I 've always thought that women have good design sense, so when they go "eww! a Mac!" it makes me want to spill coffee on their nice clothes

Didn't we discuss earlier the need to avoid this kind of attitude? I mean seriously, she obviously didn't know what she was talking about. Clearly, she did like Macs, but didn't understand that. She merely needed educating.

I could educate her with some Dunkin' Donuts down the front of her blouse! hahah:D

In all honesty, if I'd had the same conversation I would've had a normal discussion with her dispelling myths and spreading the gospel. I mean, she's already half way there, just needs a little truth put in her head.

Actions speak louder than words, so I usually just pop out the iBook and let it speak for itself.;)

Indeed it is! Were you lying down on the job? You know how these threads can steer into wild, wierd, and wacky subjects, or even <gasp!> politics!

Oh, I...umm. I guess I'll get back...on topic. :D

as 5300cs uses his ipod, which rests in his lap, he overhears several women pointing to it, commenting how small it is. :p sorry couldnt resist.

I guess that this would be a reason for getting a 17" PB. Then you'd get comments about how big and beautiful it is... :D

Do you lot think that if everybody were "computer-educated" enough to make a well thought out choice of computer purchase all by him/her-self, that Apple's marketshare would be gr8ter?

The stories (funny as they are) about no-knows actually make me feel concerned. If no PC/Mac dealer's salesman know anything about a Mac, HOW THE H*LL IS HE/SHE GOING TO SELL IT?

Maybe the advertizing which is actually done by Apple (by no means enough over here, anyway.... ) should shift in subject. They always talk about "cool stuff" or "how easy it is".... but nothing about "it can do everything a PC can running XP, and also cooler, and easier" If they do, well.... the message isn't clear to most of 'em.

I agree with you Macrg8. it is a shame that apple does not promote the true features that pc users think macs don't have. they need to show people playing games, surfind the internet, hooking up easily to networ,s etc, etc. Having people say the mac doesnt eat my report is not enough to get people to use macs. Honestly apple, it is about time you get your act together and fire the monkeys in advertising.

Touche :p

Hey bud, it's your thread. And it's a damn good one. I understand.

Here's a 'worst question':

"Why can't you record music <for composition purposes> on a Mac"

Why can't we legalize what he was smoking?

Thx for all the compliments:p I try, and I would like to thank my manager.... jk

Recently I have found out that some people try and mess with me, since they know I am an avid mac user. They will be like wanna come over play that new game? I know ya feel deprived since u can't play games on the mac. lol. stuff like that. :p

I doubt its happy so I am assuming you are using gay in a negative term. And if this thread is so gay, then why have well over 200 people replied, and almost 7000 times have people taken the time to view the thread? Stupid threads do not get that much attention.

Also, btw I smell a pc troll, what kind of pc do u use evilsprung?

Due to the fact that evilsprung took the time to go to the trouble of reading, then posting, somewhat negates the argument.

Would this terse comment qualify as a 'worst thing' even though it's not phased as a question?

OT: vniow, you're gay? Wow. The things one can learn in an environment of relative anonimity.

Darn. I was going to make a pass too :D :D

Good! I suppose I still have a chance then! :D

Anyway, back on topic...

"Arent Macs based on the metric system?"

Forgot about that one.

I'm pretty sure XP screws up every computer it's installed on.

:D

believe it or not
i own a windows nt version installable on x86, ppc and risc processors. although i never tried...

I once saw an ad for computer skills in a local newspaper. Stuff, such as learning how to use Windoze, Word 2000, internet, etc. Funny thing is, it showed a picture of a Performa. Pathetic.

I have people give me a hard time, too. The most annoying was one guy giving me an acronym for Macintosh. It bugged me so much that I've never forgotten it...

Of course, back then it was easier to push my buttons. I was a little more of a 'fan' then, as opposed to being an 'advocate' now.

Wow! I was looking for that once, but couldn't find it anywhere. Could you post it somewhere? Upload it for us all to download and try if it works on Mac hardware?

That would be great!

Worst questions I have been asked...

Conversation I had at school the other day:

"You got a Mac, right?"
"Yes, I do."
"How's it with them files?"
"What files?"
"Well, you know ... files."
Ummm, yeah. But what kind of files?"
"Well, like, JPEGs and text, 'n stuff."
"Yeah, what about them?"
"Can you open them? I guess not; a Mac can't do that, can it?"
"Riiiiiiiight..."

Another person asking quite a dumb question:

"Why did you buy an iMac?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, the only thing you can do with it is surf the internet, right?"
"Ummm, no, not exactly. It's just another computer. It just doesn't run Windows, but that doesn't mean it can't do the stuff you do with your PC!"
"Yeah, right. Well, I bet you can't play MP3s, now can you?!..."
"Sure I can. Why wouldn't I be able to do that?"
"Well, then at least you can't open Office files. Ha!"
"You know, actually I can. Microsoft makes Office for Mac. And Internet Explorer, and MSN Messenger. Just like they do for Windows..."
"Ummm, oh. Didn't. Know. That. Oh. Well. Right. Whatever!"
