I wonder how "rude" emails are on why the Mac Pro, Mac mini, iMac, and MacBook Air have been delayed? Oh that's right they forgot about it.

The demanding tone of the customer's e-mail was incredibly rude. However valid his frustration, there's no excuse for that.

Why didn't apple work on audio quality? Your audio experience isn't going to be better than wired audio buds.
Agreed. Bluetooth audio quality pretty much sucks regardless. I haven't yet listened to a pair (even the expensive BT ones) that sounds anywhere as good as wired ones.

This really is lame, "a few weeks" coincides with either making the Christmas/holiday deadline, or not

It's a marketing trick to keep the faithful from purchasing other products.
Oldest trick in the book.

You're really struggling here to justify being rude or unprofessional. First, it's not necessarily about adding any words. It could be fewer words. It's about tone. But to address your point of "wasting time;" it doesn't take any extra time for someone to read, in this case, two extra words "Please" and "Thanks." And, I am confident you have a distinctly minority opinion in that people feel "disrespected" and are intolerant when you are polite to them and use professional, classy, friendly, nice, whatever you want to call it, language.

Apple screwed up by announcing a product, then saying it'll be out in October, then saying its not ready and nothing further. Forgive people for wanting some answers on a product that was announced almost 2 months ago with a giant ? as a release date. It would be different if they said....coming this winter or coming this fall like they do with software. Being CEO come with responsibility of having a thick skin so I'm sure Timmy wasn't offended.

I guarantee if the email started off with "Please, would you mind...." , there would be ZERO response.

How is few weeks that vague? Been out in the world much? Few is 2 or 3. Few weeks is certainly less than a month.

YES, Tim Cook isn’t choosing a personal email as the way of disclosing a product’s exact release date. Shocking.
Agreed. Bluetooth audio quality pretty much sucks regardless. I haven't yet listened to a pair (even the expensive BT ones) that sounds anywhere as good as wired ones.
I’ve heard plenty of them that sound better than Apple’s wired EarPods. Not a great feat, mind, but the AirPods aren’t supposed to be an audiophile’s wet dream either. They are supposed to sound nice enough for regular folk like me, and have those bluetooth perks.

the 5 people who will buy this are upset - who still buys non noise isolating headphones?

Hope I am wrong. And will the launch per-order or be available in Apple stores?

Good question. The pre-order will most certainly occur online and One would assume You would be able to preorder in store as well. But given the hype and demand for these, the Airpods ship date will slip rapidly and likely be back ordered for months.

The demanding tone of the customer's e-mail was incredibly rude. However valid his frustration, there's no excuse for that.

How was it rude? It was frank, I'll give you that. He didn't call Mr. Cook a liar or any other names; he simply vented his frustration. Let's be honest. Any CEO that is going to make such a "courageous" move as to remove an industry standard and then declare how great wireless is going to be, but then oversees a delay that now appears to continue beyond the biggest giving holiday in the world, is going to receive some frustration-based criticism.

While I probably would have taken a slightly more 'ambassadorial' approach, I certainly wouldn't conclude that the message was 'rude'--simply factual.

I can't decide what is a bigger failure. Removing the headphone jack or releasing these wireless earpods. Both laughable.

It was very direct. Tim of all people should be able to take the criticism. He didn't name call but instead made it very black and white of what he was asking.

wish I would have seen this prior to posting. I'm sure there are many similar sentiments to follow. My thoughts exactly.

I would not say it was rude, its just the kind of tone you have to take with Apple at the moment, they are making some very bad missteps which just ain't good enough for a company the size they are. Like when your kids misbehave and your tone changes when you speak to them, its not rude, its just putting across that they have done something bad, like not release the Airpods within a reasonable time frame in relation to the iPhone 7 launch that is designed around using them.

I have done the email to Tim before but with a less harsh tone but Apple were not messing things up so much as they are now, and i was surprised to get a response, coupled with them offering Apple employees to come visit and then a few of the features i needed being put in iOS 9.

ahh a 'few weeks' is still vague.
Few = Adjective - synonyms:a small number, a handful, one or two, a couple, two or three or more

I think they are delayed because apple keep losing them.

So maybe they are working on a new app called Find My Airpods.

You're wrong. It was a direct email. I personally believe that's why Cook responded. Request. Problem. Remedy. That's all Cook needs. His reply was equally direct. As it should have been. It's business. This wasn't an email between life long friends or a couple in a relationship. It was a vendor/customer correspondence. It was a simple "I have a problem with something you did/didn't do. What are you going to do about it because I can buy someone else's product."

I'm sure they get obsequious love letters to Apple all the time. That wasn't the time for one.

How do we know he even responded to this email. It's probably a generic response to any question relating to the airpods.

He way to busy to respond to these emails. He probably has assistants that do that all day long.

Many customers are anxiously anticipating the release of Apple's wireless AirPods, originally slated to launch in October but later delayed. Fortunately, the wait may soon be over.

MacRumors has been forwarded an email in which Apple CEO Tim Cook, responding to a customer, allegedly said he anticipates AirPods to begin shipping "over the next few weeks."MacRumors has verified the email's full headers appear to originate from Apple's corporate servers, while Apple executives are known to respond to customers on occasion, but as a boilerplate disclaimer, it should be noted these emails can of course be faked. Apple did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Apple has so far only said it needed "a little more time" before AirPods are ready for customers, while conflicting rumors have pointed towards release dates between December and January, offering little clarity. AirPods remain listed as both "coming soon" and "currently unavailable" on different sections of Apple's website.
