got a note from apple this am. my 44 black tit delivery date has been postponed until late November [a 2 month delay]. I cancelled my order.

Here in UAE the SBTi delivery date has suddenly jumped from a few days to November. Regular Ti is still next day delivery.

Based on what evidence does Space black titanium have scratches issues?
No evidence, its just a simple guess from hearing people saying they scratch and the demos are scratched etc. Even though the one i tested didn't, but its a plain assumption.

OK, I’m VERY happy with the Ti AW5. Wow.

Just got back from the Apple Store. Amazing how much different it looks and feels vs SGAL.

The only evidence of the black scratching is from an SBSS watch rubbing against it, I believe, in that one review.

DLC will scratch DLC so that’s expected. The official Milanese loop scratches the hell out of the SBSS watch, but outside of that mine was perfect for years.

I wouldn’t mix the official SB Milanese with the SB Ti.

Personal report - I’ve had the the standard Ti for about 3/4 days now. It looks amazing. I was sold when I opened it and the more time I spend with it and how it reacts with different light sources the more I like it.

I was a big fan of the SS and the SS is still the best all around for maximum compatibility with different bands, but this more subtle finish is more me. I can only hope we get some Ti bands/adapters sometime in the future.

I have no issues to report with scratches or otherwise, but I am careful normally although that doesn’t mean I haven’t accidentally ever hit part of my older watches against a door knob or something of the sort. I do have a worry in the back of mind regarding this finish, but so far with normal use it’s pristine.

Yup I’m the same way. Have upgraded to every single iPhone and watch since they came out. Call it my Apple budget lol. iPad last me a good 3-4 years. Doesn’t interest me as much.

To clarify, the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon coating) on the Milanese loop Will scratch the sapphire display, because they share similar properties.

I think I’m going to just go for a 40mm SBSS, my SBTi delivery date is end of October, I can’t see my link bracelet looking better than it does on the SSSB and the SBSS with AC+ is £250 cheaper.
Also the earlier post about the SS being a harder metal than Ti would sway me.

Not really been following this thread as I'm a die hard SB SS owner but in regards to scratching on the SBTi, I've bashed my various SB SS many times and sometimes I look, so a scratch/mark and my heart sinks.......

Until I give the scratch a good hard rub to find the mark comes off and is just remnants of what the watch came in contact with.

I'm sure 95% of scratches on the SBTi are the same and just need a good rub with a moist micro-fibre cloth.

I would like to get a Ti Silver one, but the backordered for a long time. Guess Apple underestimated the demand for that and the leather bands too.

I went to the store today to return my Noir Hermes Model as I just didn't like having the black coating and was going to order a SS Hermes, which is what I've worn for the past few years. When I saw the Titanium under the glass I thought it looked amazing. I asked if they had any in stock and they had one and I scooped it up and love it.

To me the Titanium looks much more premium than the stainless steel. The only thing I'm going to be missing is the Hermes watch face, but I can live without that. I wore the Hermes bands but I mostly ended up wearing the Apple Link bracelet which looks surprisingly great with the Ti watch.

I have the Ti silver. I can confirm, It did scratch easier than the aluminum I was trying out and was more obvious than the SS I used to have. It kind of lightly ran into my dresser with it on, and it made mark in the finish and left some very light scratches that I couldn’t feel with my finger nail.

However, I was able to polish them out with no problems, good as new. I used some tripoli on a cloth and gave it a few brief rubs in the direction of the brushed finish. Then hit it with some rouge on a polishing wheel with a Dremel. Just very lightly very briefly, then buffed it a bit with a polishing cloth. Can’t even see it under a magnifier now. I was about to return it because I tend to be hard on my watches. I only wanted the Ti for the sapphire glass because I have fairly scratched up the ion in the past and cant seem to keep a screen protector on the face. But, seeing I was able to polish it out, I’m going to stick with it.
