Well smaller phone -> smaller battery. What did you expect?

But even with half the time 6hours of usage should be more than enought to get through the day.

Obviously it isn't, though, for many. Hence this atrocity of a case :)
Regardless, the size difference does not justify the 50% batter life lost. This is definitely something Apple should look at for their next models.

It's a product released to get some last minute sales before the holidays probably to push Q2 numbers.
If that's the case than it's even more scarry and for a couple of reason:
1) they really think this thing can raise numbers
2) there are number to be raised in the first place.... meaning a not so good Q

EDIT:
"But if you're out hiking ......" your iPhone can have a backpack too....how cute is that!!!

You echo my sentiments.

I'm embarrassed by my Apple products these days. When I got my original iPad on Day 1, I was so proud to show it off. Now, I try to avoid talking about Apple.

This battery case makes a mockery of Apple. I feel they need a year of failure in order to learn from it.

I'm one of those who think it is time for Tim and Jony to go. Apple needs an innovative, computer-oriented CEO to return them to the days of great machinery and excellent software.

How does a company walk away from the massive margins and profits
that Tim and Jony's iGizmo and iAccessory regime has generated?

I don't know about Ive getting the heave ho, but I will say that there's more to design and innovation then making a product thinner. In an odd twist, this case, does the complete opposite and in a particularly ugly way as well.

What poor battery life? My 6+ gets over 12 hours of usage per charge. What are you doing to not get over at least a day with that? I often go through 3 days with it...

Guess you failed to read the article ? This discussion is about the 6/6S battery case not the 6+

I'm a little surprised they haven't started spinning this as a tribute to Paris and showing they're in unity with the city after the attacks by calling it the Quasimodo case. It could piggyback on their Project Red efforts. They could contribute a percentage of all the Quasimodo case sales directly to the city of Paris. Then they would have an Apple-like explanation for the monstrosity.

Mine arrived today, and to my surprise it's not as ugly as I'd expected.
It's feel good in the hand, not as heavy as I thought it would be.

I bought it to use whilst marathon training as my Garmin has just bitten the dust , and
as we all know the iPhone battery doesn't long whilst using GPS.

All in all I quite like it.

I couldn't agree more. Off topic but for instance what a ******* mess the computer line has become. Want to buy a upgradeable Apple Dektop Computer with decent specs and not some glued and soldered together POS with mobile parts? Or don't want a big 27 screen attached to it? Well, you are out of luck. WTF.

But then on the other hand offering roughly 18 (or at lest it feels that way) different laptop models.

That hideous case made news on several online news magazines I have read. They all pretty much reflected most of the comments here.

This thread just jumped the shark.

Of course Tim Cook is going to not call it any derogatory names! He APPROVED THIS HIDEOUS iHump of notre dame atrocity!

Apple does what they do best! Hypocrites!

Wait, let's just ask what Steve thinks?
the fact I iY

Steve? Steve!? ......Are you having to talk out loud and annoying when yyking here's only ????

Jebus! What's the big fargin' deal? Apple has designed and produced ugly stuff before. Sometimes function can take precedence. Is that the end of the world? Steve Jobs was very good as a leader, he was not an an industrial designer... stop with the "Steve would never" stuff. Steve did. This seems functional and accomplishes what heavy users need, more battery all day long. I personally never run out of juice all day and all night with my iPhone 6 so I don't need it, but I'm buying one right now for my daughter who is at school and will run out of juice from time to time. My only complaint is that it is expensive and the headphone jack. For $99 they could have included and actual passthrough piece of hardware.

Your daughter should not need this...in school she should NOT be using the phone, hence saving battery life ;);)

Jebus the fargin' deal it's that it's fargin' ugly and does NOT solve any problem that were't solved by better alternative.

Mike. Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike. Mike check out my new case.

Kinda funny how hopefully in a few years assuming Geico no longer airs the camel this comment will make zero sense...honestly took me a second or two, I don't think I've seen it at all recently?

And why I never bought an iPhone? First is the battery life and second is the unnecessarily large bezels. My 5.2" droid turbo is the same size as my wifes iPhone 6. Yes the turbo is thicker but I can get about three days out of a charge. It seems like she always has her iphone plugged in to charge.

I think Tim saying out loud the word "hump" was a PR disaster. It's acknowledging the elephant is in the room and asking people politely to ignore it.

As for the beautiful case and people harping on about how they do not want FAT THICK 1mm thicker iPhones, 4s was 9.3mm, 5 was 7.6mm, 6s is 7.1mm. Have people really hurt their backs trying to put the FAT THICK 4s off the table and complained loudly "if only it was two milimetres thinner my experience would be far superior"? Also the battery is not as thick as the phone. I failed to find dimensions of the 6s battery, but that additional 1 mm would most probably add 20-25% to its life. (And make the camera not protrude.)

Oh well. In the meantime we have the h... sorry Tim... bump.

I can see it, Jony was just drawing the back of this cover when a cough attack made his Apple Pencil slip and design this "hump", a sneeze and he pressed the send button to Tim....

Never let Jony design when he is sick!!!

And this is why Apple makes ugly accessories that the masses will buy. Many Apple fans try to justify a purchase like the quote above because they are brainwashed into thinking they need to keep buying this garbage. You (above post) are training for a marathon, not playing angrybirds and texting your girlfriend. Whatever, it's your money ... you can flush it down the toilet if that floats your boat.

If they had come up with something that looked amazing, but wasn't so practical, I wonder how long it would have taken for the "Apple are all style over substance" type criticism.

The problem involves sticking extra battery to the phone - I'm not sure there is a way of doing that without it somehow involving some extra bulk.
