Where have you been lately, sleep? To the contrary it's Apple that's playing the role of copycat these days. Remember when they actually used to innovate? Now it's Android that's coming up with all the fresh ideas, particularly on the software side. Won't be long before they abandon their plastic dependency and start innovating on the hardware side, too. Five years later iOS is still lacking even the most basic features ---- want to add an attachment WITHIN an email, anyone? Or care to delete a photo on your phone that wasn't taken with the camera? --- to say nothing of its lack of flourish and pizazz!!

The Great Android Migration is seriously under consideration by many of us who have been with Apple since Day One. Quite a few have already made the switch. Yet you rarely hear of anybody abandoning Android's OS to switch to Apple. That's in huge part because of this freakish inceremental update schedule that they have adopted, which MUST change; otherwise the heat from the competitors' rate of releases will cause Apple to fall way behind...UNLESS they reacquaint themselves with their roots and blow everybody out the water by truly INNOVATING with this next iPhone and iOS 6 release. If recent history is any indication I'm bracing myself for disappointment, however.

That certainly is one deep, dark cave you have been living in!

The only innovation occurring at Google is developing new ways to steal other people's ideas; for example, Google Drive:

"Your Content in our Services: When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes that we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content.
The rights that you grant in this licence are for the limited purpose of operating, promoting and improving our Services, and to develop new ones. This licence continues even if you stop using our Services (for example, for a business listing that you have added to Google Maps)."

A few other "innovations" from the Android "platform:"

Bloatware
Camera software that doesn't save pictures
Fragmentation
Horrible multi-tasking that requires task management
Inaccurate touch interface
Inconsistent UI
High latency user interface
Lack of software updates
Malware
Poor battery life

All the data indicates that Android users are migrating to iOS rather iOS users migrating to Android.

does this mean we need to wait another month and a half before we see an iMac refresh or to see if Apple care to refresh their Mac Pro's anymore?

If so this is ridiculous. Would they announce new computers before holding this conference?

Multicolor Mac Pro!!

Edit:

I made a 5min background if somebody wants it:

You are awesome! :D

By the way, do you know of someone who has made a desktop wallpaper out of the new iPad's event? I'm talking about this:

AppleEventMar7.png

I've looked for it everywhere to no avail.

By the way, I centered your image, and darkened the color a bit to my tastes (it was off just a little), and also made this inversion.

Enjoy :)

I wonder if someone could do this on the Linen grey wallpaper used on the login screen, but in recessed or colored glass (i.e., slightly transparent) - I'm not that good with photoshop yet :p

well, I don't see why they won't announce a new product. Chances are, that they'll release mountain lion with a new product to accompany it, just like OS X lion. And they might go for broke and update the macbook airs, pros, mac pros, iMacs at the same time. I doubt all, but I'm guessing we'll get something.

Maybe this will be the best place to show the new iOS?
They usually do.

If it goes like last year, attendees will get a preview of the next-generation iOS at WWDC in June which will give both Apple engineering and third-party developers time to get up to speed/finish up development for the actual iOS release 2-3 months later, coinciding with the release of new phone hardware sometime in late summer/early fall.

Given the fact that WWDC is less than two months away and the relative dearth of iPhone rumors, it seems unlikely that the next generation handset would be announced at WWDC.

New Mac might show up though.

OK... cut and past has already been done so maybe we will be able to snooze reminders from the lock screen? Na... I'm probably wishing for to much!

I'm more excited for iOS 6 than a new iPhone.

I hope Apple will not disappoint.

I wonder if they'll bring it to 3GS? They are still selling it. That would be awesome.

I'm calling retina macs based off of the invite image

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the image. "The week we've all been waiting for"? Apple you cheeky, cheeky bastards :D . Methinks Apple has moles in the iMac forum ;). Man I'm excited. Even if the refresh isn't part of the conference I'm gassed to see what Apple's got up their sleeve. Though I've got a sneaking suspicion the new Macs are gonna be announced at the WWDC. The additional wait time's gonna be a killer, but a fun killer. And potential Retina iMacs as well? Hell yeah baby. Even if it's just a performance boost refresh it's still gonna be awesome to see it announced on the big stage. Cantwaitcantwaitcantwaitcantwaitcantwait...

Predictions:

Apple announces an iPhone 6.....which is exactly like the 4s except for the addition of the A5X processor. (The "6" stands for "6peed"!)

Apple discontinues the Mac pro and 17" macbook pro altogether.

Apple announces a new entry level desktop mac.....gen 1 i3, 256mb ram, 40gb HDD, and nothing user upgradable for $899.

Just like the Mac Mini got a keynote for its new look right ? ;)
Er, sorry big difference between all all aluminum mac mini and combining Macbook Pro's and Air's into one line of notebooks (obviously I'm just using this as an example). I wouldn't consider that a minor update.

----------

Well let's face it... the Mac Mini is the forgotten runt of the Mac family (along with the Mac Pro). It makes sense not to have announcements for those minor redesigns. The MBP on the other hand is their bread and butter. I could definitely see Apple using an event to display a new MBP, but it does depends on HOW different it is. As noted, if Apple completely ditches the MBA/MBP designation and creates a brand new design of simply "Macbook" in 11", 13" and 15" flavors, I think that would definitely require an event.

You know the iMac is due for a redesign too, so I could easily see Apple holding a combined event for the redesign of MBP and iMac.
Yep. I think it would all depend on how big the redesign is. Since the only product to have a major re-design in the past year+ was the iPad I would expect to see some major design changes this year. Unless the design team has spent all their time on the new iphone and a TV set.

Um, so that's why Apple introduced the iPhone 4 (all new design) at WWDC?

I doubt it. It's getting a little long in the tooth. Plus, It doesn't have an A4 or A5 proc in it. My guess: Apple drops the 3GS, drop the price of the iPhone 4 & 4S and release a new iPhone with an A5X. I'm hoping for an A6, but I doubt that'll happen.

logo seems like : intel color scheme

so meaning intel chipset refreshes in mac computers and possible retina displays.

----------

apple graphic designers beat most pro designers out there, damn they are good with arts and they know the value of such people in company, great art btw.

----------

i see intel colors, pixels, apps icon for ios stuff may be ios integration in os x latest iteration and apple, its about software for sure, the imac design is still iconic i cant expect a refresh in design.
