On the bus? On the train? On the Light Rail? On a plane? Your Child's elementary school? These are all no weapons zones.

What kind of bus? City bus? If I were ever to get on one, yes I would.

On a plane? Dumb question, obviously not, but I pack it in my checked baggage.

Elementary school? Again obviously not, I leave it in my car.

I don't know what the "Light Rail" is? Subway? I'm not familiar with those.

If you do not know what a light rail is, then you must live in the boonies. http://www.valleymetro.org/metro_light_rail/

Though it is showing the fact you never been on a city bus before. I took my iMac home on the bus, and I didn't get mugged, it is just normal people on it to get to a destination. You probably believe they are "ghetto" because of the television & media. Thank you Fox News. My company has a trip reduction program, and we get TRP benefits just by taking the bus to work 3 out of 5 days work week.

Not really, I live in Tacoma, which is about 20 minutes south of Seattle. I just have my own car(s) and don't ever use public transit.
I drive a 2004 Toyota Camry, and I still take the bus and public transportation. If you never use it, it just means you do not like to try different things....how did you end up with a Mac? It is sad how people can't even get out of their cars to go across the street/a few miles down the road.

Ok it just sounds like you're picking a fight here. Some of us just like driving places.

Yeah, I am a long time 1911 shooter, but couldn't see me carrying one daily for a number of reasons. The USP is great because the controls are very close to those on a 1911, while offering the advantage of a DA/SA trigger, polymer frame, and a slightly higher capacity magazine.

I usually pack as much as I can without it being uncomfortable or being seen. Usually this means 1 mag in a leg pocket, but it just so happens on the day I took that pic I had two mags in a belt holster.

.

I am going to pickup a few 8 round mags soon. I like the single action of the 1911, i know the safety works. I can visually see the safety. I also like being able to see the hammer. My dad has a glock model 23 (.40 S and W) I shot it a few times, I hate the no hammer design.

I have converted him since to using sig sauers. he bought my p239. In his words, "i can shot the sig all day without my hands bothering me".

To those that say why carry a gun every where, why wear a seatbelt? Do you really need a seatbelt in a car?

Well if you're a cop, that's different.

If you aren't a cop, then it's just a poor example. ;)

How's it different? a cop uses the best means of self protection to protect his life. when cops stopping carrrying guns, and find a better way to protect themselves I will stop carrying a gun.

Bus, yes. Public tranist being local government can't disallow carry in my area. And is one of the most likely times that would require it.

Train, no. Amtrak has regulations against it.

Light rail, yes. Again, public tranist. Loads of muggings have happened at the stops, including several olderly people being beat down for no real reason.

On a plane, no. Federal regulations prohibit it. In the airport however, yes.

Public schools, yes. The signs at the door say no weapon zone, but it is not illegal in my area to CCW while on public school grounds.

Private schoos, yes/ no. Depends on the school and their policies. Many of the private schools I work with have no problem with it.

I'm glad most firearms are restricted in this country... especially handguns. Cite cultural differences, but I don't see why a normal person would feel the need to always carry one. Oh, its also illegal to carry a switchblade type knife here too, though going by blade-length it's ok to carry a katana... I guess that'd be hard to hide.

It's not like people take out their guns and point it at the cashier at the supermarket. :D Guns are problems almost exclusively in poor areas of cities in the US. Most Americans don't have to worry about being a victim of gun violence.

To answer your questions in order:

Obviously it depends a bit where you live, but for most people I would say the chance of being in a car accident (where a seatbelt would help) is much higher than that of being in a situation where you need to shoot someone.

Yes, you do, unless you don't really like your face and ribcage.

My day is shot if I leave any of those at home. I'll constantly feel like I'm missing more than just the one thing I left and it'll drive me nuts all day.

Look! Real photos! Taken with an iSight, so they look really bad :p

... aaand despite flipping them, they've all appeared backwards.
