The sheaths are bullet proof
Mine too. That's my favorite quality of the Sheath. Mine have looked almost new even after a year. It does get smudgy sometimes, but a quick wipe and it looks new again. Very resilient little case.

For whatever it's worth, last year I did use the Synthesis more than I ever have. Great case as well, but I did notice that the back got scratched up more easily than the Sheath. It wasn't bad by any means, but just an observation. I tend to be careful with my electronics so I don't think it'd be a problem unless you're rough with your phones.

i have had Sheaths as my go to case since my iPhone XS and as you suggest, they age well. my 3 year old Sheath for the 13pro still looks close to new after a simple wipe down.

i tried the Synthesis with my iPhone 11 pro, and that version scratched within hours of having it, and i felt it was grippy enough like the Sheath. it sounds like they improved on the grip in recent generations but not the scratch resistance.

Anyone else experienced the scuffing and scratching on the back of their Synthesis case as described in the MobileReview Eh video (post 199)? I saw other posts saying it wasn’t an issue, and I’m usually careful with my iPhone, but I’d opt for the Sheath if there was any chance of my Synthesis looking scuffed after a few months.
My last year version looks brand new still. I expect the same with the new one this year as well.

The sheaths are bullet proof

You’re not kidding. I had the Sheath for my old 14 Pro Max for over a year, so much texture that I used to intentionally scratch the back of it frequently to tame my anxiety. Still til this day, not one visible scratch, dropped it couple times too. Still looks brand new.

The sheaths are bullet proof
Truth. I used a Sheath for 3 years on my 13 Pro and it still looks almost like brand new. And I don't baby my phone, it gets banged around plenty. All I ever did was take the case off and give it a quick scrub once every few weeks to get the dirt/dust, oils and whatever else off of it.

I just ordered a Sheath for my 16 Pro. I'm currently using the Speck Presidio 2 Grip, but I don't like this version as well as the older version I had on my XS several years ago. The back feels too hard/plasticky and slippery, the Sheath is better in that regard.

I really liked the Sheath on my 13 Pro, and it's also not quite as bulky as the Speck. The Speck is more protective so I'll keep it around for days when the phone might need the extra protection, but I think the Sheath will be my daily driver. It kept my 13 Pro safe for 3 years through multiple drops and a lot of bouncing/banging around, so it's no slouch when it comes to protection.

Discount code CHECKOUT still works for 15% off, btw. Thanks to whoever posted that earlier in the thread!

Can anyone who has celestial blue take a pic of it in sunlight or in a well lit area? I noticed a lot of colors tend to look different in well lit conditions.

I finally pulled the trigger on Monday and ordered my Sheath. the Smartish Monkgrip just wasn't cutting it with its bulkiness even though great for its price. I'm currently using a Silicon case to hold me over.

but frustrated that even though they gave me a tracking number 2 days ago, it still hasn't truly been put into the USPS system.

I ordered my Sheath yesterday afternoon. Received the "shipped" email with a tracking number this morning, tracking number was in the USPS system by this afternoon and is scheduled for delivery next Tuesday.

I actually use the Gripmunk specifically because it’s a bit thicker than the Sheath. I think the Synthesis and Gripmunk strike a good medium for how protective I’d like my case to be, it’s too bad the Synthesis seems to scratch easily. I don’t think it’d hold up too well working construction.

So I finally received my Sheath yesterday (almost 2 weeks after ordering - to be expected with overseas delivery)

I have to say, while I still love the look, it appears a tad less elegant than my sheath in the 12 Pro…

It‘s about 1.2mm thicker than the 12 sheath, making the whole package more bulky (while the phones have a difference in thickness of about 0.8mm). I guess this is due to the added microfiber lining. Also it helps minimize the camera bump…

Also, the outside seems „rougher“ than the old version. Could be that the sheath on my 12 is already worn down a bit, but it‘s only a couple of weeks old (I just recently ordered it in August, thinking that I would keep the 12 for a couple more months, but in the end couldn‘t resist the temptation of getting the 16 on release).

So all in all, it‘s a less elegant experience, but still better than what I had on the 16 for the first week…

I like the way they did the camera control cutout. Looking at the phone from the front, there is no dent on the side, so it‘s a streamlined look and the button… ehm… „not-a-Button-Camera-Control“ is still usable.

What I don‘t really like: The volume buttons (and to an extent the action button) are not really „firmly in place“… They have a little give / are a little loose, to the point that they make a rattling sound when shaking the phone.

Anyone else have noticed that? The power button does not have that issue…

I have 3 Sheaths and they all are fine. There could be a little wiggle but majority of cases with these butt s are going to have a little give in it.

Wrote Caudabe support hoping to get some good news that PARAGON would be shipping at the end of September.

Received this reply within a day of my inquiry:

Thank you so much for the email! As noted on the product page when placing the order, Paragon is a pre-order item. We expect it to be in stock and ready to ship by early October.
