Is it? How does it compare to an iPhone wrapped in some cases?I know some of us would like a little thicker devices to get rid of the bump and add battery.
But this is ridiculous
"...but Energizer's smartphone is the device that no one is asking for."
Really? The author has reached out to everyone in order to know this?

For all of those who wanted more battery instead of a thin phone!!![]()
Ok guys, here is your chance to buy that phone with a huge battery because you don’t care about thickness or elegant design.
I'm gonna need bigger pants so this bad boy fits in my pocket
What kind of market research was done to finish this design?
Probably more for commercial, industrial or even military.
One doesn't even need to buy a battery case to get thicker. For example an Otterbox Defender is 25mm thick.Judging by the dimensions, this device is several CM thicker than most modern phones with a battery case. 18000 mah is massive. I haven't seen any battery cases that as this much bulk
Though there could be a few out there I haven't seen
Just tried to do some basic size comparisons bad on the usb port. This appears to be approximately 5x as thick as an iPhone
We wouldn’t be having this discussion if smartphones began using removable batteries where you can swap out a dead battery with a fully charged spare.
Then others who see you will ask - is that your new smartphone with an 18KHr battery or are you just happy to see me?![]()

So does extra thin but that hasn't stopped the market.Began? Sorry, this was done already - and there too many problems or have you not been paying attention the past 10 years? You cannot do ip4 or above waterproofing/dust with a removable battery. A removable battery means more parts and higher cost to build. Removable batteries simply do not have as much capacity as built-in ones. Capacity did not matter so much with a RAZR or flip-phones because they did not have OLED screens, multicore processors or graphics chips or run processor intensive apps, but a removable battery would last minutes in a current phone. The extra size of a removable battery and the mechanism needed to connect it would limit designs. There are also too many issues with third party cheap knockoffs batteries overheating/ faulty shielding / generally not working ... so on and so on.
Also if it is so inconvenient to have to plug in a phone for a few hours every day or so, then you can always buy an external charger for a few dollars or maybe you just need to re-evaluate your life and get a grip on the fact that you have in your hand a portable computer more powerful than the entirety of NASA's Apollo Program computing power, along with radio that can send High Definition video and instant access to library of nearly any video or song available to mankind, a gaming and entertainment machine that rivals a home gaming console /a photography and video studio that produces professional broadcast quality work, and access to thousands of applications that all fits in your palm and can connect to nearly anyone on Earth instantly - all in a single device, something that even Science Fiction found implausible 25 years ago!

Uh, 18mm is thinner than 25mm.Still thinner than this phone
Really? Can I see your data supporting this statement? Are we sure this is real, honestly? It just doesn't make sense for any user. A fat phone with huge battery life, water proofing and shock absorption has a market, but this monstrosity is battery and nothing else. Any other phone with an external battery pack would be better for every use I can think of. The images almost look fake too... The way the buttons and ports are aligned with one edge.
