I've settled on the 42mm Silver Sport with White Band. Depending on how "bright blue" the Blue Leather Loop is, I'll be getting that one as well.
If preorders and try-ons start on the same day, what are the chances of the preorders selling out shortly after midnight before I get a chance to try one on and decide?
I have a question -
I thought that both theWatch Sport and
watch versions come in both regular/silver AND space grey.
Based on the poll, and Apples website, that isn't the case.
Can anyone shed light on it for me? Thanks!
If my initial impressions are true, I'm gettingWatch 48mm space grey with black sport band and will wait for more affordable fancy third party bands.
Chances of it selling out before you try one on are probably pretty high.
They do (ones called space grey, the other, space black), but while the Apple Watch Sport is available in Space Grey with a sports band at a lower price point, the Apple Watch Stainless Steel in Space Black is only available with the Steel Link band that makes it a minimum of $1,049 USD.
This is the same reason I'm going with an Apple Watch Sport in Space Grey 38mm. I wanted the Stainless Steel version in black, but $1k starting is just too much. It's a forced premium as the Steel link on it's own is about $449.
They could have easily provided a black Apple Watch Space Black at $649 with a sport band, even if the process for making it black has a premium cost ($100 over the silver Apple Watch when comparing prices).
That's what I'm afraid of. I'm 99% sure of the model I want, so the plan is to preorder immediately the moment it goes up for preorder online, then stop by at the store later on in the day. If by any chance another model in the store feels better (and preorders have actually sold out), then I'll cancel my preorder and do some good old fashion lining up on launch dayAnyone else in the same boat?
Why isn't that an option? Why can't you purchase the Milanese loop separately?
I wanted the Space Gray 42mm with Black band since the original September event. I remember no one else really wanted it, but now that the prices have been shown everyone is jumping back to the 42mm sport![]()
38mm stainless steel, milanese loop + sport band
What I wanted to do, was to purchase the Watch Sports Silver Aluminum case with the black sports band, and eventually get the Milanese band separately.
Now, that I see that's not an option(Thanks Apple), I'm considering either a), Getting the Watch Sports Silver Aluminum case with the white sports band(I don't want this, but there would be no choice), and purchase an extra black sports band, and then again later purchase the Milanese band.
Then my last choice, would be the Watch Sports Space Grey Aluminum Case with black sports band, and possibly later get the black leather loop band.
I wish that Apple's website let you put different cases and bands together. I've seen the 2 websites that people have made to do this, but they don't include the new black leather loop band.
I really like the leather loops, surprised they're not popular. However they don't come in 38mm size which is the watch I'll be getting.Wow, I'm surprised that the model I want is so unpopular. I'm eyeing the Stone Leather loop with the 42mm SS watch. Only the green and pink sports bands, and the sole Edition vote, have as few votes as the one I'm getting. Guess I'll embrace my uniquenes. My only real fear is that the light colored leather will discolor the same way the leather on the iPhone cases have. I suspect not, since the oils in your hands are not in contact with it the same way a phone case is held. Regardless, I like the contrast of the shiny SS watch and the earthy/rustic leather. I'll prob buy a separate black spots band as a back up for when working out.
Can't decide between that one or Sport with Milanese. They both look good with Milanese and it's cheaper.

You can get a Sport with Milanese. You just have to pay a bit more but I might eventually end up doing that.
Sorry it took me a solid 15 minutes to input all the options haha. It should be up now! I figured this would be a great way to visualize the popularity of the different models!
Wow I'm surprised how popular the space gray sport is, I didn't expect that.
