Just sold my 3G 8GB for £255.
Will post it off on monday.. Hope the wait isn't too long for iPhone 4...
For the 3GS last year, which was the way to get the phone on release day with a contract? Thanks.![]()
Just sold my 3GS 16GB for £385! RESULT!!
Oh used? How much were eBay and Paypal fees and what were you left with?
I sold my 16GB 3Gs for £340 cash yesterday.

Last year I went to the Apple Store in Regent Street. Got there around 6.30am, there was not that many people there. I just bought my 3Gs on pay as you go and used it with the sim from my 3G, but they were some people taking out new contracts with O2. Not sure if they were doing upgrades.
Thing is an hour after I had bought my phone I walked past the same store and there was no one waiting.
Might be more people this year, but I don't think its going to be like 2007 or 2008.
Will be interesting to see if any network offers pre orders.

Hi all, good to have a UK thread on here! I was a first time iPhone buyer when the 3G came out. Queued up from 6.30am ish at the Trafford Centre,Manchester(what a nightmare that day was! Got out 8 hours later!)
I never bothered upgrading to the 3GS, since I was still in contract(though I was lucky enough to get one after I dropped my 3G and O2 insurance didn't have any left!
My contract with O2 finished in January, so I've let the contract roll, as I'm reasonably happy with them. Since I didn't upgrade to a 3GS, I'm wondering how it'll work this time round?
Can I upgrade at an Apple store or does it have to be at an O2 store? Will there be a chance to pre-order online with O2 instead? I may not be able to get the day off on launch, otherwise I'd be in line again early doors :-(
Hopefully people that upgraded to the 3GS on day one will have an idea?
Lastly, does anyone have any experience of O2 business accounts? They look similar in price, bur allow you to upgrade every 12 months! You don't have to provide business info, just have to have been with I2 for a while.
Cheers!
It's not worth selling an iPhone. After all, you spend about £800+ on contract and your selling it for £2-300. Might as well keep it. Far more useful or give it to a family member. Lets hope the new iphone 4/4g/hd is out soon!

I'm in the same boat as you, I bought my 3G on launch day in Macclesfield!nice to see a fellow mancunian!
Another question, on My 02 page it states my contract renewal date was Jan 2010 - yet my phone still works fine! Whats up with this? Will I be allowed to upgrade to the 4G when it comes out?
Also I'm planning to sell my 3G before the 4G comes out to get some money. I can manage without my iPhone as I have spare Samsung ones. Should i keep my sim to upgrade to the 4G?
The Jan 2010 just means you have come to an end of your contract, it'll keep rolling until you cancel it, which you can do at anytime with a months notice. You should be fine upgrading, but will have to sign a new 18 month contract, or possible 2 year if they want to bring that in
Keep your sim card, that is yours for your time with O2, whoever you sell it to will have to have their own sim. You'll probably get given a new sim when you upgrade to the 4G as it uses a new microsim.

I walked into an O2 shop on the way home from work about 4.30pm and picked up a 16gb 3GS, all very easy. Think I got the last white one, but they had tons of black ones in stock.
Contrast the 3G debacle with CPW, when orders were going missing/getting accidentally cancelled all over the place. Still managed to get one on release day, ordered over the phone for delivery to store.
Am planning to buy PAYG this time, so need to see how that's going to pan out. If Apple have any sense they'll do what they did with the iPad and sell unlocked, not that I'm optimistic about that.

Yup, having serious withdrawal symptoms here. Using a crappy Samsung thing that looks like a toy phone. think it cost about £15 (about 18 months ago). It came with £10 credit lol.Well, day 2 without my 3G, sent off to O2 Recycle for what should hopefully be £205. Is it possible to suffer from iPhone withdrawal?? Having to use a Nokia n95, don't like it one bit!
