Nope didn't solve the issue for me at all.

I really don’t think music has anything to do with it. I haven’t had music on my watch for several years now and I was having heavier than usual battery drain.

As an update to my resetting my AWU2 and setting up as new last weekend….its been a mixed bag. Had a discharge cycle where it didn’t make a difference and I’ve had two discharge cycles where my battery life was similar or possibly better than my AWU1 pre-watchOS 10. So who really knows if setting it up again as a new watch helped or not, but it was so easy to do so I figured might as well try it.

+1 for anecdotal unpairing and re-pairing helping return things to normal: I got my iPhone 15 Pro a few days ago, and after migrating my watch to the new phone, which appears to effectively be a re-pairing, battery life appears to be much improved.
+1 to this exact same scenario fixing about 80% of the battery drain issue for me..

I ended up in a situation where the watch faces were on a continuous reboot loop. Drained my battery within 3 hours. One night it didn't charge beyond 93% because it fell into this loop. Apple couldn't fix it so it was sent in for a warranty repair and hopefully a downgrade to watchOS 9x.

Did a first 'proper' test of my Ultra 2 over the weekend, charged up to 100% on Friday at 16:00. Sunday at 16:00 I had 30% battery left. This is with AOD set to on, medium brightness, did 3 workouts, and plenty of tinkering with setting up some new automations and custom shortcut menu's for the Action button. I did NOT play any music direct from my watch (only my iPhone) and turned off 'now playing' on the watch. No music is synced to phone.

I did, however, hit some strange issues last night. Some of my watch face complications went haywire. I had setup a shortcut as a complication on the watch face last week, which allows me to turn on my hifi. Yesterday after doing some stuff and restarting the watch, this custom complication disappeared, and I can now only access all shortcuts, instead of the specific shortcut that I had setup - the option to select a specific shortcut has seemingly disappeared - like magic.....

With AOD turned on and wake on wrist raise off, battery on my S7(41,GPS, 97% battery health) was draining at approx. 3.5-4% every hour. Tried an unpair/re-pair, hard reset etc but that made no difference. Turned AOD off, left wake on wrist raise on and it's now draining at around 1.5-2% per hour

Deleted all downloaded music, rebooted and today has been the best battery day since WatchOS 10
Wow this is just weird - after deleting my offline music from my Ultra 1 and rebooting it, the battery seems like its back to WatchOS 9 days - at least a ton better.

Put my watch on yesterday around midnight to track sleep and went for a morning run 35 mins. and almost 1pm and just hit 77%

Way better... Odd, but at least nice to have it back

Glad you were in the same boat as me. But now we need to find a way to get our music back. I really need it 😫 As soon as I put it back on, everything goes back to waste.

I still don't get the feeling Apple knows there is a a big problem, so my hopes for a fix in the next update are low.

Just wondering, the music you deleted, is it Apple Music or just local music (like me)? I want to narrow the problem down as much as possible.

Have you contacted Apple to explain what you have noticed with music ?

Mine was offline playlists from Apple Music - still don’t quite know if it was those that made the difference but only change I made and a huge boost back into the battery

Look at my ruler-straight AWU battery discharge over the span of a bit over 12 hours. No workouts, no cell, little usage…

So there is definitely a major issue that I think Apple may simply be oblivious too for some reason. I had a Apple Watch Series 7. Everything was working fine and then last week, Tuesday October 10th I installed WatchOS 10.1 Beta 3. My Watch went from lasting all day and even up till the next morning to suddenly draining in less than 4 hours. Also, I noticed that it would not charge above 75%. Based on the charger I was using, it would not even charge that far. It is like the Watch is consuming as much energy as the charger was putting out. I assumed my battery went bad. I have a friend who had a spare Series 7 for me to borrow until my new Ultra 2 arrives. For the first two days it functioned properly and the battery was holding up great. I decided to update this loaner to 10.1 Beta 3. Immediately after updating, the battery issues identical to my Series 7 cropped up. It was at 100% at 7:45am this morning and now it is 11:28am and at 22%. My co-worker updated his Watch this morning and the same issue started happening to him. Apples 'Release Candidate' they released yesterday does not fix it. This is VERY serious. They are going to be releasing this to the public next week. I have tried resetting the watch fully and it does not help. I am afraid to allow any software update when I get my Ultra 2.

My Ultra is down to 38% at 20 hours. I used to get 2.5 to 3 days!!
coming from 6 cellular where I got 40-50 hours, bought U2 for better speakers and figured out for 3 years cost is about 65 cents daily. With 10/1 new U2 72-84 hours Always on off. just got 72 hours with Always on on. Being 84 I like the complications and have several Modular Ultra faces with different complications I can quickly swipe to. The health and fall alerts are good to have. Tracking my walking mileage, Afib, sleep, etc. Since the speakers are better, receiving calls are better, with the 6, I had to call back with iPhone. I imagine keeping it for 3-5 years but who knows what Apple will come with next. I don't think they will make anything larger maybe new sensors.

My wife has a series 6 that had very adequate battery life before the OS10 update. Now it's down to zero before the day ends. She has only one watch face with complications which she has used since day one. One is the current date and the other is heart rate. She added the Snoopy watch face, but has since deleted it.

Fortunately, she bought Apple Care for this watch which is still in effect. She will take it to the local (Korat, Thailand) contract service center this week. I'll post when I find out what they said/did.

Yes, please.

The WatchOS 10.1 beta RC appears to fix the problem with battery drain in my S5, i recover the all day battery life, anyway i need more days to confirm that the bug it is completely solved.

Best regards and sorry for my bad english.

UPDATE: After another full day, I confirm that it has had a considerable improvement with WatchOS 10.1 beta RC and I almost have a full day of battery life but it is still far from the battery performance of WatchOS 9.

She took it to the service center. They said the battery is fine with 85% capacity. We already knew that. Now they've unpaired it and sent it off to some other repair center where it will languish for two weeks. My wife is very upset to have to do without her watch for that long. I don't blame her.
