Is it me or does the slice in the word "AIR" seem to resemble the shape of the old MacBook Air? It would be awesome if they introduced an 12" MacBook Air SE with a wedge shaped design as a callback to the MacBook 12" (2017). That was still the lightest, most portable laptop Apple ever produced. I know they won't do it this year, but we can dream...

I'd love that. I like the edge shape soooo much more than the squared-off boxy Airs that we have now.

Would this effectively make a discounted M2 Air the most value driven iPad yet? I presume they will drop to $399 considering recent sales were at $499.

I love the wedge design aesthetically and ergonomically, however the box shape is definitely more efficient, more space for larger battery, better cooling, ports, or whatever (MagSafe?!?) in the same footprint. If it means I get a couple hours more battery life then I'd take the tradeoff. I have an M1 Air and the battery gets less than half the life it did when it was new, and that's not even with extremely heavy use. So you might get a new one and think wow, this is great, 12 hours of battery life, I'll never need more! But you will because that battery will degrade over time. Also, a larger battery could let you limit top charge to 80% or whatever, extending the life of the battery while still offering full-day run time.

Yeah it would make more sense that that design would have the shape to "slice" through something. I was thinking the only reason for such an animation would be either thinner or sharper design, but nobody seems to be expecting that this year. Maybe we'll be surprised for once in a long time.

I don’t think they will bring back the 12” MacBook.

If anyone is getting "hyped" -- go back and look at a few weeks ago when rampant speculation was leading to talk of "is it the home robot thing!?"

Nah .. it was just a major price hike to the entry point for iPhones and the release of a new parts bin model

All flash, very little substance

I will only upgrade my 13” M2 MBA if the M4 comes with an OLED display.

It strangely does look like the trailing edge of the object that flies through has the old MacBook Air taper…
With that said, there’s no way we’re getting a redesigned body with 0 leaks….right?

Just get it over with and announce it. No need to drag it out.

Oh... marketing. 🙄
Yep. Look at the forum posts and internet chat, YouTubes, Tiktoks, Reels and Tweets that will happen until they announce. Then will be the actual drop, followed by the embargo release date, then the actual shipping date. They sure do know how to milk the community over what is just a simple spec. bump.

If it had USB C on both sides, I'd upgrade from a 13" M3 MacBookAir to 15" for sure! 🤞
