I find the biggest thing Android users seem to miss when switching to iOS is the USB storage capability of the phone. You can plug your phone into any computer, drag media to and from it, and play/access that media from the phone. Did you find yourself missing that?

This is probably the #1 Android feature that I wish Apple would adopt. The problem is Apple likes to have control over the user experience, and I think this would go against that so it's unlikely to happen.

Luckily there are some apps that help a bit, like Documents by Readdle and Goodreader, but you generally have to use WiFi to transfer data with those and it's slower.

I didn't use this feature at all really mostly due to google drive and other cloud storage options

fast charging is like steroid. you get quick energy boost but it damages your health long term. of course, samsung just wants to wow you first. who cares how your phone battery is like in a year.

It's a phone! Designed to serve you, not you it. These features are created to make your life easier assuming that you don't want to take you phone to the grave with you. How about we don't use the phones at all so we don't damage the battery? Wow ...

My first (and last) Android phone was also the HTC Eris and my frustrations with that phone made me an Apple customer, probably for life...
Yeah, that was the laggiest phone ever!

Welcome to the club and thank you for the critique. (Could you put paragraphs in next time though ;) )

It's not quite as good as fast charging, but if you buy an iPad power supply (and I do recommend the Apple ones) you'll cut your charging time damn near in half. It's perfectly safe, they are designed for it.
Every little helps.

Neither here nor there, but I had the granddaddy of your first HTC, (still have it in a drawer here) the HTC Hero, which I think the Eris was based on. I liked it at the time, though it didn't get as much use as my iPhone.

I wish apple would have included the 2A power charging brick with the iphone...especially for the price they're asking

sure, tell that to consumers who paid almost a thousand of dollars for a iphone. that their phone battery will lose its capacity significantly after a year or two.

sorry but I pay alot for a phone and I don't want to abuse it unless I have no choice.

Why can't iPhone users admit when there is a hardware advantage on an Android phone? Fast charging is awesome and as soon as iPhone users get it they will be singing the praises of fast charging. Since you don't have it now, you say it doesn't matter or isn't good. Next year when you have it, you will be singing a different tune.

Just like when you get an AMOLED display next year you will be all saying how great it is.

The Samsung flagships have significant hardware advantages over iPhones. PERIOD. iPhones do a better job of integrating the hardware/software and that has its advantages no doubt but it is ridiculous to say things like fast charging isn't great. It's freakin' awesome. And you will say so next year when you get it.

My phone last all day without a problem, I charge it when I'm sleeping. I rather it charge slow and not blow up than fast and have to replace the battery cause of damage in a year.

My phone last all day without a problem
So does mine but sometimes I forget to charge it at night and fast charging is great. Other times I am using my phone an extraordinary amount of SOT with full brightness and streaming music, tethering, bluetooth on and fast charging is great then too.

As soon as the iPhone gets fast charging, you will be peeing your pants saying how great it is. This always happens - iPhone users say that they don't need something that they don't have that Androids do have and then they get it and all they can do is talk about how great it is, lol!

Wireless charging is awesome too. You will love it once you get it!! When I do charge at night, I just plop it on the wireless charging pad, its so nice to be able to do that.

I've had fast charging as well as wireless and I find it to be a gimmick and not something I need. Plus if I want to charge faster I'll use my iPad charger. I find my phone to charge fast as it is.

you miss the point... everyone loves new features, who doesn't? but with android phones, they rush out new features that are half-baked or require some effort to get it to work right. When apple adds new feature, everyone appraise because they do it right. of course apple also made mistakes. they don't make it work right every time but most of the time.

not just regular consumers appraise apple new features, developers do as well. for example, most major apps support touchID. for android, you are lucky if these same apps support finger scanner.

I know this because I own both apple and android devices. android has alot of features but many don't work right. sometime these features are just gimmick.

To be fair I think this whole dual camera system on the 7+ is just a gimmick. People think, oh, two cameras, must be better... But when you know that the 2nd one only works under very limited conditions it becomes apparent that it's a gimmick. Just like 3D touch, it's gimmicky. How often do most people use it? In fact, most average users (who are not members of forums) probably don't even know that they can 3D touch their phones.

I disagree on both of your points.

look at the big thread "iPhone 7 Plus Photography". I am amazed with posted pictures in that thread. Bloke feature is not even released yet but people took some beautiful pictures using beta. many people went from 4.7 iphone to 5.5 iphone for this dual camera.

like you, I thought 3D was gimmick last year when 6s was released. Now that I own iphone 7+, I use it everyday. everyday when I commute to work or home, I use touchID on google Map to get quick route with traffic. if I take a bad-traffic route, it could cost me an hour of driving. without this touchID, it usually takes me a few steps to do the same task.

I recently sold my iPhone 6 Plus after using iPhones from the iPhone 4 onwards and purchased a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge.

Both handle outgoing and incoming calls well, send and receive texts and connect to mobile data and wifi just fine. ;)

The rest for me is just preference.

I appreciate the issues surrounding the Note 7 but let's not forget iPhones have had similar issues too. Just recently I read one iPhone 7 was in transit in its box and erupted !

Android has become a long way since then. They have some very nice handsets now. However I don't see myself using an android phone for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, but have you had a read through the Reddit thread and looked over the images of the "exploded in transit" iPhone 7?

That was clearly, not possibly, not maybe, definitely punctured by something. You'd expect the battery to explode in those circumstances, it's what they do. I mean, if they guy genuinely received it in that state and I don't know that he didn't, then why the hell did he accept it at his door, what was he thinking?

