Battery life on my AW4 has been terrible since the update to 10 and 10.0.1. Yeah, my battery is old, but with 9, I could get all day use.

I usually have it fully charged by 11 at night, wear it to bed and by 9 the next night, would charge again. Can't do that now without a quick charge before the end of the day.

I've unpaired and repaired, setting up as new. Still can't find the heart rate complication, but otherwise I think I've got the watch the way I had it. Charging now.

Apple Watch S5, battery life has been awful since last upgrade ... On Friday I started to wear it at 6am, by 2pm the battery had failed... only activity was a HIIT class..

Thursday I had a 60% went for a run and using it to EarPods and within 20 mins the battery had failed.

Something serious wrong with this IOS update.

For battery, most of the input in this thread has led me to wait until at least summer to go to WatchOS 10 for my AW7. And with the rearrangement of how features are accessible in WatchOS 10 & the inability to change in the settings, maybe never.

I haven't read all 23 pages of this thread but I wanted to add my experience to the pile anyway: I have a Series 4 that had all-day battery life on watchOS 9, installed 10 and could no longer make it from wake up to bedtime without charging. After a few days of frustration, I found a suggestion on Reddit to disable the weather complication and widget. I removed them and also set location permissions for Weather (on my phone) to While Using App only, no widget. This appears to have mostly worked around the battery life issue for now, although it still may be a bit worse than 9. At least it makes it through the day again.

Such a piece of **** update. I wish I could downgrade. At the end of each day on watchOS 9.6, I had around 65-67% battery left from full charge on my Ultra. Now I have around 50-55% with similar usage.

But it's really weird - I can go 24 hours on my Ultra (even if my run is not long so half an hour) and end up at 35% battery remaining - so nowhere near the initial two-day-battery I had in January.

My brother on the other hand can go almost 3 days on his Ultra 2. Yes I know it's brand new and new chip etc. etc. but my old 2 days would still be superb for me, but not on this software. His U2 doesn't seem to have issues on the new software though

This really is a joke surely, my version 6 was on 9% just before midnight yesterday, prior to the update it could well still be on 50-60% by that time! please tell me they are fixing this and it isn't a 'marketing' tactic!

**Note, iPhone and watch both updated, both restarted multiple times.

I have been testing watchOS 10 since the very first beta on my Ultra. The battery was really bad at first but improved around beta 5 or 6.
Still, this is nowhere near watchOS 9. I usually charge my watch every other day (or in orther words, every 48 hours) and after 48 hours, my watch used to be around 25-35% under watchOS 9. Now, it's more like 15-20%.
If it's like this with every major update, the watch won't last a day in 2 or 3 years. Kinda disappointing for a 1000€ watch.

What's more disappointing is that there are barely any novelty. Oh yes, cool, you can swipe down to see some widgets, but that's just the old Siri face that has been around for ages, really. They've just put it under each face now, but I could have achieved something similar under watchOS 9 by using the Siri face and swipe left/right between faces.

I’m experiencing noticeably worse battery on my S8 after upgrading to watchOS 10. Barely gets through a day. Here’s to hoping 10.1 addresses this.

My 45mm S9 has continued to improve and has now surpassed my previous S7. It's lasting over 24 hours with 25-30% remaining. Very happy with this now but it has come a long way. I'm now used to all the new features and using it routinely with workouts and normal usage.

I'm new to this thread but just chiming in that the battery life on my wife's s4 and my s5 has been terrible since watchos 10. Both batteries replaced in the last year so over 95% health. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Our S4 used to have 40-50% at the end of the day and now is around 20% or less. S5 is not as bad but still worse than WatchOS 9.

Give it some time and review some of the things that people say helped. For me and my new SE 1st gen, I turned off some things (search my posts above), restarted the watch a few times. By day 2 I was much better and by day 3 was golden. Others say repairing helps, or removing the weather app helped, but I never did that.

Good luck and let us know how it works for you in a few days.

Feel like people say a lot of different things here and some say it helps and others it doesn't...

End of the day: Apple screwed us with this WatchOS - This is a massive part of the watches, that already have the shortest battery in the industry in sports watches. So to take ~30% off that in my case, is pretty damn bad.

They need to acknowledge they have an issue and fix it ASAP. Would roll back to WatchOS 9 any day if possible

I certainly dont disagree with your feelings about Apple's performance on this issue. We have all felt your pain - some for shorter periods than others. I have always considered Apple products to be premium, with a price to match, and am so embedded in the Apple ecosystem that its hard to switch to something else (not sure that they dont have their own problems of course). I guess all we can do is complain to Apple's apparently deaf ear, grin and bear it, or move to another system.

I am reluctant to tell my wife to upgrade her S7LTE to watchOS 10.
I think I don't have problems with my Ultra 2, but my previous S5LTE was hugely impacted.
Maybe my Ultra 2 has also some battery drain issues, but I don't notice it as I have never seen it with watchOS 9.
Are there any people that are NOT having battery drain with "old" watches like S7, S6 ... ?
I don't understand why this big problem is not making more noise on big Apple news sites (like MacRumors).
Apple has never acknowledged the issue.

In the one week I was using watchOS 10 on my S7, I had no issues. Only when Weather app was running, there was incredible battery drain.

OK, but most people have a weather complication ...

Can’t say if this is the case. I have no numbers, Apple surely has.
But agree on that having Weather app on the AW is nothing exotic.

What is the over/under we see a fix this week? My take: today is a good day. :)

…And leave feedback on Apple’s website.

Battery has been relatively normal for me after the weekend - unsure why the drain happened for a few days but it seems to be okay now.

I'm at 70% left after a 2 hour workout in the morning and some notification use with AOD on. Hoping 10.1 will further fix it for everyone else!

Updated to WatchOS 10.1 dev Beta 3 on my S5. Any other solution proposed in this thread has not solved the problem. Tomorrow late more info.

They mention 10.1 paired with 17.0 to be fixed. Not really the case for the majority of the complaints here

Didn’t work. I take the phone off the charger around midnight, put it in low power mode and can’t make it through the day without a quick recharge.
