If Trump hadn't entered the Republican primary we would have had another Bush representing the Republicans. If nothing else he'll be remembered for effectively ending the Bush dynasty.

And don't think HC isn't just a little worried about the email investigation. The Justice Department has granted immunity to the person who installed the servers in her home. That order can only come from a Federal judge to elicit testimony for evidence to present to a sitting Grand Jury.

I don't agree with Trump and his policies, but I find it interesting the lengths to which important people are going in order to stop him from being president.

He may not be fit to be president, but at the end of the day it's a democracy and people are supporting him.

Quite true what you are saying about democracy and all that, but there is one thing I have learned, people are usually very blind when it comes to politics. They always seem to get fooled by politics.

Democracy doesn't always work. Adolf Hitler is great example of that. Therefore, people with influence want to avoid the same mistake the Germans made.

Trump 2016.. Tim Cook is more worried about protecting terrorist "privacy" than listening to the people . We want trump. Screw the special interests and the lobbyist

Hitler was democratically elected by a landslide.
There it is. The Hitler card.

Sometimes the people have no idea what's good for them.

Agreed. Just look at Canada, UK, Sweden, France and Germany.

I don't think he's an R or a D. I don't think most of them are. They are all $. The R and D thing is just to keep the little people fighting over meaningless stuff.

He's running as an R because he knows how to manipulate the base. He'd get nowhere running as a D, the anointed Hillary aside. I don't think the D base goes for his personality and shtick the way the Rs do.

OMG I love you. Someone who sees THE TRUTH!

That's what I mean by him being status-quo, even though he doesn't represent "the establishment".

He is status quo because he represents selfishness and money. Most R & D are. Sanders is the only one that isn't status quo. He wants to take on and break Wall Street, corporate America and the power the few hold over the majority which is exactly what democracy is designed to avoid.

I don't know how or why most people can't see it, but to the good people of Vermont you are awesome!

Americans elected George W. Bush, TWICE. Trump isn't the president Americans need, he's a president they deserve.
Megalomaniacal Trump or Crook Hillary......
What a choice!
[doublepost=1457418841][/doublepost]Here's something I ran across......

Which of the following names are you familiar with?

1. Monica Lewinsky

2. Bill Clinton

3. Hilary Clinton

4. Adolph Hitler

5. Jorge Bergoglio

6. Winnie Mandela

7. Vladimir Putin

8. Linda Lovelace

9. Saddam Hussein

10. Tiger Woods

You had trouble with #5?

You know all the criminals, murderers, thieves, sluts and cheaters, but you don't know the Pope?? Lovely, just lovely!

Trying to figure what I would classify Trump as. :D

This seems very undemocratic. How to stop someone that "shouldn't" be president...?

The guy filed all of the proper paperwork right? Isn't this the whole thing that's so great about America? That any one, regardless of others' opinions, should be allowed to pursue their own goals?

That's just an argument for how irrelevant the Catholic Church is becoming. At least in our bubble.
There are still billions of sheep, I know.

I have some comments about this meeting:

1. The establishment doesn't seem to respect the people's vote. This idea of "stopping Trump" goes against the idea of democracy. If the GOP or whatever shows a majority of voters going for Trump, then let it happen! Nobody seems to care about that part of democracy. Instead they appear to be trying to use scare tactics to subvert the power of the voting process here.

1.1 I would just add that this idea of not respecting democracy isn't the first example by a long shot. Check out global politics and see who obeys the UN and who breaks the orders of the UN. "Democracy" is just a word on the global scene for the USA - it really has no meaning if a "regime change" is deemed to be "needed". It's messed up - badly.

2. Trump might change his mind about this privacy issue if he can be shown the facts. Just tell him "if encryption is outlawed, only outlaws will have encryption". - It has to sink in. Trump is wrong about a few issues, but he might be open to common sense.

3. Apple needs to take a look at themselves. If they are the biggest company on the planet, they can do anything they want or anything Tim Cook orders. They should have courage. iPhones made in USA? It can be done! Tariffs can force it to become a logical choice. Samsung devices would have the same tariffs against them. Trump might have threatened such things on Apple, but it's just a starting point for negotiations. Trump is probably right too. We pay way too little for some things because of the global economy. Cheap imports from China are nice, but maybe we can choose to build up the middle class here by making it possible for companies to make a profit by manufacturing in the USA? Money is the main thing that will influence Apple, so with the $19 Trillion debt we have here, something is going to have to change. Trump can fix things I believe. Let Apple repatriate it's $200 Billion tax free on the condition that they start to produce the iPhone 8 in the USA, and hit all imported smartphones with a heavy tax or tariff. Pretty simple really.

