That story was pretty good. It just amazes me that PC people believe that everything runs on Windows and Pentiums. As if there is no other alternative. I just saw the Matrix: Reloaded and all I can think of is "Free your mind" PC people.

i don t know what circuit city is. but that man has to be fired :D sad but true.

Circuit City is a nation wide electronics super-store, here in the US. They sell everything from game systems to computers to car stereos to TVs to... (you get the picture). They pride themselves on hiring only very technically adept people, so this guys ignorance really took me offguard. Oh well. I don't remember his name and didn't think to suggest he be fired before I left. I guess he'll get to keep working there for now...

I can't imagine why you would shop there to begin with. It is the most overpriced consumer electronics store I have ever seen. On average, I get my equipment for about 2/3 the price of what they charge.

i like the ones that don't involve actual fact, are totally base-less, and come from second-hand information (like most):
"don't macs like crash a lot more than pc's?"

here's one for those who remember the days of resedit:
"jpeg doesn't have 4 letters, it has 3!"(condescending laughter ensues)

Some of their stuff is over priced, but I have often found that if I'm careful what I'm getting there I can get good deals. I always shop around, and the speakers that I got from them were the cheapest good quality (I say so, now having them and listening to them) that I found. The knowledge of the sales staff, well, that's another matter...

I certainly agree on the sales side of things. You'd be lucky to find an employee in the cell phone department that even knows the difference between GSM and CDMA.

In fact, I just did an internet price comparison on the speakers that I got from Circuit City, and their price is the lowest available.

While this thread is fun, and I have contributed a few things to it, I don't deal with Windows people much any more. In my department the main network, etc., is based off of Linux. Individuals can choose to work with Windows, Linux, or MacOS on their machines. But my office happens to be right next to the offices for the network admins. So, I get a lot of harassment about using a Mac. (On the plus side, I've also earned the reputation as the person to ask if you have a Mac question. The network admins frequently refer people to me, and when they do and I help out, they are nice to me for a while. Also, they dislike Windows as much as we do...)

There was a part in the movie, I wanted to yell out, it's run on windows; i forgot what part it was. something about the system. anyway.

I'm being serious here: "Can Macs get on the internet?"
LMAO! I was talking to someone today and he was like, Macs suck because you cannot upgrade them. he then pointed to the imac and is like, you can only have one drive in em, i can stick like 5 in my pc. So then i told him apple has towers, with AGP and PCI slots, and room for 4 hard drives and 2 drives, i went to show him the towers at apple.com; he then shut up. :) I get that comment a lot actually, that 'there is no upgradeability'. My friend had never heard of any mac besides the iMac and thought it was the only one they made. dear. god. lol

I vehemently disagree with this for many reasons. Not that your claim is entirely without merit, but can you reveal your source for this 2/3 off? Lol. And I can get it for 3/3 discount, but so can anyway-steal. lol.

This just happened 10 minutes ago!

Our office receptionist started admiring my 12" Powerbook as I was using iPhoto to manage about 300 pics taken at a staff event. She asked a bunch of really interested questions and then said she wanted to get a Pbook.

I said "you won't regret getting a mac."

She said "It's a mac? Oh nevermind, I don't like Macs."

WTH?

I think the part in Matrix: Reloaded was when they said "obsolete programs writing other obsolete programs". It was something like that, I can't remember exactly....

Yeah, I thought that too....

ditz .. let her get a piece of crap then
I 've always thought that women have good design sense, so when they go "eww! a Mac!" it makes me want to spill coffee on their nice clothes

My favourite was when i was working at a computer retailer that decided to get in the original bondi iMacs, once they realised there was money to be made (they'd stopped stocking Apple products altogether a couple of years previously).

When a customer came in and asked about Apple computers one of my fellow salespeople piped up and said, "no, Apple doesn't exist any more, they went bust and were bought up by a company called iMac".

of course they were:rolleyes:

That is too funny. I feel bad for people's ignorance. But what can you do......I know.....advertise!!! (hint hint, Apple)

It was something along those lines; the urge was almost unbearable to shout something out. lol. :p

I have heard that, or well that type of thing along those lines that the company is iMac and they only make the one familiar CRT model. Augh. Sometimes it makes me sick. lol

A very attractive young woman once called my iMac "a sexy piece of hardware."

Ahhhh....the subliminal connotations of that one line. ;)
