2 words for you: public education. If I got paid more, you'd probably be complaining about high taxes.

I don't understand. Do you mean that the salary is low because of public education? Or perhaps you mean the salary is low because this person received a public education.

Holy cow! Hidden message in the invite. It's really tough to see, but if you look closley, and squint your eyes, you might be able to make it out. This is awesome news!

It's an IT position in a public school. Gotta keep the salaries low or raise taxes. If you want to discuss it, PM me or open a thread in PRSI.

Bring on iOS 6, I hope it's a major refresh.

I hope not.

iOS6 needs to be a refinement release – revisit the fundamentals of most of the new features of iOS5 and make them actually work, properly, give better stable API’s and ensure high level take-up of them so they actually solve problems.

iMessage needs a lot of work and has sat neglected for a year. The user journeys for key tasks such as turning wifi on and off suck. Presence and multiple users need taking care of. Basics like photo upload need to be finally fixed. The notification center needs a lot of tidying up to get it to the same quality as some jailbreak solutions.

Get iOS actually functioning better first, sort out its design and usability, then maybe you can consider fundamental refreshes. Hopefully we can see something as good as iOS3 was in terms of fixing the platform.

Please, stop.

I've been using Photoshop for years years and years, and I can easily say that you typed it yourself.

Can't trick me.

Any chance for iPhone 5?
Well, the 5th generation iPhone is already on store shelves. They call it the iPhone 4S. There probably won't be a device called the iPhone 5.

Most likely, Apple's marketing department will call the next handset "the new iPhone" and the customer support people will refer to it as "iPhone (Mid 2012)" or "iPhone (Fall 2012)" or something to that nature. The box will probably just say "iPhone".

Also, it's far more likely that the next generation iPhone would come out in September due to parts availability (low-power LTE chipset) as well as the timing of the developer release of iOS/OS X, software release (late summer), and hardware development cycle.

We're less that two months away from WWDC, so the relative lack of iPhone rumors does not favor a June announcement anyhow.

But yeah, there's always a chance. Just like winning lotto.

Why are the tickets already sold out, and it's been like an hour... and no one's mentioning it?

Incredible. Just incredible. I can't wait to discover what innovations Apple will bring to this year's WWDC. And neither can their copycat competitors who will be looking for product ideas for 2013.

Where have you been lately, sleep? To the contrary it's Apple that's playing the role of copycat these days. Remember when they actually used to innovate? Now it's Android that's coming up with all the fresh ideas, particularly on the software side. Won't be long before they abandon their plastic dependency and start innovating on the hardware side, too. Five years later iOS is still lacking even the most basic features ---- want to add an attachment WITHIN an email, anyone? Or care to delete a photo on your phone that wasn't taken with the camera? --- to say nothing of its lack of flourish and pizazz!!

The Great Android Migration is seriously under consideration by many of us who have been with Apple since Day One. Quite a few have already made the switch. Yet you rarely hear of anybody abandoning Android's OS to switch to Apple. That's in huge part because of this freakish inceremental update schedule that they have adopted, which MUST change; otherwise the heat from the competitors' rate of releases will cause Apple to fall way behind...UNLESS they reacquaint themselves with their roots and blow everybody out the water by truly INNOVATING with this next iPhone and iOS 6 release. If recent history is any indication I'm bracing myself for disappointment, however.

I'd really like to go, but tickets cost over a month's pay. While I work in IT, I doubt my boss would subsidize the cost. :(

Checked w/ my boss & they wouldn't subsidize as Apple had gotten rid of the IT track. :( And before anyone asks, my definition of IT is more of a how to set up OS X server, client & iOS devices for companies. Shame because I'm sure there are many tips & tricks I could pick up and make myself a better IT tech.

Apple used to have an IT track, but no longer. Makes sense, though. The "D" in WWDC does mean "Developer".

Don't feel sorry for me. Haven't JB my phone since VZ became available as a carrier, and I couldn't be happier. And I don't think anyone (i.e., Apple, the carriers, or me) really cares whether or when you stop jailbreaking your phone. Knock your socks off.

But a little bit of advice. Perhaps you should focus on what your what your iPhone is, rather than what it isn't. Beyond that, go buy something that is what you want.

there is something called customization

learn it and stop being such a follower

Based on the invite image, I think it's safe to say that Apple will rotate all iOS icons 45° when they release iOS 6.

Considering they haven't been doing that many refreshes at keynotes for Macs in the last 2 years ? No.

Hardware refreshes these days for the Mac line-up are mostly silent. Even the Mac Mini's case redesign didn't get a keynote. The last Mac hardware refresh that was in a keynote was the MBA at the "Back to the Mac" presentation in 2010 IIRC.

If there is a major redesign of the macs or they merge the Pro's and Air's into one line I could see that being announced. If its just an upgrade of the internals with no real change to look and feel then I'd agree they'd just update their website.

Just like the Mac Mini got a keynote for its new look right ? ;)

Well let's face it... the Mac Mini is the forgotten runt of the Mac family (along with the Mac Pro). It makes sense not to have announcements for those minor redesigns. The MBP on the other hand is their bread and butter. I could definitely see Apple using an event to display a new MBP, but it does depends on HOW different it is. As noted, if Apple completely ditches the MBA/MBP designation and creates a brand new design of simply "Macbook" in 11", 13" and 15" flavors, I think that would definitely require an event.

You know the iMac is due for a redesign too, so I could easily see Apple holding a combined event for the redesign of MBP and iMac.

Big pixels and little pixels. They're obviously going all-Retina, on everything. Or else it's just a nice colourful image that looks pretty.

No, I'm going with the Retina theory. More punchy. :p

Oh gosh!
I think I managed to buy a ticket!!!

Please, just answer to my quesion:

I could pay for a ticket via credit card (no idea why).
So I decided to pay for tickets via bank transfer.

I bough ticket and already sent money.

Apple can't cancel my purchase now, right?
I 'bought' ticket when I clicked "complete purchase" and not when they received money. Because bank transfer is slower than credit card...

I'm sure you're good. If you completed the transaction then you completed the transaction