If my nice new phone (regardless of make) arrived at my doorstep in packaging that looked like a javelin thrower had used for target practice and then thrown it in a microwave. That you could clearly see inside the ripped packaging to the box inside, which also had a big torn hole in it. There's no way on gods green earth I would even accept delivery of the item.

Even the sensible news outlets have commented on how the iPhone was damaged beyond that which could be caused by a battery explosion alone.

Don't get me wrong, if this was a legitimate Apple quality issue, I'd be up in arms about it, I wouldn't be happy about that from any company. But this, just isn't that.

To save you hunting, I'll include the photos of the actual packaging here, you can come to your own conclusions.

**Edit
You know the bit I find funny in it all and I know it's not really a laughing matter. But in one of his updates to the thread, the guy said that Apple were working with AT&T to supply him with an expedited replacement. I should frigging hope so :D

**Edit 2, the sequel ;)

On a side note, how are you liking the S7 Edge? I quite like the look of it but I can't shake the feeling that I wouldn't get on very well with those little extra curved screen sections.

Except it probably can be done using software only, since that is what it is especially doing... And I was talking about right now, which is pretty much for 2x optical zoom. Except it can't do it, unless you're outside in bright light cause of the f2.8 aperture. So at the moment, it's gimmick, and I doubt every day users are going to find it useful.

However the f1.8 is in fact a great improvement and many people will notice that in low light conditions, which is mostly where people are using their phones - indoors.

No, it got punctured. That wasn't the iPhone fault.

I turned in my beloved Note 7 and decided it was time to make the move to iP7+. I've been an Android user for many years since my first Android, the HTC Eris in 2009. Honestly, I've been disappointed with Samsung over the last two iterations of the note series. My note 5 from last year had issues with the screen freezing, so I had to get a replacement. We all know the issues with this year's note 7, the release has been a disaster. It was time to bite the bullet, and try the iPhone. I picked up an iP7+ in matte black. It's been very easy and straightforward to use, buttery smooth operating system (much faster than touchwiz, even faster than Nova Launcher), and better audio output to name a few. Opening and closing apps are so much faster it's mind boggling! There are some things I do miss however: fast charging, wireless charging, ability to pause when shooting video, camera settings in the native camera app, numbers on the native keyboard and ability to adjust the size of the keyboard, notifications at the top of the screen, & notification LED. These things just made my user experience easier and more convenient. The one thing that has me truly convinced the iPhone 7 Plus is the best phone money can buy is the battery life. I've attached a screenshot of my battery use and I'm absolutely blown away. I would only get 4 hours of screen on time at the most with Android, but over 10 hours with 25% to spare is ridiculous! I've not really tweaked any settings to save battery with the exception of using auto brightness.

Great job Apple!
You can improve on the charge times by going to the iPad power adapter. Or iPad Pro USB-C power adapter and USB-C to lightening cable. It's not as quick as fast charging, but it will give you a one percent per minute increase when battery level is between 0 - 80%.

These power adapters have enough current to supply full charging even while using the phone with screen at brightest setting. After 80% the internal charging circuit will automatically reduces to keep battery safe, until at 100% it is trickle charging intermittently. This prevents any damage to battery even if you leave it plugged in all the time.

Just be sure to use actual Apple power adapters and cables. While there are other reputable products, there are many that skimp on cable wire gage size, chip incorporation, and isolation of the high and low voltage circuits in the power adapters.

See how gimmicky the two camera system is on the iPhone 7 Plus. For the absolute best results view this on an iPhone 7 Plus to get the full true color gamut. Gimmick?........I don't think so.

Great job Apple!

I, too, was disappointed with the whole Note 7 debacle. The fires the past week was the last straw and I went back to Verizon and returned the Note 7 for an iPhone 7. I do agree the fast charging and wireless charging are nice features of the N7. Hopefully the iPhone next year will have it. I've always been an iPhone user except for when the Note 7 came out. While I really loved the N7, I just can't deal with risks that it might pose or it getting banned from planes.

Okay... And??? Where does that show how both cameras are used? It's using 1 camera, the main 1.8 aperture camera. Because if it used the telephoto lens for video you would be having a seizure while watching since it doesn't have OIS. The regular 7 can record the exact same video without 2 cameras.

I hope Apple don't go with fast charging and instead go with VOOC charging like I had in my Oppo. 3000mHa battery charged from 0-100% in 50 minutes and I had that phone for over a year with no adverse affects to the battery performance.

I would also like a notification light.

On another note with auto correct, auto caps and double tap to insert a full stop how come some may people don't use them? Are they lazy or just don't know punctuation?

Watch it again. You will see the user transition between the wide angle and tele lense. Even puts a note on the screen to clue you in. These are on the outside shots. I particularly like a more normal 50mm style photo rather than always in the wide angle mode most phones are in all the time. Using software to simulate a 50mm lense style shot does not provide the highest resolution when shooting in daylight.

I do take issue with calling the 2x lense a telephoto. To my mind that denotes something like 75mm or 150mm or greater. We are so used to a wide angle image on phones that are like 28mm. All focal lengths I'm used to from my DSLR days.

And I question your experience in photography as your seizure comment referencing OIS obviously shows you can't even recognize when imagines are being shot with a tripod or steady rest as these were.

As in doing what their typical customer base wants? A company appealing to its common user base, that's just crazy talk and makes no sense at all. No company would ever want to do a thing like that. Why so sensitive about smart business practices only as they relate to Apple?
Oops... must've hit a nerve

Packed up my Note 7 to go back after all the mess. Now if I can locate an iPhone 7 plus as it seems everyone is sold out. :(
