I can't wait for new macs but then comes the arduous journey of convincing my company i am in need of a new computer. I've been slyly dropping hints my computer is dying. I'm sure they see through me....le sigh

Of course they care. If they didn't I'd be very surprised. I work in marketing and every agency I go to, including Google, all use Macs. Even if they don't bring huge profits or have the sales volume of iPhone, they are an integral part of dominating the industry.

Apple started as a computer company (I think anyway!) and need to remain close to that core. Mac buyers are probably more loyal, affluent and likely to buy accessories and other Apple products.

Dear Impatient Mac People:

No new Mac products will be announced until Sierra is ready to ship. Duh.

They won't announce and release new Mac products and then ship them with the already-outdated El Capitan. Double-duh!
So no software updates in* ...

iMac 332 days
Macbook Pro 479 days
Macbook Air 550 days
Mac Mini 694 days
Mac Pro 995 days

Stop being a shill

Yeah, they are very committed. To late Tim. I switched.

To be fair iMac is still in a healthy upgrade cycle interval, but in general those numbers are bad. Especially Mac Pro.

I don't understand why did they bring the manufacturing back to the us. I imagine they don't make a lot of those 3 year old mac pros.

So are we thinking Apple moved all of its best engineers to the car project and left the actual products generating revenue/utility to people's daily lives to everyone else?

How is El Capitan outdated?

But the core MAC user base used to be power PRODUCTIVE professional. They have mostly all moved on, because Apple has been giving them the middle finger for the better part of a decade now. Apple is into mass appeal, good enough, lowest common denominator, biggest possible margins mode now.
