lmao

That's like - The car isn't really that big - It fits great on my 40' flatbed trailer!

Actually, it's more specific. My music stand is very light weight (for travel). A Surface Pro is a little awkward, but this fits much better. Of course a regular school music stand will hold a laptop. They can be pretty heavy duty.

The Air is perfect, but this is pretty good.

Two iPad Mini's stuck together side by side is pretty much the size of a 9.7" iPad.

I like mine so far, the complaints that I have I already knew I would have (Split screen app organization, ability to have multiple windows of the same app, terrible app switcher for such a huge screen - give me something like mission control on iOS...)

It's massive! Exactly what I wanted :)
yes yes yes. I love massive. I worship the beauty of it.

Split screen you could have four screens in one on this thing.

What is the diagonal for two iPad Pros side by side? A 21" iMac?

Aye, but you also mention web browsing. Im no techie. Far from it. Which is why im also wondering, if i dont upgrade my router, what, if any speed differences on internet browsing there'll be between my ipad2 and ipad pro?

I think the 4 GBs of RAM alone will make a huge difference.

Couple that with the CPU performance & it should be smooth.

Any router these days should be able to do the job.

Having said that, the Time Capsule makes things even nippier as it contains 2 radios & outputs on both frequencies at the same time ...

Just picked mine up. I think this thread should be renamed: "This thing is CRAZY."

Love it.

Pleased for you, mate.

Can you tell us how the size compares to how you thought it was going to be?

Does it seem bigger, or smaller than expected?

Also, how fast/fluid is iOS 9 on it?

Enjoy ...

Good! I want this thing to be huge. I plan on using it 90% for illustration work and for that, bigger is better. I'm bored to death with the size of the regular iPad - I love hearing people shocked that it's such a big device - that makes me confident that I can use it daily as my MacBook Pro replacement for "most" tasks.

I'm pretty sure that it will be amazing for illustration. I'm nearly certain that I'll be selling my Cintiq now that I've seen the Pro in person. The screen is actually hilariously better than my 13" Cintiq. That, and it's a lighter, nicer looking device with a larger drawing area.

I may miss some of the features of Photoshop, but I'm sure Procreate will do just fine for most things. If I really need Phostoshop, I can keep using my Intuos. I found Astropad to be much too laggy with the Pro to be used for any longer than a few minutes/

thats what one of the MR front page videos says. the guy cant get over how big the darned thing actually is!

Simple way to see. Take your 13" macbook, close it, hold it up pretending the back cover is a screen, and imagine the size (but not the weight). Better still to do it with a retina Macbook because I bet the weight is pretty close (although a little smaller)

Thats assuming i've ever even seen an Apple laptop in the flesh ;)

It's just too big... I think I'm going to return it. :-/

What tasks did you mainly get it for? I have to be honest - every time I read someone say it's genuinely too big for their needs I get excited because that size seems all the better for me to illustrate on with the Apple Pencil. BUT I know very specifically what I'll be using it for. Did you intend to use it as a normal iPad and found that it's too big for what you wanted?

It's definitely larger than I had expected, albeit was a pleasant surprise. One may compare the size to being ever so slightly larger than a box of Cheerios. The on-screen keyboard is a standard Apple desktop keyboard, so if you're not doing heavy text editing, is a fine substitute for the smart keyboard.

I haven't played with it too much but due to its thinness, the iPad doesn't feel particularly heavy. I think balanced is an excellent word for this. Speaker quality is absolutely superb by the way, and readying text is an absolute joy.

The speed is fast and fluid - no lag or freezing so to speak. This thing is benchmarking really high in tests, so I don't really expect there to be any real issues with regards to speed. All in all, I'm very pleased with this product. So much so, that I'm considering taking my Surface Pro 4 back to the store.

Edit: I attached a picture of the onscreen keyboard

Just got back from Apple store - wow.

It's staggeringly large. I always wanted a "bigger iPad" and I'm not sure I knew what I was talking about. Maybe I needed something more like an 11.5" version or something.

IPP will be incredible for illustration/graphics stuff and truly unwieldy for the more conventional uses of iPads to this point. Very niche device (IMO at least)

I suspect many people who are thinking "what I do now with an iPad but bigger" will be surprised, and for many perhaps not in a good way. It's for sure a different device with very different ideal use cases.
