I was in Apple Store Dubai today, they tested the phone with some tasks, swiping the screen and filling it with blue. In the end, they said that everything was fine and suggested doing a reset. They said that sometimes they identify problematic screens and change the display in 1-2 days.

18.4 so far on my 16PM seems much smoother overall. I’m using a spidgen screen protector. Before it was touchy at times with the screen sensitivity. I felt it was software because once in awhile I would have to hit the send on a text message 10 or more times for it to send other times it worked perfectly. I even took the screen protector off which helped a bit. It's now back on and with 18.4 it feels like a new phone.

In Italy changed screen at Apple Store in a few hours but the problem isn’t screen

Im wondering what this problem really is.... I was so scared to purchase a 16PM but I chose 2 weeks ago and I got 512 GB Titanium 16 PM and I have no problems at all. But I use it without screen protector.

Yeah I suppose. But if the same screen protector breaks this phone but not the other model or even same model different production date, it's kind of a screen problem as well.

I reported this issue to Apple Support and after them doing several diagnostics they agreed to have it in to fix. Soon after they received the phone by mail, I received confirmation it was repaired and on it's way back to me.
The receipt/note inside said the fault symptom was 'cellular/phone/no service/no signal' with no mention of the 'touch screen issue' I reported and the description says Logic Board Assy Mid System. However the phone looks new, definitely isn't the same one I sent in either as it's a different serial number - also battery cycle count was 0 and manufactured Jan 2025 (previous phone was August 2024 I believe).

I have to say, I haven't experienced ANY touch screen issues on this phone. I dare not tell them my issue was touch screen and not a cellular issue in case they mixed my order up and want this phone back 😂

If you have problems with Pro Max, try to replace it for a new build.

Just tried one picked up yesterday in Apple Store and it behaves just like my Pro non Max. Very snappy.

Will now change back to Max as I miss the bigger screen.

What issues did you have ? Did they perform test online or did you visit them personally ?

So are you saying Apple finally has pro max’s with normal touch sensitivity and no touch issues?

And how do you get Apple to swap it? I aleady tried and they told me my touch is fine because they were able to swipe every little box on the touch test

Thanks for sharing this. Do you mind telling us when that phone/battery was manufactured? And what was the storage capacity?

I ordered the 16 Pro Max 1TB a few weeks ago from Apple and the battery is from October 2024 (the iOS version was also from the same month). That’s a pity, I expected a much newer device.

What would be the best strategy to get the 16PM produced in or after January 2025? To go for the 512GB version as they are sold more often?

October 2024. Phone built in March 2025 according to the guy in Apple Store that could see it in their internal systems.

256GB version.

Battery manufacture != Phone manufacture. Units built in October 2024 are sold long ago.

Thanks, jajo.j!

If I buy it online, no one will tell me what the manufacture date is, of course, but I can also imagine that the battery produced in October doesn’t mean that the phone was also made in the same month. However, I saw that my device came with iOS 18.0.1 pre-installed (released on 3 October 2024) and this wasn’t a good sign, I thought.

What was the iOS version of your phone?

Mine came with 18.4. I assume they don't update them after manufacture.

18.4 is a different story. I would be more than happy with that!

I think it indeed means that 256/512GB versions have much more turnover and new batches arrive more frequently. Hmmm. I really wanted to get a 1TB one.
