I have the 15 Pro Max. Unless a jaw-dropping hardware surprise is announced (and/or they introduce a 2TB storage tier), I'll probably hold onto it for another year. Just had the camera replaced a few months ago, and I may need a battery replacement soon (that'll be covered under Apple Care), but it's still a solid performer for just about everything I need. I had a Nokia flip phone before my first iPhone, so the novelty of a foldable is lost on me.

Planning to upgrade my 14 Pro to the 17 Pro. Foldable doesn’t get me excited. Got a coworker with one and honestly it seems more of a chore folding/unfolding. If I go through that action it better be like my mid 00’s flip phone where a wrist flick opens it up.

I'm a bit on the fence. My current phone is the 14 Pro, and although I feel like I'm due for an upgrade, I *really* want a foldable phone. In light of that, it probably makes sense to wait, but we'll see whether I feel like making sense.

I am going to be upgrading from the 14PM this year (every 2 to 3 years, my typical upgrade cycle), although if the fold comes out next year as rumoured, I might grab it? Although not immediate, wait a month or two to see the reviews about it and how good it is first, the first-gen Fold? I typically never go for 1st-gen of any product.

If that makes any sense.

From me side, to be interested on Foldable iphone it shoud be much different than current ones, because I don’t like square shape on inner screen. I hate watching videos with so big black bars.

Regarding upgrading to 17PM, I currently have 15PM and I really hope a big step forward as 16PM was a “meh” upgrade. Do you find the the “camera control” useful? My wife has 16P and she has used 2/3 times the new control to try it but always ends using on screen controls (she loves cameras).

I'm waiting for the fold. I've got a 15 Pro Max, it's not exactly ancient, but since Apple Intelligence I've noticed apps get booted out of memory much more quickly now (despite me turning AI off!)

I would have liked to upgrade this year, but I'm not going to replace a phone after just a year, and I hate selling stuff as there's always so much risk of being ripped off.

Still rocking my 12 mini, my upgrade cycle is 6 years but I planned initially to get the Air this year. But I've scraped the plans finally due to a crisis of (Apple) faith, so I may reconsider next year if I want to stick to Apple ecosystem or move to something that gives me more freedom like Fairphone + /e/OS Murana.

I'll be upgrading my 11 to either the base 17 or a Pro model. I'll decide a few weeks after they're out and then wait for the first price-drop here in Europe, which usually comes towards the end of October. It's a very small drop, but every bit helps!

Part of the reason I'm sticking with Apple is that I liked iOS 18 and think iOS 26 is even better.

It could be I have less issues than some because my phone's too old to support AI, but I can always disable that if necessary.

I can't imagine a personal use-case for a foldable phone at this point. Perhaps someday, but it seems unlikely.
This is a likely upgrade year for me from 13PM to 17PM.

I asked Grok to list some differences. Whether or not they're all accurate 🤷‍♂️
