That there is FUNNY stuff. Cook and company just love to tell everyone how many subscribers Apple Music has...but when it comes to iPhones, Watches, and Home Pods...nope, no way, that's private stuff.

I absolutely adore my iPhone X. Its sooooooooo intuitive. Face ID removes all those complex mechanics introduced with the Home button and Touch ID; and just starts you off on a fluid journey everyday.

It sure as hell was an expensive buy, but its a worthy upgrade coming from my 6s. Although my original intension was to get the iPhone 8 Plus for the larger screen, I don't regret it; but I don't think I will be in the market for a new iPhone anytime soon.

More on the intuitiveness, I love the swipe gestures to view my open apps or just swipe across at the bottom to switch to apps on the fly. The design is sleek and the picture quality is up there. It is an all around great phone and I think we are just seeing the beginning here of whats to come. There is so much innovation in it thats gonna pollinate the iPad and the Mac in the coming years.

With iPhone ASP this quarter at $728 it is obvious that iPhone X was not more popular than iPhone 8. They count iPhone 8 and iPhone 8+ separately. If they had two iPhone X sizes that would make sense (and they both would probably lose to their iPhone 8 counterparts). So, iPhone X is not the most popular model. iPhone 8 is.

yep a superbowl winner that didn't cover the spread is still a winner

I wonder if and how much more the combined 8 and 8s sales numbers were than the X sales.

Shocker! People wanted the newer form factor over a 4 year old form factor!

Someone should mention that, or how andriod now commands Asian and Europe. Someone kick the fool out of the room

Their suppliers already know those numbers.

Another thing that's happening is they're buying back their own shares, to the tune of almost 10% of their market cap. That's never a good sign. Coupled with a rising dividend, that's called just trying to prop up their share price. So sad.

Anecdotally, tech savvy friends got the iPhone X and love it. Non-tech savvy friends/family got the iPhone 8 & 8 Plus.

Especially with all of the iPhone 8 BOGO deals, it’s hard for normal people to justify the high price the iPhone X.

I'm very tech savvy and thought the X was a joke from "Ho Ho HO!" to finish and that's why it's being discontinued.
Only rich niche groupie snobs loved it.

The production facts prove what Tim Cook says is a lie. I'm sure Apple made much more profit on the iPhone X, but it certainly wasn't the best selling item and if it was, Timmy must have bought just enough to make it! LOL

OK, great. Which companies publicly disclose those numbers? Three or four would be fine.

Automobile manufacturers post those numbers weekly, monthly, yearly.

Another deflection. How about Apple competitors who make phones?

""During today's earnings call covering the second fiscal quarter of 2018, Apple CEO declined to provide specific information on iPhone X sales, but he did suggest that the new device has been selling well, a major contrast to reports that have suggested poor sales and waning orders."

I don't see the contrast. The news reports about waning orders from suppliers correlate to procurement for future manufacturing, whereas the quarter reported today was for sales of the past three months.
Plus "selling well" could mean more than 1000 sales lol.
Usual Apple vagueness trying to dodge a bullet with specific questions.

Unfortunately- with the high price of the iPhone X being a success, (for Apple) we've only encouraged them to continue jacking up the price. The $USD 1500 iPhone is near.

I still wish very strongly that they would keep a wee bit of this stock buyback and dividend increase and make a new Airport.
I'll never get over that they killed it yet boast about new watch band colors.

You do realise if Tim Cook was to put out false statements in this setting he could end up in jail? You can be absolutely sure that iPhone X is the best selling iPhone. Sorry the production leaks were about as reliable as ever - i.e. not at all reliable.

We've only encouraged them to continue making incredible new products. Price is irrelevant. We all want the best products and the financial success Apple continues to enjoy ensures we will continue getting the best products.

As an iPhone owner for 10 years I do enjoy mine. Cant really say I get that excited over any smartphone and its tech as much as I use to, but I still enjoy the user experience the iPhone X brings.

iPhone X truly is the best product Apple has ever made. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't bought one yet.

If iPhone X was such a big seller why doesn’t he release the numbers to prove it. I don’t believe a word Cook says.

Tim Cook is not going to lie about this kind of information. It's a very serious offence to lie or put our misleading investor information. I know it disappoints some people that iPhone X is a Super Bowl Winner product, but the facts are now in. The production leaks were all BS.

IPhone X is just an incredible product, I’m not shocked by the fact it’s a hit.

Me neither. It's easily worth the money, in fact I would have willingly paid double for it.

I think the critics have never owned iPhone X because that's the only way you can criticise it - pure blind envy.

The only risk with removing the Home button is that it might be a bit harder to use for "dumb" users.
