I have the same question, for the following reason:

I seem to recall when I ordered the 5 in 2012 that it was crucial that the shipping address for the iPhone match the billing address on the AT&T account. Or, put another way, they would only ship the iPhone to the address where you received your AT&T bill.

Since I wanted the phone shipped to my work, I change my shipping address with Apple and my billing address for AT&T to my work address. But I certainly don't recall changing the billing address on my credit card as well, and I received the phone just fine at work.

Does that sound accurate, or am I just not remembering that I also had to change the shipping address on my credit card? Because I'm pretty sure I didn't make that change.

M

I just remember that I had to change SOMETHING. I can't remember what it was, or even if Apple still holds that policy. But I don't think I had to change my cc info

i changed all 3 to my work address just to be safe. once i get the shipping confirmation, i'll change everything back to my home address.

for the 5, i believe i changed only apple.com shipping address and it still went to my home. not sure if it went off of the carrier info or credit card info?

I have a question.

Will they charge us and have the funds taken out of the account instantly on Fri?

Or is it a few days later when it ships or something?

I didn't think you could change your credit card address to something else. Won't that keep your CC company from letting you make the sale?

Last iPhone i preordered was the 4...holy hell what a mess that was!

Same here but the funny thing is that I waited until 5pm on the day they opened up pre-orders and I had absolutely no problems ordering one on the Apple site. If the rumors are correct Apple is building a lot more iPhones this time around (like 80-90M this quarter) in anticipation of big demand.

My billing address is a PO Box. If i change it to my home address won't the order decline cause the billing address doesn't match???

How do you turn on the express pay on the apple store app? I do not have that option in the app anywhere or under account settings..... Do you have to manually toggle it on? If so, how the hell do you do it??

do i really need to update my apple AND verizon address to match where I want the phone shipped? last year when i switched from sprint to verizon the only thing i remember needing to change was the billing address on my cc to match my work address where i wanted my phone shipped. i will be ordering my phone thru verizon online.

thanks

Someone mentioned in a other section that they have removed the option of express checkout when the app was updated.

As technology gets better, the process has gotten to be less and less of a pain. Didn't have many website issues this past iteration. The iPhone 5 was a huge pain to get.

The apple streaming issues the other day really don't shed a bright light on Apple's ability to handle traffic spikes, though....

i'm hoping there will be no issues.

Even if there are, you will get your phone, don't worry. I think during the iPhone 5 preorder, it took me 25 minutes to get through all the ordering screens because of how slow the load times were, but I eventually got there, and still got my phone 1st day :)

I ordered first thing when I woke up that morning which was 6:30am central, by then it was pushed back to 1-2 weeks delivery. however, I was lucky and it ended up shipping sooner and I got it the Tuesday after the Friday release. I was happy with that.

this time around, I will be waking up for the 2am central release and see if I can get in.

Which model?

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I see different model numbers for the iPhone 6. I am from India and we have 3G on 2100 and one of the models (A1522) does not support 2100. Do we get to choose a particular model or do we know which model apple will be shipping by default? I am preordering tomorrow and having my friend pick it up for me from our NY office. Thank you!

Does anyone know what happens when you aren't home to sign for delivery? Does FedEx try again the next day? Or can you go pick it up from their distribution center?

I've always been able to sign a release form and tape it to my door for the UPS guy and he will leave the box by the back door. Never had an issue - the release form is usually available on the order status page in the days leading up to delivery.

Still confused?

Sorry, I'm still confused.

Is everyone changing their billing address before pre-order and then reverting back to matching addresses after the order is placed?

or

Changing the shipping address quickly after the order is placed?

Changing shipping address will delay your order.

Thanks. I'm going to leave everything as is. Once it ships I'll just have FedEx hold my package at local facility, since I can't sign for it. Then I can pick it up after work next Friday.
