The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

If anyone's still waiting on Tesco they seem to have 16gb ones in stock at the moment. I just ordered one for delivery tomorrow.

Yes yes, its SIM free for life, so you can keep updating the firmware and travel the world, pop in as many SIM cards as you want and they will all work.

if you dont live in europe i will only advise you to buy the phone from the online store and not from the apple store. Alot of people could not activate there phones when they went to there home country (outside europe)

alot of threads are there in apple.com/forums
 
My iPhone was supposed to be delivered today, but on the TNT website it still says that its in transit from Arnhem hub.

Was anyone else's supposed to arrive today?

not true. if it is simfree which can be bought in apple store in uk, it will be easily activated any time, any where.

Uhh? Damn Tesco!!!!
I've been calling them up every morning at 8am and get the pre-recorded message that "due to unprecedented demand the iPhone 4 is currently out of stock". I even called them this morning at 8:30am.

Is there a specific number you called? I'm currently calling the 0800 433 4994 number?

Phone that no and ignore the iphone 4 "out of stock" message. Yesterday they had around 300 in for yesterday and today. Apparently, they've still got around a hundred in so you still might get one if you're lucky!!!
 
I'm gonna try tesco in the morning, anyone know what the earliest time to ring them is?

Il just ignore the iphone is out of stock message if some people here are having luck.

I nearly went for a htc mini HD today, but held off I want the darn iPhone 4

apple.com=sim free can be used across the globe and with any carrier
store=europe locked

No wonder you can't get IPhone 4 in the UK without a long wait, half the world seems to be buying the damn things from here and shipping them home :mad:

Guys i emailed tesco, they gave me this number 0800 022 4030.

apparently they are getting stock this week
 
Tesco had 140 in this morning through the phone system... and im F***ed off big time...

I tried ringing 1st time to realise that my bank was £7 short for the transaction (lent my mam £100) (NEVER LEND MONEY EVER AGAIN!)

So went to bank.. didnt open till 10am.... finally put in an extra £100 had enough money...

I ring up tesco... going through the order all fine... until the end... transaction failed.... LLOYDS TSB STOPPED IT THINKING IT WAS FRAUD! so the guy from tesco (who was a really good help actually) said hed ring me back in 15 mins after the call so i could tell lloyds to stop blocking the payment...

By this time 88 phones remained.. I rang up lloyds and mid way through the tesco lad rings me back... (10 mins later ....) and all 88 had been sold!

I am so annoyed.... This is the second time Lloyds TSB has blocked a phone payment... for something crucial. Makes me want to switch to someone else.


So yeah... tesco had loads of iPhone 4 16gb's in this morning but now are all sold.

Rage!
 
Hi ordered my iphone on the 14th july, still not yet shipped, but the shipping method changed yesterday from merge in transit to Fast Ship (EMEA) anyone know why its change, I do have a bumper and a dock on my order also I wonder if thats anything to do with it thanks.

IM SOO PISSED OFF ASWEL!!!

I called up and everything went through except the bank payment. I had enough in there for a payment but the stupid ******** bank thought it was fraud and flagged it. The Tesco guy said he would call me back in 30mins and told me that he couldn't hold stock so the quicker the better. I called up the bank, sorted it out which only took 10 mins, so I thought I'd give Tesco a call instead of waiting, both times the guys on the other end said that they had just sold the last few in stock.

I'm, guessing the guy I initially spoke to (nice guy) would have rung me back, but since the stock has depleted, I suppose I can sit here all day waiting without a call. Infact, if he is to call, i should have got the call 5mins ago.

Pissed off at my bank!

EDIT: Just got a call from the guy explaining he didn't call back due to them selling out within minutes of me hanging up but called now just to honor his word (now that's what you call good at his job). But he did say that because he took my details, I would be called the next time they have stock.
 
Well my phone is currently sitting waiting for me at the CPW as CPW said they couldn't deliver to my work address :mad:. It may not be white but at least I now (almost) have one. However I still have to nail this data roaming thing before I can sign on the dotted line.

Also, how long are number transfers taking at the moment? I'm going from o2 to Vodafone.

Are you with Lloyds TSB? -_- sucks doesnt it? .... The guy said he would ring my mobile when they hear about new stock... so il give you a PM if I hear anything so that we can both get our hands on one

Yeh it sucks bigtime! No, I'm not with Lloyds, I'm with Santander, so it appears its not just Lloyds that are a pain in the arse :mad:

Yeh, I'll deffo PM you if I get the call before you.
