I also did chat with a AT&T Rep yesterday morning and I asked them what what they thought of the AT&T Next program, and they were like the AT&T Next program will coast you more money in the long run.

This what they told me:
"
Me: Ok, Just one more thing do you the AT&T Next worth doing?

AT&T : I can see here you still have the individual talk plan. I recommend it is cheaper if you will do the standard upgrade instead of AT&T Next. Since if you do the AT&T Next, you will have to pay the full retail price of the phone in equal installments for 20, 24, or 30 months.

Me : That is what I have thought

Me : I normally get my phone though Apple, but I know they took the 2 years contract option off, So looks like I'm going to my phone upgrades though AT&T

Me : Thanks

AT&T : Yes, bige12. In the long run, the AT&T Next will cost you more. If your phone is still perfectly working fine then I suggest we can wait for the standard upgrade.

This post should be made a sticky. It is almost always gospel for an individual user consuming less than 10GB or on a legacy UDP.

Regarding the 2 year subsidized agreement, my understanding is that the activation fee has been raised to $45.

I talked to an AT&T rep and he said otherwise my monthly bill should remain the same, yet I've read here that some part of it has been raised $25 a month.

Has the 2 year subsidized agreement gone up in price or is it still the same?

If you don't change your plan, the price won't change.

I don't think you can just raise your bill $25, but everything is so confusing. The activation fee is pretty much bull**** but I've been able to get it waived before so we'll see.

Hey. When clicking upgrade your phone. Will the the new iPhone show in the list of all of the iPhone's? Or do you have to go through a different link. When I transfer my upgrade I want to make sure I can then hit a preorder link.

Just checking the ATT website to look at my info and its already jacked up. Both via iOS app and via the web. Wow!

Website says error retrieving request and iOS app just sits and spins.

Things to come? Let's hope not but history has told me that att still hasn't handled these issues.

Well, I think things are getting ready. I just tried the Check You Eligibility link on the iPhone 6s page and a different "You are eligible for an upgrade" link on my billing page and they both returned "There was a problem with your request.
We're sorry but we are unable to process your request online. (P1300)" Hopefully they get that worked out.

So I just got off chat with an ATT rep and was told that I could only preorder the iPhone 6s through NEXT even though I have an upgrade on my account.

I did a chat earlier today. I'm grandfathered into a UDP. The rep told me nothing would change, billing-wise, if I preordered on a 2-yr contract. He did say that because my plan isn't available to new customers, it also won't be available to select during preorder. He said to pick anything and to call customer service when I receive the phone, but before activating it, and tell them I want to retain my current plan. I'm a little nervous about that, but I saved the transcript with his name on it should they give me a problem later.

So, if tonight's preorders are only available on Next, then I'm not sure how I'm going to do it. I won't be able to preorder at subsidized price and I can't imagine I can switch from Next back to my current plan later like the CS rep said I could. There is so much contradictory info out there coming from the same source (AT&T).

got this weird feeling im going to stay up until 3am to preorder on att. then there wont be an option to purchase using a subsidized 2 year contract option lol

I normally go in store because ATT doesn't recognize my address for shipping. I asked 4 different chat people if I could preorder tonight and select in store pick up for the 25th and they all said yes,

Does that sound right before I wait up until 3 am?

If this is the case then why don't we just preorder through Apple's website?

If Att makes my lazy aS$ wake up at 3am. I will use J.L. bad words towards them.
That's not AT&T's fault, it's Apple's decision to start pre-orders at 3am (12am PST). You can't fault AT&T for the pre-order time.

On the other hand, we certainly CAN fault AT&T if they don't allow us to pre-order a subsidized phone.

And I won't forget that, especially since I have to wake up to try this at 3am.

I'm in a similar situation. I want to order via Next + Down Payment but it's only available via AT&T. One rep told me they made a note on my account to allow it after I receive the phone. I also saved the chat transcript. I'm hoping that's enough for AT&T to honor it.

Okay, SO if i am on AT&T NO Contract Plan Data Share Plan (Want to Keep It), Want an "Unlocked" Phone tonight, Which one do i Get? T mobile or AT&T paid in full So it does not affect my plan.....

Just got off chat with AT&T, I explained that on a forum someone had talked to a rep and they said 2yr upgrades would not be an option for preorder. She stated that that was the case with Apple, but not with AT&T and AT&T would in fact be taking preorders for the 6S on 2 year contract. Take what you want from it, saved the transcript as we'll.
