I'm getting tired of these announcements for sorting "new" when it's just an iteration or slight upgrade to something. I know that the hype keeps their brand name in the media but still… it sort of looks pathetic, like an insecure person trying to constantly get attention.

Don't think new entry iPhone model is worth a CEO hype tweet. It is probably a new category but not a big enough category so my guess it will be smart home hub but usually we get leaks from supply chain so maybe they want to front run it and the actual release will be 6 month to 1 year from now.

Feels like a new product, he wouldn't do this for an airtag or an SE.

Feels like he's dropping an Apple memecoin if you really look at it.

Elon wouldn't repost it if it was an airtag or an se.

New home device? Maybe. A new product would probably need an event.

Let's see.

Was thinking of getting an 11" iPad Air (M2)

If the rumored M3 is announced next week, do you think the then older M2 will drop below $499 (the current lowest price on Amazon)?

are people that buy the SE even big Apple fanboys? Doubt they even pay attention to this sort of thing. Quit teasing me Tim and drop that homebot damnit.
I wanted to say: yes, I'm one of them. But when I think about it, I would say I'm not a fanboy anymore. I buy only the products I feel it's a good value for the money. A few years ago I realized that every dollar you pay for the premium device is getting less and less valuable. Some upgrades are necessary (more storage), but other than that, I can use MBA for photography / software development all day long and it's perfect.

To be honest, the renders looks really cool. Probably the cleanest looking iPhone since the original SE (iPhone 5). Hope we will see a "small camera bump" trend in the future devices. I will probably get one (over the base 16), because it look like a really good value this year..

A new kind of AirTag, a HomePod or something Starlink related.

Possibly even an input device (new mouse?)

Graphics like this aren't just thoughtlessly thrown together. They're created very deliberately. This one isn't remotely indicative of an iPhone or MacBook.

"New member of the family" also doesn't lend itself to an iPhone SE4, renamed or otherwise.

I've been trying to figure out when my "fandom switch flipped" ... I think it happened with the 2016 MBP release, that to me was a dud from moment one.

I remember my first night of the 2016 MBP we had in house ... playing with the TouchBar and thinking "why?" ... and hating the ULTRA low travel and lack of key/typing feel .... and by the end of the night, with the new device euphoria having already worn off ... realizing that I preferred basically everything about my 2015 MBP

If it is for the SE, am I correct in thinking this is the first time Apple have announced an SE like this? In the past, hasn’t it just dropped on their site and via a press release?
