No. PAYG is different to being on a contract. The bolt on is only for a fixed period isn't it? You need to be on a 3GS or simplicity contract to keep the unlimited data. You could go a buy a simplicity tarrif to get the unlimited data given you only have a couple of months left.

Thought as much. It's a 12 month free Internet deal, yeah.

I'm upgrading to the iPhone 4 ASAP and I'm leaving O2 (I had a big rant explaining why earlier in the thread, go through my posts if you're interested), so I'm not bothering with simplicity. I'm just hoping the other networks have decent PAYG deals, whichever one pulls it off the best is about to get half a grand from me :D

Anyone know where to look to see the price of simplicity plans that o2 are offering now? (as in still comes with unlimited data)

Check the O2 site.

How about the networks send out some prices so the people who are pre ordering actually know the prices.

Yes, I really hope the networks release their prices before pre-ordering starts to give us chance to weigh up the options regarding which network and PAYG/contract.

I just called T-Mobile 2 mins ago before your post and the woman kept saying they had no information at all and to register for updates online.

I then asked if i would be possible in the future to swap my sim card for a micro sim and she was like ' A micro what???????'

Enough said

Probably because the call centers know nothing, I walked past on my way home and read it again T&C's apply is the only additional info.

My friend suggested that they were doing it off their own backs but whatever...

Orange have sent an email to say that they will be in touch on Tuesday with deals of how to pre order. I wonder, are all the networks going to make us wait till Tuesday morning?

Alex

Exact wording on Orange email:

'We’ll be in touch again on Tuesday 15 June to tell you how you can reserve your iPhone 4. So keep your eyes peeled. "

Tell me about it...I pay £35/month for pretty much the same thing :(

Only way we can get out of it is to pay our contracts off.

When I got my contract 18 months ago (I'm in the last month now) I did the sums and for me it didn't work out much different, contract or PAYG, taking into account the extra cost of the phone up front.

As the current 32gb 3GS is £549 on payngo. Do we think this will be the price for the new iPhone 4 in 32gb?

Any thoughts??

So you're paying £360 more over the course of a two year contract?

Remember though, if you buy a 16GB iPhone on your contract you only paid £89 for the handset. On the Simplicity tariff, you'd pay £449 for it. That works out exactly the same price.

You're essentially spreading the cost of the handset over two years.

id normaly go with a contract but this time round the other option is better, plus i can always sell the thing next year and buy the iphone 5 if its anygood, alot of ppl are complaining about being on a contract so i dont think im going to take that route lol.

Do Apple sell contract iPhones? Do they sell them for contract upgrades?

My plan on the 24th, is to queue up at an Apple store, take my PAC with me and try and get one on Vodaphone. Should I fail the credit check or anything for some reason, I'll upgrade with O2. Would this plan work out?

I always worry about credit checks after I was refused some a year ago, though I think the reason for that was that I'd only lived at my current address for a few months? I'm worried if I queue up at a vodafone shop and get refused one, by the time I get to an O2 shop they'll all be gone.

I wonder if when you preorder one with a new contract, if they'll do the contract sign up when you place the preorder? That'd make it much easier!

Can I buy an unlocked iPhone 4 from Apple? If I go to the Apple Store, do I have to get it set up with one of the providers?

The PAYG iPhone can be used with any network... Cant it?:confused::confused:

Dream on lol

The 3GS was £549, reduced to £499 a few days ago.

No, locked to which ever network you chose.

Ah, crap. I wanted to go with GiffGaff by cutting their SIM card to size.

With the 3GS O2 let you unlock it for free if your on contract or £15 if you were on PAYG. Not sure if that's gonna be the case this time though but if they will let you then get it on O2 PAYG then go to GG
