Does anyone know what the return window is for these iPads...is it 14 or 28 or even 7 days?

Should be explained here somewhere:

http://direct.tesco.com/help/directtermsandconditions.aspx

You Going for the refund then are you?

Yeah. I've tried to ignore the stuck pixel but it keeps staring and laughing at me. That, in addition to the light bleed, and the uncertainty that a new one from the currently shipping units will be problem free means the iPad has to go back unfortunately.

Shame too because I was starting to become fond of it. I'll probably pick one up again in a few weeks.

I'm very fond of it too, so I'll keep it for now and hope they get it resolved in the near future. Good luck with your next one.

Cheers. Although i feel like I'm being silly returning something a lot of people are desperately trying to get their hands on.

Maybe. Perhaps this will help. When I initially bought the 1st iPad, it was flawless, but developed (big) dust under the screen after a week or so, Apple swapped it for another. I had 2 brown box replacements following that, both of which went back for the same (worse) problem. Ok, not helping so far perhaps! Anyway, the last time they agreed to send me a brand new retail boxed iPad which is perfect and my wife is now a very proud owner of (she always gets my tech hand me downs!)! I've only had that 2 weeks, Apple have been great with me and now I've taken Apple care out, I know I will get an advance replacement should the Tesco replacement option fail at maybe 3 or 4 months down the line. I wouldn't worry too much and enjoy! I think I've finally got my head around receiving a brown box item, as long as it's A1 :) Just received an iluv gel case that covers the rear. It's grey which totally complements the white ipad plus it's kind of see through so you can still see the Apple logo etc, very pleased feels solid so will def keep now! Cheers.

Maybe I should give the Tesco replacement offer a chance at least. Might get lucky. Will see what they say when I call them to return.

Does the website update when they have stock?
Been checking on and off every couple of hours for the last few days and it always tells me out of stock for all varieties.

To guy who asked about "Every little helps" - it's the tag line for the Tesco advertisements on tv we get in the UK.

Been to the Apple shop today they said I could get a brown box replacement or return to tescos for refund/replacement. He said that the best thing would be to return to Tesco for refund then buy direct from apple that way they will replace it with a retail unit if there are any problems and then I can also test the units in store to find a perfect one. Being collected tomorrow. Mine really wasn't that bad but for £400+ it should be perfect. I would not accept a new TV with backlight bleeding so why should I accept an iPad.
