So I just got the Ti watch and noticed mine didn’t have the screen protector out of the box like I saw on some unboxings.... for everyone who has it did you guys have a plastic on the screen when you first opened it?

i also noticed some micro scratches on the bottom of the watch near the strap lugs area.....Not sure how I feel about that

Did you order yours or get it at a store?

i picked it up in store

Damn man, same thing with mine... I got mine in store because there was such a long wait and ordered my wife's SS model which came today. Once hers arrived I realized mine differed from hers in that it had 1) already been opened i.e. no outer plastic wrap plus the opening tabs had clearly been creased like they were bent back at least once, 2) did not come with the screen protector on mine, 3) had many smudges all over the watch body.

Return it. Not acceptable that there’s scratches on a $800 smart watch. Period. I know Apple would not appreciate that type of manufacturing tendency to be given to a customer for that price point.

Haha same!! Mine didn’t have the plastic around the box either but the tabs I think is because they actually manually pack the strap that you choose with the package So that’s understandable. But having smudges all over the watch? That’s not okay... what are you gonna do?

I think I might have to do that.... paying this much for a smart watch I kinda feel it should be perfect out of the box too.

Well its been bothering me since I saw hers knowing that it was opened and seemingly handled so after hearing your issue as well coupled with that, I will most likely return and just wait for a replacement to ship. I love the watch and got to wear it the last couple of days so I know that I am 100% on keeping it but for this amount of money Im just not ok with it being other than brand new. Sorry to hear about your issue as well.

I got both the Hermes and the ti from online, both didn’t come with screen protector stickers on them, as I had seen in YouTube vid. But they were brand new untouched direct ship from China. So I don’t get it?

Found a bunch of light scratches on the edge of my natural Ti watch where the strap clicks in. Been using the sport loop and noticed the plastic buckle touches there. It’s actually scratching the watch. I tried switching side and it appeared over there. That’s not good.

Did you try wiping these marks off? Thanks for the info/pics!

No screen protector on my natural titanium. Bought direct from Apple and the box was sealed. Came shipped from China.

No scratches, but only been wearing it a couple of days.

Did anyone else order their Titanium Apple Watch on apple.com within the last week or so because I did and mine shipped from China but due to bad weather it is stuck there, Is anyone else's order delayed?

I’m going to go in-store and try the 40 and 44 sizes.
I’ve always bought the smaller size but I would love the leather loop band and bigger screen so I’m going to see how it looks.

Don't fret with those scratches, Amazon sell titanium refinishing pads.

I used one to remove a few marks on a titanium Citizen watch I was gifting to my dad. Works great, just need to go with the grain of the brushing.

When the Space Black Titanium pops up in a local store... it would be rude not to complete the duo, wouldn't it?

The SB link band actually goes well with the SBTi. The gloss sides match the crystal/screen and the brushed matches the brushed casing of the watch.

Got my natural Ti in store and it was sealed. It was in the microfiber pouch but no screen protector. The watch was flawless (and still is after 5 days with the Leather Loop, Sport Loop, and Sport Band).

Thanks - I'm pretty much set on bringing it back for an exchange. Can't really live with those microscratches right out of the box for a smart watch at this price point.

Question for those of you who are buying/picking these units up in store... are the edition watches only available at the large flagship stores? I live in a tax free state, and unfortunately we don't have a "flagship" apple store, but the closest one in the neighboring state does and that's the only store that I can find it in stock.

Also has anyone been able to purchase the edition watch through the EPP store?

Yeah man mine is stuck in limbo due to weather as well :/

So far where I live it seems to only be available at one store specifically.. not sure it's considered a flagship but I think they carry the Hermes models there too.

Also no discount through EPP on the Edition unfortunately.... they do have discounts on other Series 5 models though it seems

Bad weather or maybe because China's on National holiday right now for a few days

Only “flagships” seem to be getting them near me (Los Angeles area): Grove, Third Street, South Coast Plaza.

Re packaging anomalies...

Both Titanium watches I have I collected in-store, and the outer boxes were open, however the inner boxes (i.e. the box that contains the actual watch, and the box that contains the separate strap) were sealed.

The first watch I changed the bundled band online, and it was explained to me that the box is opened behind the scenes in store to swap the band over.

The second, however, I left the bundled band as the default listed on the Apple website (i.e. Space Black with Anchor Grey Sport Loop). But it still came unsealed in the store.

What do they come with by default then!?

Yes, this. The outer box that goes around the strap and watch is put together by the assistant once you specify the band you want. It's a clever solution.
I don't recall whether my SS came with a screen protector - it did come in a natty little microfibre pouch though.

I have stainless steel, but am considering getting the titanium in consideration of (a) extra band included offsets the price to "only" $50 and (b) the warranty is worth an extra year. Does anyone have any thoughts on those considerations? I suppose AppleCare+ is unfortunately more expensive...
