Went into Tesco Leicester today and managed to walk out with one of their three 32Gb phones! :D

But I have the death grip issue :(

Does anyone know if Apple will replace the phone or if it's a choice between having the free case or getting a refund?

The latter

Hi, If I buy direct from an O2 store, will they transfer my current number (O2 network) and provide me with a MicroSIM?

Cheers.

Looking to get an iPhone 4 32GB tomorrow at Covent Garden/Regent Street..

Will this be possible, in terms of stock.
I'm going early in the morning as I have work til late afterwards..

iPhone 4 32GB tomorrow at Covent Garden/Regent Street..

How likely am I going to be able to achieve this?

Thanks :)

They don't do priority lists anymore so if you don't order online, then walking into a store and hoping for the best is the only other way to get one. So I suggest you go for it.

Also asking Apple store employees anything about stock levels is like talking to a wall - pointless. They seem to all differ with regards to answers for the same question about stock availability.

Please post back and let us know what happened - would be interested to see how Regent Street store is doing this week.

Anyone here from Cardiff who might want a 16gb iPhone 4 at retail price?

I'm having trouble sending it back to Apple, as the courier keeps ringing an old number for some reason.

Hey - Thanks for the words of wisdom.

I went today, hoping for something awesome to happen, but that was me being too optimistic.

Went to both Covent Garden and Regent Street at 1pm and they both said no to both the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4's. :(

I think I went a little too late as they said they had some this morning.

So i've just ordered a 32GB one online just now, I'd rather know its coming, rather than getting excited about the prospect of getting one through a walk in.

Thanks for your help (Y) :)

3 weeks shipping..I hope it will come earlier. :D

You can do it yourself on their website I think...
Thanks.

I rung up Apple Store Birmingham (Bullring) yesterday, they told me they were sold out.

I phoned this morning at 11:15am and they told me they had some in early this morning, but they're now sold out.

So, I rung my 2 local O2 stores - 1 was completely sold out and the other only had 32GB's in stock.

WTF!?! almost 3 months later and they're still dead hard to get a hold of! I hope this isn't the case when the iPhone 5 is released. How does every human being not own an iPhone 4!?

What's the average waiting time when ordering online? It's says 3 weeks, but surely it doesn't take that long?

I'm interested in this.
When I spoke the the Apple Chat rep, they said "within 3 weeks".
So hopefully..within 2 weeks haha or is that wishful thinking again? :p

Definitely 3, unless I'm unlucky! Ordered mine on the 10th of August, it's prepared for shipping now. I imagine I'll get it on wednesday so that's pretty much 3 weeks.

EDIT: Just had the delivery email through now, so it's on it's way.

Happy to help! =) Thanks for the trip report LOL!!

To be honest, if you aren't standing at the store when it opens - then it is pretty much 0% chance of picking one up. I assumed you were going to queue really early from work.

I think its just better to order online and wait it out. The store situation in London is still very chaotic.

Were there queues at either store?

THANK YOU!!! Thats what I'd like to know? Its been friggin 2 months and we still have queues of people outside stores. WTF?!!! I never remember the stock situation being this bad for any other models. You still cannot walk into any London store and get a phone to this day. Every store has a queue early morning.

Yep, it's the same in Birmingham too.

I asked my mate to pop into the Bullring store today while I was at work to reserve one for me - He was told they no longer do reservations. The guy told him that they've had morning delivery's in the past 3 days, so your best bet is to ring up at 9:30am when they open, and IF they do have stock, rush down to the store ASAP, as they normally all sell out within an hour.

Bloody ridiculous. 3 months after release ffs!

do you wanna know why it still says "3 weeks" on the website? it's because many retailers from the gulf like Saudi Arabia and the UAE are buying thousands from there and selling them here for 700-1200 pounds.it will probably take one more month for things to get easier in the UK that's when the iPhone is officially released in the gulf.

That's really interesting, what's your source for this?

Glad to hear that - I ordered mine on the evening of the 12th so hope this bodes well....

Ordered mine yesterday (came crawling back from Android!) from Apple's online store and it's given me an estimated delivery date of 22nd September. I'll still keep trying my local store (Bluewater) in the meantime in the hope of getting one sooner but it's nice knowing I've got one on order if I'm unsuccessful.

There are plenty of o2, Orange and Vodafone shops with 32gbs in stock. Just seems to be the unsubsidised and unlocked ones from Apple which are harder to get hold of.

And plenty of Vodafone 32GB ones? No way?! I trawled (sp?) up and down London yesterday even checking the Vodafone stores and they said the only iPhone 4 32GBs they had were ones were for people starting a contract. :(

As my second plan was to buy a PAYG Vodafone iPhone 4 32GB, as I already have a Vodafone contract.
