and outside my home, £1500 is covered against theft. I think I would have had to add £40 more for accidental damage protection.

So what is the best and cheapest insurance for an iPhone 4? Natwest one at £7/month? When my cousin told me he gets charged £14 a month i laughed, because I presumed you could get cheaper - but most insurance seems to be around the £12 mark for the iPhone 4.

So who has some best offers for iPhone 4 insurance in the UK?
