Steve would have made the world an even better place if he had possessed more faith in western medicine a bit earlier and not left us with Tim and Jony to destroy his legacy.

I'm amazed at comments like this. Steve, Tim and Jony were the top people at Apple. Two of the three are still there and you think Steve's legacy is being destroyed? Despite Jony being, in Steve's own words, his "Spiritual partner at Apple" and Tim Cook being personally asked by Steve Jobs to take over as CEO?

So it's apples fault that people sit on their $700 phones? Gotta love it...

Keep trolling. Apple doesn't need your business. Enjoy your garbage phones.

Why are you keeping insisting bended phones were because users sitting on their phones

It is Apple to blame not produce a phone that is not strong enough.

I agree that he should have listened to his doctors, but I understand why he didn't trust the medical industry.

Still remember like it was yesterday. Was Halloween shopping for my kids, text came in on my iPhone and I stopped in my tracks.

Texted my wife and told the nearest person to me; a dude working at the Halloween store. I swear the whole place stopped for a minute before they got back to business.

Again, Steve, we had our differences and I could not see myself working with you. Glad the respect was still there to the end.

Steve was really into alternative medicines and, from what I was told, despised the "disease business" that a lot of modern medicine has become. That is profiting from more people being ill than more people being healthy. Ironic how he passed away.

Indeed true and from what I have learned, you can thank the Rockefeller family for this act of evil when the bought up the entire medical industry during the great depression that they helped cause.

Maybe because Steve Jobs didn't change the world in any way at all?

Bwahahahahahah....

I love how neither you nor the original poster who claimed that Princess Diana left more of an impact on the world than Steve Jobs did bothered to cite any evidence to support your statements. Wrong people rarely do.

Right, let's just ignore the fact that a scientific test done by Consumer Reports basically invalidated this assertion and proved it takes over 100 lb. of force to bend a 6+. And never mind the fact that no one has been able to successfully replicate a phone bending in a pocket and actually prove it. Throw all that out the window and keep spreading lies.

Purely in terms of this issue, it's extremely frustrating that he passed away! The cancer industry jumped on his death like the vulture that it is to make alternative therapies look even more like snake oil. So they may have failed to save Steve, but does anybody ever stop to think of the lives conventional cancer treatment has failed to save? Steve had ample reason to look for other options first. If anything should be blamed, it shouldn't be the alternative therapies that he tried... it should be conventional medicine, which Steve was too smart to trust.

Dumb argument. There's not a single person that conventional cancer treatment didn't cure that "alternative therapies" would have. Alternative therapy, at least in the case of cancer, ARE snake oil. This is also the man who thought an all-fruit diet would make it unnecessary to shower.

Right... So scientific.. It does not even test iPhone's weak spot... By the way, iPhone 6 plus is in the second last spot... Such a superior product...

Either you are just ignoring the photo... Or you think everyone is lying

THAT is a dumb argument that you can't support. Unless you can somehow prove that all the testimonies of cancer survivors who healed using natural therapies are a hoax. Conventional cancer medicine is by definition destructive. The fact that you think that a sick person whose body didn't respond well to being cut, burned and/or poisoned was simply beyond help, instead of considering the possibility that being cut, burned and/or poisoned might have made them worse...?

Well, the marketing for conventional medicine has done its job well with you.

Their is a weak point in the design that was pointed out.

No phone survives a big arse sitting on it, so it's not Apple's fault.
BTW. Apple customers don't care. This whole thing is only of any importance to Android fans.

I love when people think they're somehow above "marketing" and imply superior knowledge that "the brainwashed masses" just don't understand. If Steve Jobs started REAL cancer treatment much earlier, he would have been cured or at least had a much better chance. Natural medicine may work for a head cold, but leave the cures for real ailments to the big boys. There is no scientific evidence that any natural therapies cure cancer other than word of mouth. Kinda like religion.

It's also the thinnest and largest. It's called physics. Keep disregarding actual facts and keep pushing your stupidity. It's really working.

It is certainly not the largest... So there you go... When you making a thin and large phone, you should add some structures to make sure it not bending...

Not all bending from sitting... And I actually sitted on my phone before and I am over 200 pounds... And my phone is not broken... It is called iPhone 5C

If you want to celebrate the man, you use his birthday. This whole "death anniversary" is really, really creepy.

His birthday wasn't of any importance to anyone in the world (not even Mr. and Mrs. Jobs, whe surely cared about the date he was adopted, but not the day he was born).

----------

Or maybe these "zombies" know a superior product when they see one? Im sorry, but as much as you want to believe Apple customers are brainwashed zombies, you don't get millions of people to shell out big money for premium electronics unless you make a damn good product. And they do.

I always find it amazing how these people think that anyone could be "brainwashed" into buying Apple products. Thinking logically about it, if Apple "brainwashed" people into buying iPhones, they surely could brainwash them to buy one iPhone in every available colour, right? Triple revenue (or five times the revenue in the case of the 5c).

How exactly are you suggesting that someone would prove a negative? Jobs founded a company that makes some nice gadgets. Big deal. Nobody would be any different off even if he hadn't.

Tim was and is Steve's choice to run Apple after he stepped down and from what I remember of Issacson's book, Steve didn't want Apple to be run on the basis of people trying to divine 'What would Steve do?'. This ain't to say I've agreed with everything Tim has done but that said not everything Steve did or shepherded to market was perfect either (Apple HiFi anyone?).

Tim Cook said in a recent interview something like "I'm not trying to be a bad Steve Jobs, but a good Tim Cook". Trying to be Steve Jobs would be a sure way to fail.

----------

Let's be clear. Steve would have said anything about the iPhone as a differentiator. If other phones were a different size, 3.5 was perfect. If all the other phones had one kind of screen - his had another. If all other phones had X - his phone had Y and it was better.

It's was never a question of what he believed. It was a matter of smart marketing.

It should also be obvious that whatever Steve Jobs thought was the best possible product in 2011, wouldn't have been what he would have thought was the best possible product in 2014.

Big friggin IF. Because of course, no cancer patient has ever died under the "care" of conventional medicine who immediately entrusted themselves to the "big boys," right?

No, of course not... only the thousands of people who are employed by Apple and all its competitor companies (whose products wouldn't even exist if they weren't competing w/ Apple)... all the developers who make their livelihood creating apps for device platforms... all the people employed by the companies that supply Apple and competitors with materials and parts... all the educational institutions that make money from students wanting to be engineers, programmers, artists for an industry that Apple, more than any other company, helped define... all the businesses, small and large, that take advantage of mobile computing to survive and thrive... all the people employed by social media companies whose popularity soared with the advent of the App Store... all the people whose relationships are enriched by the forms of communication that computers and mobile devices provide, whose jobs and lives are made easier by the apps created for those devices...

Yeah. Steve Jobs... all he did was make some gadgets.

The only way to know a person beat cancer is when they die from something else.