4. Smear campaigns seem to be the basis of American politics these days, but look at the whole field of wing nuts on the Republican side and then check out the bought and paid for Hillary Clinton. We all had so much hope for Obama, but soon after he received the Nobel Peace Prize (lol) it seemed like he lost all power. America is so completely oblivious to reality on the international scene, it's almost impossible to point that out to any American citizen, Democrat, or Republican. It would take an hour to de-brainwash most citizens just to get them close to understanding the mess created by the USA in global politics. Apple should steer clear of politics completely. Trump might bring something really good for America, it would be really terribly wrong to try to influence democracy. Normally I guess the lobbyists would already have a politician like Trump wrapped up (through funding and financial contributions or whatever other methods are used), but Trump is very interesting because he has not be bought and paid for! Maybe so is Bernie Sanders which is interesting.

Those are my comments, hope it adds to the discussion

Many people inside and outside the USA completely agree with you, unfortunately for totally different reasons.

Trump doesn't respect people's wish to have Mrs. Clinton as president. So what? They want to convince people not to vote for this dangerous man, that's totally democratic.

Sure, what world needs is another neo-nazi leader. US must do "better" than Russia so let's up the game and find even crazier person than Putin aka Trump. Adolf Hitler would approve.

You mean the racist Donald Trump who voted for Obama in '08 and also said he feels much more comfortable in the Democratic Party? The only reason he is running as an R is he knows he couldn't beat Hillary in a D primary and if he loses to her in a general he is no worse for the wear & will just resume throwing cash at D leadership.

Trump is a D and in the historic tradition of that party.
Trump is a populist RINO. I think people tend to go back to their roots once they become president. Trump is not a traditional Republican. He just wears the label. He is showing everyone the Republican base doesn't actually buy the economic voodoo nonsense about low taxes on the richest Americans will make money trickle down on the poor. Rich people don't just give money away if there is no business reason to do so. That terrifies the establishment Republicans who are grifters.

I actually think Republicans are smart for supporting Donald Trump. The only difference between Trump and Bernie Sanders is the tone in which they speak to minorities(racial and sexual orientation) and women. I don't think many Republicans in the south really care that much about any of the traditional republican issues other than abortion and gay marriage even the legitimately racist ones. I think Trump is doing the right thing by question trade deals that don't benefit American citizens as a whole.

I'm an Apple fan and all but I feel like tech companies particularly those in Silicone Valley take take take and don't give enough back to the community in return for what they are taking. San Francisco and Silicone Valley is like going to a third world country compared to the East Coast. You have like 5 people to a house and the 24/7 efficient, reliable and robust government transportation preferably like a a real train system connecting the various areas in the valley and around the bay area is non existent.

Homeless people are literally peeing, crapping and sleeping on the streets and not in the comfort of a home. They have no hope for getting educated or medical treatment if they have any physical or mental conditions. You have trillions of dollars in that area of the country and the community in which they helped create they refuse to give back to adequately.
[doublepost=1457421912][/doublepost]
This is patently false.

The US spends more money per child than most any other country in the world, and we're losing in the final analysis! To say what you said shows that you're either ignorant of the education problems, or you've just given up and taken to drinking somebody's liberal kool-aid. Have you seen what passes for education in our government schools?

Aaah, but what do you expect when you put the government in charge of anything? That is why nearly everybody in my family is sending their kids to parochial schools or charter schools.

Your kid might be on the honor roll like that bumper sticker says, but our kids are turning out brilliant because the government is not in our way. And no participation awards are necessary!
Education costs more in the US because schools are more interested in making a profit and building up endowments than educating the people. That's why costs are going up faster than inflation. The professors in many cases can't even afford to feed their families on what they make. So lets not. If it costs more it costs more. There is no reason why we can export terror and violence to other countries when we refuse to continuously educate people and provide health care for people.

Just imagine for a moment Donald Drumpf having the power to unlock every iPhone users' phones after becoming Commander in Chief and Chief Executive of the FBI... ::shutter::
[doublepost=1457405430][/doublepost]
Also, wrong. Bush's first term was given by the SCOTUS.

You're kidding right? I would never be worried about such a thing from Trump because I doubt he gives a crap what's on your phone. Now Hilary on the other hand....

I don't think this was what the founders of this country had in mine when they wrote the U.S. Constitution! The article makes it Sound like the group wants to override "the people" for their own agenda!

Sound like something that commonly happens in African countries.

If there's all this extra money laying around, as Sanders claims why raise taxes? Re-appropriate it.

Personally I say do away with Income tax. Flat 10% (or whatever) on everything you buy. Rich buy their rich person stuff that costs lots and they pay lots. Middle buy their average stuff and pay an average rate. Poor buy cheaper stuff and pay less. Should brung in more $$ too as money has to be spent to live....
Wow, that's a great idea, let's rape the consumer class with the most regressive tax there is, and discourage consumption at the same time.

Then when nobody's buying anything, and the economy collapses, we can bail out the banks again.

You wouldn't be angling for a gig as Trump's VP would you?

If you hate poor people and love rich people, have a flat tax. Any flat tax seems fair on its face but when you account for the fact that non-rich people need every dime to live and rich people have tons of spare money they can easily live without you realize it's not fair. Besides, rich people would figure out how to buy all their fun stuff outside your sales tax laws. They could keep all their toys at their second home in another country.
