How did you get them (3) to remove the filter?

I just repeatedly pestered the moderator on the Three blog. :)
Remained polite, but kept pressing the point. Eventually they got in touch and fixed it.

The moderator hinted that they are looking at a new solution. I think if enough people make a fuss, they will get rid of the stupid thing.

Got my iPhone 4 yesterday, just walked in to my local Orange shop and they had some in stock. Signed up to a 24mth contract £35/mth.

Honestly the best phone I've had in years, it does everything I need it to speedily. I can replicate the 'death grip' but it takes a good few minutes to lose signal and I don't usually hold the phone like that anyway.

I finally succeeded in badgering Three to remove the stupid content filter.

Very happy with the service now.

The free tethering is a welcome bonus, and by running iTether on my iPad, I can now get a really fast connection on that too.

i cannot access jailbreakme.com on my iphone via 3 as it says site blocked. i have the internet max add on.

By default Three's ISP has an internet content filter for "adult" content.
This includes..
http://www.b3ta.com/
and even
http://www.dlisted.com/ - which is just a celebrity gossip site.

Half the internet is missing. And instead you are redirected to a Three paid porn portal. "to protect the children".

Everyone should complain about this until they remove the stupid thing.

This does not affect WiFi. So if you want to jailbreak your phone, go right ahead.

when i'm on the 3 network, jailbreakme.com does not work - it redirects to a site says "site blocked" by 3 - can you try this too, see what you get?

i've just tried the 2 sites you have listed and yes, i get redirected to the porn filter.

i must say, i've not come across this filter on any of the sites i have visited since being on 3, but i have been told by a 3 CSR that having the "x-series silver" add-on is unrestricted while the "internet max" add on has restrictions?

Anyone had any luck recently with Tesco Mobile and iPhone 4's?

I've been calling every morning for the past few weeks (since they were last in stock) - not had any luck so far.

None of the people I have spoken to at Tesco have been able to give me any dates for new stock either.

Anyone else had any luck?

Anyone had any luck recently with Tesco Mobile and iPhone 4's?

Website says out of stock on pretty much everything!

had a call from my local Tesco store in Lichfield, that they had an iphone 32gb for me, i had been on their waiting list. Think he had four 32gb and two 16gb.

he had been told he would be getting 15 a week but some weeks got none. Also my friend got a call from the loughborough store saying they had a 32gb for him.

cheers

It seems that some Tesco stores are now allowing people to reserve an iPhone if they are expecting a delivery.... after ringing stores in the area for two weeks, to be told that they don't have any iPhones in stock, and don't know when they will receive a delivery, I rang my local store yesterday afternoon (Monday) to be told they had a delivery due in that evening, around 9 or 10 PM, and that they were expecting 1 32GB iPhone 4, and if I was interested he could reserve it for me. So I left my name and phone number, and, true to his word, I had a phone call at 12:30 today saying that they had received the iPhone that was reserved for me, and could hold it for 1 hour. I asked if they could hold it for two hours, but I was told they couldn't as 'we're not really supposed to be doing this anyway' (i.e holding / reserving an iPhone for me). So I got there an hour later and picked up my iPhone!
I think they also had some 16GB's in stock, as when collecting I was asked did I reserve a 16GB or 32GB, and then the assistant went and got my phone, and marked my name off the computer.
Brilliant customer service!!

Yay, mines been shipped.
Oredred on July 29th, original ship date of August 19th and delivery date of the 23rd. So hopefully will get it by the weekend :)

have you subscribed to their "email me when back in stock"?

Yes, on day one, not heard anything since the email on the 15th of July - I've even been back and re-added myself a couple of times. I can't even find the option on their site anymore - is it still running?

It seems that some Tesco stores are now allowing people to reserve an iPhone if they are expecting a delivery...

Since when!? I gave up on my 'local' phone shop a while ago as it seemed like people were getting better luck ordering over the phone - I was under the impression that they had never been allowed to reserve phones for you.

I'm not quite sure if it's just that I'm crap at the 'Tesco iPhone Lottery' or whether everyone else is getting information from them in some other way that I've not heard about... Either way, I'm getting really tired of calling them every day and hearing the same thing - it's been long enough now, surely they must have some stock?

Can anyone offer some advice?!

Yeah the whole Tesco situation is becoming a bit of joke. Its like they literally get 3-4 phones a week or something when even the Apple store are now doing walk-ins.

You can't order online at Tesco and just wait, like you can with Apple, clearly they don't want our money that badly! You now cant even get them to email you when they get stock in. At least the other big networks all have phones available if you are willing to go with a contract or if you want a SIM free contract phone - you can even walk into an Apple store and pick one up these days - it just Tesco that never ever seem to have any. Its coming up to 2 months now.

If there is ever a really bad way to sell iPhones - Tesco surely know how to do it in style!

Just my luck.
I'm in work during the day, so got it to be delivered to my girlfriends house.
She had to quickly go out this morning for a short amount of time, and sods law they try to deliver it then. Gotta wait till tomorrow now.

Make sure you call them to get them to take off your Orange safegaurd, otherwise you won't be able to get onto forums or chat rooms via safari on 3g.

i think you can do this online also. Expecting my ip4 from orange (upgrade) this week. mm loyalty.
You can, but I done it over the phone for some reason, I guess I couldn't be botherd to type my details into the computer and find the correct page, plus if I actually talk to someone from Orange it means I can ask question if any pop in my head and I get a better feeling of service from my £35 per month.
