Dear trolls, general pedantics, fault-finders and general right-all-the-time folk:

Had you actually WATCHED the keynote and HEARD what they said, you'll remember Schiller saying "We are not saying you should throw out your dSLR".

It's a PHONE CAMERA - they have admitted that and by implication, you are an idiot if you expect it to rival or better a PROFESSIONAL camera. You are a fool if you think otherwise, this is implied by them, because they KNOW and admit that limitation.

Had you used uppercase and BOLD you would have shown everyone. Just UPPERCASE does not cut it.

Though kudos on abusing anyone who shares an opinion that you don't support.

Relax and allow people to voice their opinion who are into photography , and are discussing some average photos that don't do smartphones justice, forget DSLRs.... Feel free to tell us why you think these are great pics for a smartphone, or bad pics...or average.

I think they look pretty good overall, highlights being blown in some shots leave me thinking they are straight out of camera which is a good thing. I don't think the saturation looks goosed either, full sunlight in clear air has a tendency to pile up color if the exposure is right as they are here.

I can't wait to get mine, check out both lenses, DNG, etc...

And the best camera ever? Is the one you have with you. So kudos to apple and every other smartphone manufacturer for trying to create the best camera experience they can in a smartphone form factor.

Sure, I know how to read. I believe the comment I made was 'General Public'. IMHO, even the camera in the hands of a 'pro' is still subject to interpretation. I don't believe you really read my concerns. Have a nice day....

I got over 100k just in lenses and these pictures look like crap. One of my camera body alone is 30k by itself with no lens. I'll be highly embarrassed to show these pictures off.

Can you share some of your photos? I'm not trying to be a smartass. But, I just want to see photos taken with a 30K body and 100K worth of lenses. Seriously, I believe you. Just curious to see what those photos with that sort of gear look like.

I'm not disagreeing with you on the iPhone 7 camera. But, you can't compare a phone with dedicate expensive gear, right?

I'll try to be insightful without siding with anyone. While I agree that these specific photos aren't mind blowing, I'm happy to see the vast improvements in tiny senors and opticals.

My Canon 70-200 2.8 is a wonderful lens. Shots on that don't even compare. The problem is I personally never use it any more. Almost all my photos (no professional stuff) are taken on my iPhone.

I ordered the 7+ for this specific reason and am happy to see such improvements. Much better than that dual camera 3D gimmick phase

You're right, and I am pretty certain that the majority of these people were dragged up with no sense of moral framework or boundaries (they're gonna deny that, clearly!)

Civil, yes, but a random spattering of strangers that just so happen to have the same curiosities as me ARE NOT going to become "my friends" any more than I'd expect all the people in the supermarket to be "my friends", just because they also happen to be in the same place.

A bigger sensor wouldn't hurt either. In fact, I'd take a bigger sensor/lens assembly over a thousand tiny lenses/sensors any day of the week.



There are no originals. They are all downsized/downsampled and are nowhere near 12MP default that the iPhone 7 lens shoots. There's no way to tell what's, if anything, been done to them. And, as many already mentioned, handpicked full sunlight photos taken by a 'pro' are the least impressive way to showcase a camera's supposed prowess.

Next you'll say women at nightclubs look different in daylight!

Ok for a phone. They should really have a word with all these social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat about compressing photos. You can have a great photo ending up looking like crap once it's downsampled on the web.

That's true, although Flickr do not compress photos. But who uses Flickr? I still can't believe Instagram only allow 1080 pixels on the longest side! As a photo sharing website, they should be allowing full res uploads! I was kinda hoping the guy from Instagram would announce high res uploads when he came on stage during the keynote!
