I’m getting the iPhone 8 Product Red in a couple of months time when the new iPhones are unveiled. My 6S has been a real workhorse but Apple keep crippling the battery life with updates and then take months to sort it out so I’m looking forward to an upgrade now. Not paying X money for a few features I’m not interested in and the rumoured LCD iPhone sounds like it’ll skimp on features so the 8 appears the best option.

I have the X in Space Gray 256gb and may keep it depending on what the new iPhones are. I always upgrade every year, but the X was expensive, so it all depends on what these new iPhones will offer. I love my X, but I would like a bigger screen. At times I do miss the screen size of my 7+, and catch myself using it a lot along with my X. I haven’t used my X to its full potential neither.

As with each new iPhone, I’ll wait until it is revealed before I decide. I am leaning towards “wait another year” though, as i almost always wait 2 years before upgrading. Going to the X was the first time in my cell phone history where I didn’t wait at least 2 years.

An X-Plus style phone would be very tempting, but if there’s little improvements besides that and/or an even *steeper* price tag over $1200, it will be a pass for me.

Where is the "stuck with an iPhone 5 because my main phone is lost and desperately need the new phones to hurry up" choice?

If my 6S is found before September, I'm actually ok keeping it for a while until the hype dies down for the new phones and the inevitable "first production" bugs are worked out on the larger OLED. If not, I'll be a doorbuster on day 1.

Some things I'm hoping for are better wifi (MIMO) and band 71 coverage. I'm also excited about the bigger OLED and I think it's going to allow me to get rid of my iPad Air 1, which is becoming unusable due to slowness.

As an aside, if any of you rent a black Nissan sedan at SEA-TAC anytime soon, please look under the drivers seat for my phone ;-)

I will be getting a iPhone X. And once I get it I will be keeping it in tell there are no more software upgrades available for it or wait tell 2021 iPhone

Im happy with my iPhone X but like some others said, i need a bigger screen... So if they give us a slightly larger iphone x i will get it like all the other iPhones that came out.

Every year, I say I won't upgrade this year then I preorder the next update every year, so today I'll just say I won't upgrade this year, but I'll end up upgrading this year.

I really wanted to upgrade last year but bailed at the last moment. I am upgrading from a 6 and tbh it still works fine.
Seriously thinking of going the X+ route.

That’s exactly how I am. I didn’t like the size of the X at first but I love it and even forgot about the notch. I’m saying now I won’t upgrade, but I’ll probably end up upgrading any way.

I posted a similar poll three months ago - now we are getting pretty close to iPhone releases. I feel that buzz around features and upgrades with the 2019 iPhones is limited compared to last year. The iPhone X + seems to be in demand, but I'm not seeing a ton of organic demand for the other two models.

As an iPhone 8+ owner, I've seen more OLED iPhone X screens in the wild and now want to upgrade to the OLED screen. I'm hoping the 2019 X/X+ are $100 less expensive than the comparable prices last year. I'm undecided about X or X+; a lot of the decision will revolve around battery life. The LCD phone would have interested me if it had the dual camera setup.
[doublepost=1529416334][/doublepost]Obviously, replace "2019" with "2018" for all of the poll questions
I'm on annual upgrade with EE so will be getting the iphone X plus for sure. Love the bigger screen size. Not that the iphone x is too small. It's fine but like the bigger screen if it's available.

I just plan to pay $29 to replace my 6s plus battery this fall and keep it for at least another year or two. Like I read above, I think the smartphone market have matured since a couple of year, and upgrade every year or two are not as appealing as before. Plus, here in Canada, new current gen smartphones prices became insanely high these days at a point that I think my next phone will be the second most recent one from now on.

Plus, my phone is still running great and still do what I need to do. A phone is just a phone, its not my personnal computer after all so I don't need the fasted and the most powerful one at all cost.

Had started saving to upgrade from my 7 last year, to an X, but then didn't. That decision was certainly partly due to the high price.

I've continued saving money quietly away since then, so will pretty much have the money sat ready come the release of this years models.

Hoping to go for the X/X+ this year, and also hoping that the pricing stays similar or perhaps even gets reigned in a little. Unlikely I know, but you can always dream!

Thread title just seems obscure to me, I really don’t think consumers ‘Plan’ on three months a ahead for a phone. Tech enthusiasts will, but its a phone. I’m not trying to be inconsiderate, but the majority either wait until the Keynote to make any decisions, but even with the rising cost of smart phones, consumers are keeping their devices even longer, Being they do everything they need them too.

6s user here. Either the 6.1" lcd or a regular 8. I'm going to wait and hear what people have to say about the 6.1. Especially about batterylife, face id and improved gestures. I know I like the aspect ratio of the 8 much better. If a X-styled SE comes along, I'll consider that too.

On the upgrade program. Will sit on my current phone if the price goes up, otherwise swap for the new one of course.

Lol, I expect majority of consumers upgrade when there's something wrong with their phones or when they're upgrade eligible with no regard for Apple's release schedule.

Lol, I always say I'll wait until the keynote to decide. Thus far I've skipped the 3G, 6s and 8/X. :)

Have 8 Plus. Prefer it to X.
If new X+ is FID only will keep 8+ or go to Pixel 3. If X+ has TID I’m likely in.

currently have a 6s Plus.

Waiting for Iphone x plus. But all depends if Apple drop the price below £1k as per the rumors a few weeks back.

Just can’t justify paying best part of a grand again this year , as much as I’d love the X Plus. This X will do me fine for another year.

In the meantime , my annual Apple fix will be the new Apple Watch to replace my series 2.

That sounds like a good idea. I have a Series 2 Apple Watch as well and my AppleCare will be ending in September, so I’m hoping to upgrade my Watch but not to a Series 3.
