Wait, the addresses have to be same? I have my home address for my billing, but my office for shipping since I won't be home.

From what I understand the address have got to be the same for the order but after it is shipped you "might" be able to get FedEx to change the address if Apple will allow them to do so.

----------

the express checkout toggle has turned off for me twice today. not sure but I hope they check into that and get it fixed.

I remember it also happened to me a few times, kept changing till it stuck.

Change your credit card billing address to match your work shipping address a few days before the pre-order. I did it last year. Once shipped, change the address back.

looking back on my old post from when the iPhone 5 released, that's what happened. it was shipped to my billing address but was able to change it after I got the email confirmation. I'll update my billing a few days before, then switch it back. good call

Was it on one device?

My guess since you say this is that the Apple store website maybe sees each device as different.

I just now went on my iPhone and it was toggled off.

But on my Mac it was still toggled on.

So I went in three times to the same Apple.com website settings with all three devices and it had to be toggled on every time.

Is that maybe what gave you guys the illusion it was going on and off? Maybe you first set it on your Mac, then checked from iPhone on the go and it was off?

For right now all three are staying on.

When placing the order, the billing and shipping addresses have to match on the account.

Correct, the shipping address can be changed after placing on order and as you stated, I think there is a short window to do this.

see, this I can't remember. IIRC my iPhone 5 was shipped to my work address HOWEVER I believe I was able to update the shipping address during the process, AFTER the sale was complete. I believe there was a small window of when we were able to update the address. I think it was being automatically sent to my billing address and of course, I would be at work I needed to update it.

Yea, figured. I know everyone that used the app had no issues. I was trying to do mine on a pc...

i'll have both available. i'll try on my MacBook Pro first, if not then i'll try on the apple store app.

Okay, according to an Apple rep, the billing and shipping addresses have to match the billing and shipping saved with your *carrier.*

I can say that Apple would require your shipping and billing addresses to match the information on your AT&T account.

EDIT:

It's also worth noting that the Apple Store app currently does not allow you to upgrade using AT&T Next, so if you're wanting to use Next like me, you're stuck with the website unless someone knows of a way to do it I can't see.

I am not on Next now. I am going to go to it for the iPhone 6. The Apple website allows for me to order online for phones because i don't have to trade-in yet (Not on Next yet). I just set up Express Checkout.

One question: If pre-orders are available for iPhone 6, shouldn't I just have to pay the sales tax when I hit Express Checkout?

Anybody know the answer to this?

Yes... The billing address of your credit card does not matter.. it is the billing address of your carrier (ex: att)

Omg I have to worry about this now.

So in the tabs how far do u go to get it set up? Once the clock strikes zero you have like 4 browser windows refreshing the apple store site? Click on pre order link on all 4? Do you keep filling out the order (choosing color/size) every time? Or do you just have 4 tabs with finalized orders and clicking a try again button on all 4?

WILL IT HELP IF I CONNECT TO HARDLINE AND SHUT OFF WIFI?

Good grief, Bobby. Take a breath...or a diazepam.

Only if Arby's is also your billing address.

This is true. I live in Maryland, but I was visiting my girlfriend in Utah when the 5 was released. I simply called my credit union and changed my billing address to that of my girlfriend before preordering from Maryland so it would ship to Utah, then changed it back when I got back home. Easy peasy.

UPDATE: I just tried this again and apparently they have added Next to the app finally. Will definitely be (pre) ordering through the app. Only downside is I still can't figure out how to use Express Checkout in the app.

Shipping Question

I have a question.

I am a college student at UNC Chapel Hill, and I was wondering if it will be a problem if I try to ship to my dorm. I am still on my parents ATT plan and obviously they have a different shipping address than I do at school. I am going to try and preorder the 6 with my Apple account and credit card information. My billing address is still registered to my parents house, but I would like it shipped to my dorm.

Will it give me an error if I try to do this? Or should I just have it shipped to my house initially and then immediately change the shipping address to my dorm? Thanks for any and all responses.
