:mad:After logging in it says it only provides content to Time Warner Video Subscribers. I spend almost $150 a month with TW between Cable and Internet.

Figuring this was a bug, I just spent the last 45 minutes trying to explain this problem with TW tech support.

Was just informed by tech support this only works on ios 4.2.1 not 4.3.

oh well.

Huh? Have you got that reversed? I'm watching it on my OS-4.3 iPad2 right now. Only glitch I've found is that I had the auto rotate lock function on and got no sound. Turned it back to mute function on the switch and the sound came back, strange.. But it is working fully from what I see right now. It's great for watching TV in bed or the bathroom.

Nice, but who watches live TV for anything other than sports anymore? I don't want streaming from live TV. I want streaming from my TiVo/DVR. Everything I want to watch is by definition on my DVR.

My TiVo HD is on my home intranet, and a Time Warner DVR is obviously direct-wired to the router. So how hard would it be to stream from a DVR instead?

That said, I downloaded the app and indeed it works ... I get quite a few channels. The only slightly annoying thing is that it says "Now:" before every show, which makes it hard to scan the available shows.

I have 4.3 and it's working. The channel issue (just getting one channel) is being resolved with TWC as I type. Issue is in Ohio and another state, according to the tier three rep I'm working with.

Update: some in Ohio are getting the channels, still a problem for some including me

Yep or any room that you don't have cable in. Watching on iPad with 4.3 while waiting on iPad2 due on Thursday :)

as an example of marketing theatrics, it is weirdly amateur. What a strange way to promote a new product: Put a bunch of dull corporate dudes in the ceo's office, and have them diddle on an ipad?

This is either brilliant or wildly lame. I can't decide.

+1!

Somewhat working now

seems to be working now on 4.3, only 3 channels though.

Glas to see Time Warner is getting Xfinity TOO! : )

A blatant catch up move to Comcast's already spectacular Xfinity app.

Is anyone else having problems with this app? It worked fine this morning but now I get a message that says I can only use it with WiFi connected via an authorized TWC cable modem. I and doing both of these. I called support and they were no help at all.

Great option to have

Since you are already paying for it anyway.

Why do I want it when we also have a friggin 48" flat screen on the wall? Besides saving a ton of energy when only one person is watching the show, the iPad experience, I find, is a lot more immersive. I love watching my movies via AirVideo on it lying on the couch or bed — with the iPad held only 15-20 inches away fills more of your field of vision than even a 80" TV can. So what you get is actually a much bigger TV experience with 1:100 of the energy costs. Whats not to love???:D

BTW: Where are you Verizon Fios? This is what your app should be doing.
Your iPad app sucks. It is a very laggy remote control and thats about it. The screen images it shows in the channel listing are always half hour behind.

Xfinity is a cable-box control system, and allows viewing of some on-demand video. No live tv capability like the Time Warner system.

The UI on the 922 is sweet. 1080P (best way to describe it), and the remote is much better too. Allows you to map a HT receiver volume control to it.

The 722 is also dual tuner, right? I guess you could use TV2 for the sling box (or use TV2 as the main TV), but I am not sure if they are HD. Plus - You need another $40 or so to get Dish to unlock the USB ports (crazy). I think the 922 is worth the extra $60, and to be honest, all TV content providers are the same...lots of faults. This just appealed to me, since I work away a lot. My kids love it too...they watch on their iPod Touches.

When I called Dish they said the adapter for my 722 was $99 and no additional fees to plug it into my 722 -- though they have a fee for hooking up additional storage for the DVR. The 722 will do 1080p also, but has the same remote as the 5xx series. I already have the 722, but they would want me to pay like $250 to get the 922 -- which is a bit excessive.

What I like about the Dish solution is that its any channel and anywhere. I usually get about 5Mbs upstream from my house, so I'm planning on buying this adapter soon for the 722. The reason the Sling Box doesn't work on TV2 for the Dish 722 is that the 722 won't take IR input for TV2 and therefore you cannot control it via the IR Blaster. Unless that's what my research led me to believe. I always wanted the SlingBox solution, but that it was pricey. When Dish started offering the Sling Adapter I thought this was perfect for the price.

That said, if they would give me a 922 for a decent upgrade fee I would take it, but then I'd have to figure out a way to get signal to the second TV in the house because I think the 922 lacks the TV2 coaxial output and simply relies on streaming for supporting additional TV's (and Sling stopped selling the Sling Catcher).

I live in Ohio and all the channels work fine.. I just seen the extremely generic Motorola Xoom commercial on my iPad.

I have the TW road runner internet, but not the tv. I can't just get my aunt's username and password ? She has both TWC tv and internet.
Hmm, how does she obtain the username and password?

It requires the account number also. I'm assuming the account number matches with the account number the internet connection is under.

This app sucks only works half of the time. Im using Apple Airport with wireless N and this thing only works half the time.

Buggy as hell. No functionality when it does work seriously this app i cool but pointless at the same time. Give me the ability to watch DVR recordings and maybe you having something,

Whole app seems really rushed.
