It is possible for Apple to include the same dual camera system in the 4.7" model or does the smaller size actually prevent this?

I think it's interesting that the 6S+ was the only one to get OIS but all of a sudden it's introduced to the 4.7" model this year. Is this just Apple's way of driving costumers to go with the Plus model?
Yes, it is possible. They will do that.

A recent rumour has it will be an exclusive of the Plus model even next year.
I'd buy the plus for the camera alone, but let's wait and see

The comments in this post.......this place has gotten completely ridiculous. Another 50 comment pages of dumpster fire. Sometimes I wish we could just delete the Internet and start over.

Love the coverage MacRumors provides. Can't stand the forums any more. I think I'm out for good. This community has gone nowhere but downhill.

You may not be missed at all.

I always have had iPhones, never owned an android device. Very happy with my iPhone 6S (although i think its design is hideous). But when I look at the screen quality and low light images some of my android friends make, I have to admit their better. Hopefully iPhone 7 catches up.

It's unfair to judge these images as they have been compressed for online use. However, it appears that they have been edited to boost saturation and sharpness to some degree. Access to the RAW files would be far more useful.

Compression certainly won't help but I do feel the sample images don't look as bad as they have done on my 6s Plus.

I know there are a plethora of apps widely available for tweaking images pre and post shot but I do think Apple are missing a trick not letting the end consumer alter things like white balance, ISO without having to resort to a third party.

So all I have to do is hire a Sports Illustrated professional photographer and my pictures will look like this too?

right.... BS.

No. I posted the original article and the pics look alot better.
[doublepost=1473664590][/doublepost]I posted the article before and the pictures look better straight from that site.

Welcome to Apple haters site.

These look like snapshots anyone could snap with a 5-year-old smartphone if they had access to the sidelines.

But since they're done with an iPhone then they're magical.

It won't give me the full resolution picture when I click on it (tried two browsers), so I can't really tell how good they are.

Ah I love the new camera posts, suddenly the fanboys and haters alike all have been professional photographers for years.

The pics look good. It's a phone, not a DSLR, and I am not attempting to get featured in National Geographic or any other media. If you are, then you should look further than a smartphone camera. Any improvement on my personal pictures is fine by me. Quit acting like the pics are supposed to rival that of a $3,000+ setup.

If they'd put the double camera in the 4.7" model, and included the wireless 'phones in the box, I might have been tempted. But for now my 6S is just perfect for me.

It's a combination of low photographic standards + Apple fanboyism. People here get offended and insecure when they're informed that the phone they pre-ordered at 3AM won't be be a massive improvement.
You're in the wrong forum mate.
Yeah, let's say how bad the photos are instead of just appreciating the fact that the cameras in the phones are quite possibly some of the best ever put into a phone. Nope, let's just focus on the negative and constantly spew garbage about how terrible Apple and their products are. This is ridiculous, and I'm fed up with the negativity.

Dumpster fire is a great way to put it. Most of the comments on MR have been literal sewage for the last few months, and the anti-Apple circlejerk here is getting extremely annoying. Nothing Apple does is good. They're damned if they do, damned if they don't in every situation. Why are half these people on an Apple centric FAN SITE if they just want to take a massive dump on everything Apple?

I'm pretty well done with this. The anti-Apple crowd is getting in my nerves. To some of the people on here: Stop being so negative about everything and just, for once, look at the positive without having to bring your ridiculous pessimism and anti-Apple circlejerk with you. No one appreciates your negativity, and you can leave if you have nothing constructive to say.

Nice post. This thread is a typical example of that. Trolls everywhere. Reads worse than YouTube comments at times - minus the cursing, which I wish they allowed here.

Completely agree. I'm not even sure how they will sort this site out as it's gotten ridiculous.

I wouldn't go that far, but I would say that a professional photographer with any modern smartphone could have taken these. While I'm sure the camera on the new iPhone 7 definitely rocks, I don't see these photos as anything exemplary. They're GOOD, but not exemplary.

Am I the only one not seeing anything special here?

I have the iPhone 7 Plus on order, and I'm sure the camera will be great. But these photos don't really show anything spectacular compared to my 6S Plus.

Unless you are telling me they were shot from the parking lot using the telephoto lens.

Ok for a phone. They should really have a word with all these social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat about compressing photos. You can have a great photo ending up looking like crap once it's downsampled on the web.

Agree completely. These images are not at all impressive with the compression that has gone on here. They are incredibly over sharp and not particularly clean in detail. The parachute and players bench ones are slight exceptions.

Again, agree completely. Will be good to get some more in the wild shots and see some links to unedited / uncompressed shots.

I'm sure it is compression issues as I've been blown away at how good the photos are on my iPhone 6 and this will be a leap above that for sure. Also, we don't know how much post processing happened here, I hope a lot for how sharp they look.

Having RAW will be amazing, can't wait to get to use the 7.

I don't understand all the trolls out here :D complaining about the photos. I guess we have to wait and get our own hands on the camera. I'm very excited about the ability to shoot RAW. Since it's what I do when I take pictures with my Fuji. I always loved the cameras of the iPhones and I'm really looking forward in shooting with the iPhone 7+. I'm not a professional photographer, it's just a hobby, but I've seen a lot of "professional" photographers that take worse pictures than me.. As far as what I've seen, the photos look great! Can't wait to test it in low light :) btw. here are some of mine: www.500px.com/pixelements

Depth of field looks amazing
That is a function of wide-angle lenses. These types of short-focal-length lenses lessen the need for more intricate (and space requiring) focussing mechanisms, and are therefore used by many point-and-shoot cameras and most cellphone cameras.

These pictures look great, but are admittedly taken under ideal circumstances, i.e. bright daylight. They are excellent if no cropping is needed. A quick zoom-in confirms that. Overall still impressive though!
