Not sure. 9to5mac reported it would be different, but as you said and as I've seen also on the Swedish site the button looks the same with the Siri icon.

Perhaps the early plan was to have two different remotes, looking correct as to the function of the button, since not all would have Siri and then they figured out that would be just stupid since eventually everyone in due time will get Siri and it's dumb to have two different versions of the same remote. Who knows...

They may add Siri to more countries in the future, so it would be a good idea to sell the same remote with the Siri icon even where Siri is not (yet) available

Set-top box is so 2010. In 2015 you can buy Smart TV that comes with apps and you need zero cables. If you want to play then connect PS4.

Apple is getting really tired when they release stuff like this. They used to innovators now they re-release old technology. I had first set-top box in 1982.

Lol dude we don't want the apps on the tv. That's why we buy streaming boxes, we like the speed, app design, apps, App Store, AirPlay, photos etc. And when it's time to upgrade we just change the box and not the tv.

Sounds like you don't understand much at all.

Sorry too tired to go through the whole thread so not sure if someone answered already. Finn here too and I've played with the new ATV. Siri works only with US (or the other supported language) accounts. So if I used Finnish account it automatically disables it. Logging to US account enables it. Language settings don't matter. Extremely annoying.
This is enraging beyond words if true. Why should it give a **** about my account location? I am just fine using english as both my system-wide language setting as well as Siri and this works just fine with my iPhone.

Completely agree.

Source? Siri even works in Thailand, let alone all other English speaking countries. And with the Apps, it shouldn't matter which country you are from. It's 100% contents freely available for everyone.

At least developer preview disables Siri if you login with Finnish iTunes account. Have to login with US account to get it working.

What?
Why do you buy atv if you don't want apps on your tv? Ain't that the point?

What speed? Speed of the time apple releases new atv?

I've had in my tv Spotify, Netflix Hbo, Photos, streaming from computer, MKV support from usb, etc for years now. I doubt that atv2 will support MKV that happens to be de facto standard of online video ;) Can you plug usb to it or do you need computer to stream files?

I said: Siri play Be yourself and get:

So, for me Siri keeps picking different names from my contacts for face time.
Doesn't matter which song I ask for.

My accent is also pretty bad. Can't imagine there's worse but I still got this:

I missed your post.
That is extremely annoying for me, I don't want to change my account since I have some movies in my library.
Let's hope they can fix this in a future release of tvOS, I can use Siri in english on my phone so I'd expect to do the same on my Apple TV

My Sony late 2014 Bravia 4K TV upscales everything - And it works pretty well imho. Even DVDs look great. Looks better than the same content on my 1080P Samsung TV.

Thanks! I don't particularly care if there's not enough native 4k content. I have more than enough of my own content that if the up-scaling works as advertised a $1,400 65 or 70 inch 4k TV that has high contrast and true blacks would be a worthy upgrade.

Have you looked at one in store? I found some TVs had better upscalers worked better than others (As in different brands), and Ive constantly been impressed at even SD content looking nice, and blu-rays look great.

No, I've never seen a proper demo of upscaling in a store. All they ever show is that lame loop where it does the quick wipe between SD/4k.

Have a proper look in store as my perception might be different to yours. I got a variety of media (including FTA TV) demoed as I wasn't quite sure if the 4K path was where I wanted to go.

In my opinion 1080P and even 720p and lower looks better on a 4K screen when properly upscaled, then it does on a 1080p screen.

I think I'm goign to pass on this apple TV. The same people who said HD wasn't needed are going to defend apple's choice to not use 4K, but for me, it is needed. i'm going to need to use my smart tv interface... so still waiting...

You don't need 4K it is something that you and everyone who complains about lack of having it, wants. Let's get this straight.

Still 32Gb is quite a bit of storage if you don't plan on putting apps/games or movies on it.

Just trying to think what else could eat the storage

I'm having a similar dilemma. I'm leaning towards the 64gig but I'm not sure what I would fill it with. Another user said app size limit is 200 megs and most apps unless a game won't be near that size. So this leaves me with tons of free space not knowing what can be stored on it.

Apple never came out and said we can use the storage for video, music or pictures like how it was on the first Apple TV. So I'm stuck wondering if we can. I don't want to get the 64 gig and it ends up being only for apps, screen savers and the OS.

I want to know if we can actually store multimedia on it. Does anyone have this confirmation? Or someone who has a dev kit can confirm?

Yes, but what percentage of Apple's customers (and potential customers) will have 4K TVs? Apple's customers tend to be affluent early adopters... the same people buying 4K TVs.

I don't have a 4K TV yet... but I'm planning on getting one soon and I'm a bit bummed the new ATV doesn't have support for it. For one thing... just having it there will generate a lot of new 4K content which is sorely needed...

4K content isn't something needed, it is something people want. Which is why I'm going to buy myself the 55" 1080p oled tv from LG. The one that cnet said was the best tv they've ever seen last year and they recommended it over the best 4K tv they've seen this year which is also another oled LG TV, simply because when you sit a distance away you cannot really tell the difference in quality with moving videos and the price is cheaper.

If you plan on sitting really close to a 55" or other big screen tv then sure get your 4K. You'd probably get tired of sitting so close to your tv real quick. It's like sitting all the way up front in the movie theater, the experience isn't best when compared to sitting a little distance away.

well the lg oled is a 4k set - but the up-scaling on it is AMAZING. and i agree OLED beats led/lcd hands down

LG also sells a 55" 1080p oled tv just so you know and picture quality is almost identical to the 4K counterpart, while being cheaper. It was also rated the best tv cnet has ever seen last year, and they also recommended it over the 4K version this year because it's cheaper and you have to sit really close to the 4K version to notice any difference in quality.

Oh I'm sorry I was lazy. I meant the MacBook Pro.
I hate sitting at a desk in my home office.

This is my dream.

Make sure to keep an eye on Apple Insider's price guide. I picked up the previous year's model (new), for $750 off retail.

Sounds like you're going to have a very Apple year. :)

Can't wait for the new AppleTV. I really think Apple is correct on the Apps angle and if developers take off with it (which I would think they will) this could be a huge product for them in the long run.

I agree that apps on the Apple TV are a good thing. That said, and perhaps it's simply my lack of imagination, but what kind of apps do you see developers creating that people will want to use on the TV? Games are obvious, but the new Apple TV is a pretty weak console, so I don't think we'll see anything particularly compelling or "must have" in the game arena. Media players are obvious too. Plex, VLC, etc. But beyond that? What do you want do on your TV via apps? I'm curious.

Then you don't need this product. Why are you wasting your time talking about it?

We use our Apple TV every day. Our family is VERY excited about it, and how we can do things like have family game night where we can play games like Crossy Road with multiple people on the TV so everyone can watch.

But you could have been doing this with competing products for years now.
