Honest question...I have a base model 2021 MBP 14" M1p...would the new Air M4 likely be more powerful, or would the M1p I have still be a bigger powerhouse?

Yeah, but did you get a good price on it? That's all that matters.

Paid $900 for 16GB/512 which I didn't wasn't bad - it had only 11 cycles on it and it was mint with a case. Figured that if M4 comes out with compelling features I'd be able to get out of it for not much more than I paid.

Benchmarks and battery life aren't that important given that this is basically a secondary machine that lives 90% in my kitchen and den. Still - we will have to see!

I see in the middle part the Air (the streak) a tinge of light blue. Sometime back a Chinese website had mentioned a potentially new blue color (I can't find that site again not sure if they took it down). I am hopeful for a light blue or different color for the MBA.

Lol why did the article have to end with mentioning the iPhone Air and the 16expensive? Just imagine getting another disappointing iPhone added to the lineup instead of a nice upgrade of the MacBook Air or iPad Air…😅😂

16e is expensive because it doesn't use old architecture anymore.
Back glass, larger phone, OLED display, face ID, Wireless charging.

Getting a closer look at the teaser video and pausing the mysterious object midway through, it looks like it has tiny microphone holes that are consistent with an iPad, not a MacBook Air. Then again, the 'Air' announcement may be multiple devices so perhaps an iPad was just used for this teaser (if a new MacBook Air is indeed being announced).
