Now Tim Cook being fired or stepping down... That WOULD be a day to remember! :)

I've grown SICK and tired of him. He should've been gone a long time ago. Along with Ive. I just saw an article on 9to5Mac today that iOS 11 has some glaring UI mistakes and it's made me wonder since Craig was in charge of iOS development, who is exactly to blame. I'm wondering if he got pressured to get it out the door and mistakes got made, OR Cook/Ive didn't notice them and 'greenlighted' it. So Ive's in charge of iOS design along with Marketing, but Craig is part of its development. And everything ends up at Cook's desk for final approval ( ie. thumbs up or thumbs down ).

Someone high up on the chain screwed up. This could end up as another 'Maps' fiasco leading to another head being rolled.

Cook should run for president already and leave the company to true visionaries.

Why do you have this odd aversion to Tim stating something that Steve Jobs himself stated many times regarding Apple's stance on Apple customers' privacy? Is there something specific about Tim that bothers you or makes you uncomfortable, as the message is the same? Do you think SJ would have folded to the FBI or the online advertisers?

He’s not gone and this is the cook era for Apple, and this will be a telling quarter.

Elaborate!

two major things that effect me:
  • when opening a messages thread from the lock screen by swiping from left to right, the messages thread opens with the keyboard up but the message thread isnt scrolled. I cannot scroll the messages, in other words i cant seen the messages behind the keyboard, nor can i see the send button or fill field. This is constant
  • when there is multiple emails on the lock screen if i use 3d touch to 'mark as read' it marks that email as read but removes the notification for all the emails on the lcokscreen, even if i swipe from bottom to top.

i'm pretty surprised how half baked iOS 11 feels on my iPhone 7+

Yes! I had the GM spontaneously reboot (crash), text writing outside the notification bubble on the home screen, Messages scroll stuck so that I can scroll to the last message. And, sometimes when I swipe a mail to left all of the options buttons are missing (just a blank white area). Pretty basic stuff that should have never made it past QA. But, I guess when they set a date, they gotta keep it no matter how obviously buggy the software is.

I'm more inclined to remember the song September by Earth, Wind & Fire than iOS 11 being released on a day in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand & Seventeen. I forget where I put my keys more times than I'd like to admit.

Yea I’ll remember it as the day they actually made iOS worse. I’m referring to the pointless removal of 3D Touch multitasking and the wishlist in the App Store.

they have to make space under the screen for touchID to make a triumphant return ;)

Any cool new ARKit apps hit the store yet? I'm specifically interested in tape measure apps, as well as some fun apps that place models like dinosaurs and such into real spaces that I can play around with my kid. Wasn't sure if more would be coming once iOS 11 is officially available. It's kind of hard to find them because there's no Augmented Reality category, which I feel is a missed opportunity. Maybe they want to add that category once there are more available on the store, but many of us are really interested in trying things out and I thought the new App Store design was supposed to make it easier to find stuff?

I do think iOS 11 is a game changer for mobile. ARkit is a huge thing, and September 19th is the day our journey began. This will be unforgettable.
I think we are embarking on something new and potentially very cool with ARkit. But it sounds like I should wait a few weeks and let some more things get polished up before I start on the journey myself.

Oh it’ll be a day to remember that’s for sure. The day Apple decided things we purchased? he doesn’t think we should use them any more. It’s called “Planned Obsolescence” - just like your computer and iPad. 5 years then throw it away even though it works perfect.

Since iTunes 12.7 took away the right for us to backup our own devises by removing the App Store why not kill off hundreds of thousands of those apps while were at it ?

We have close to 3,000 ranging from free to as high as $170 purchase price. When beta 5 came out I got a little surprise on my new iPad Pro housing them all.
“1.877 apps were removed as they were not compatible”. Wtf?

iOS 11 hits educational apps and kids games the hardest. Some of the school grade apps are $170 per school grade (1. 2, , etc) and then they charge a fee per year too.

Don’t do it. It’s not worth loosing 1/3rd of your purchases especially things your kids need and use for school.

I’m surprised he had time to show up or say anything. Isn’t there a “cause” somewhere needing your activists’ attention Tim? Some gay day parade you need to speak at? (It’s ok I’m a fag. It’s ok for fags to poke other fags in the eye.) Oh that’s right this weekend is Folsom Street fair. I forgot. See ya there! Don’t forget your leather

My keys are always in my purse. Just don't ask me where my purse is. ;)
