Disappointed

I ordered on April 23. At first they replies so fast, but these three weeks I got no response. So I asked for a refund yesterday, luckily paypal was helpful. If I keep waiting, maybe it will arrive later than my portenzo case (shipped yesterday)....

I sent a simple, polite email over a week ago--my first one since ordering--and have received no response. FYI--I ordered April 18.

I just heard from Treegloo (without sending another email). Perhaps they actually took time off for the holiday and got behind in responding. They were very nice and resolved an issue I had in a very customer friendly way.

Do they makes holster with other material other than wood? plastic? aluminum? I likes book concept.

I like the book concept too. I've been researching these cases for about a week now. I've come to the conclusion that I'm keeping my STM Skinny (I have the back folding fix thing coming in the mail as I type.)

For these book cases, it seems like the manufacturers all take a very long time to ship, and there's a lot of quality control issues. I do woodwork for fun, and I don't have a lot of faith that a sliver of laminated plywood is going to be durable. It wouldn't take much of a jolt to break that plywood free.

I'd love a book case, kept as skinny as possible, and use some type of plastic or rubber as the "pages" instead of wood.

I know of a company right now that is researching making a case just like these without wood - it would be matte black delrin or CNC'd aluminum and have much better QC and control. Stay tuned. And don't think aluminum in the normal sense, you can powdercoat any color.

That sounds really great! Are you at liberty to give out any information on this company? Do they have other products?

No...no data not at this time....they are asking me to consult...Their design/ feasability study not completed...I will say their objectives are:
3 week turnaround on orders
Every case fits the same and never gets "loose"
Typing angle greater than current bookcase cases
All the normal options seen with the current crop

Man, that sounds great. I don't know much about CNC, etc, but I'd assume that since it's computer cut-out it'd be a much quicker turn around, without having to use a router on plywood and then sand it and stain it, etc. Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely be sticking with my STM Skinny until I hear more about this case.

I've been waiting 2 months for my case, and I've been very understanding of Treegloo's delays and struggles to keep up with demand. However, they've now been completely ignoring any emails I send inquiring about my order (I send one every other week).

For those of you who cancelled your orders for a refund, how did you go about it? I don't think communicating with Treegloo directly is an option considering the fact that they seem to be ignoring customers more regularly now.

My understanding is that the Treegloo is not made from plywood as most of the others are. That is one reason I ordered from them. When those made from plywood are routed for the various openings, different layers are exposed, and IMO the results are less aesthetically pleasing than the Treegloo.

I am also interested in materials other than wood for the frame in a book style case. I look forward to what comes of glen_e's consulting.

Anyone else still having problems with Treegloo? Up to now I've tried to be supportive and understanding, but I've about had it. Ordered a case on March 28th (first day you could order from their website). Received it on April 18th (not bad), but the frame was warped. The Ipad wouldn't stay in the frame, and I couldn't access the buttons through the cutouts. Contacted them and agreed to send the case back for a replacement. We also agreed that I would eat the shipping cost to pay for a magnetic latch feature on my new case.

Waited about a month (May 16th), then sent them an e-mail asking for an approximate ship date. Was told it would ship that week or next. On May 31st sent another inquiry as to ship date. They replied (June 1) that my case had been ready but there was a problem with the magnetic cover, so they had to re-make it. Promised to ship quickly (that week).

Finally ran out of patience, and e-mailed them June 11th asking to cancel my order and refund my original purchase price as well as the money I spent sending the case back. As of this evening, haven't received a response. I'm out nearly $100 ($85 for the case and $11 for shipping it back), without anything to show for it.

Very disappointed. Although they can't seem to find the time to respond to my latest e-mail, I see they regularly scrub any negative comments from their Facebook page during the last week. Sorry for the long post.

Im on the same boat as you, i ordered on march 28th, and nothing. just a promise that its coming. They upgraded me to free 2 day fedex, and cloth lining supposedly. But havent gotten in email in 3 weeks then one response then nothing in 2. they asked me if i wanted to cancel, why cancel know that its almost 3 months now might as well see what the final product is..

Same here. I ordered on March 30th originally, 2 cases, spent a lot of money. After many failed shipping promises due to supposed "delays" in various products I actually received both cases on May 1st. I contacted them immediately, same day, because one case had a slight separation in one of the corners of the frame and it didn't seem like it would last. They contacted me back right away saying a replacement would be put into the work queue immediately and would ship by the end of the week. Well, it's been 1 1/2 months since then and still no replacement. I have contacted them now countless times about it, some emails are answered, some are not. Every time they actually answer, I'm told it will ship by the end of the week. The last email I received from them was June 1st and I have contacted them twice since then with no responses.

I don't know what these guys are doing but I they need to upgrade the office from their Grandmother's basement and hire some extra help because they obviously can't keep up with demand. Every time I see the 2-4 week shipping estimate on their website I just laugh.

At this point, I really want to just cancel but this is something that is almost 3 months in the works, 1/4 of a year. I would hate to cancel now and start over with a different company. I really like the case but the case with the problem is almost unusable at this point, the iPad wants to come out because of that corner with just a slight downward angle. Not really sure what to do....

I had several reasons for my post (#336). One was just to vent, but I hoped that Treegloo might be looking at the forums. This morning I received an e-mail from Treeglooo that they would process my refund request. I also received a Paypal notice that my refund was available. Mission accomplished, I guess. Good luck to the rest of you.

This is really pathetic. Obviously Treegloo doesn't have a clue what they are doing. I can't fathom running a business where I didn't respond to customer emails, don't ship product, and can't handle payments/refunds. If Treegloo can't afford additional help, then their business model sucks and they should just shut the doors. How on earth can they not even know when they will ship a case out? Do they have no idea of how many units/day they are producing? Hello?? Wow.

Unhappy with Treegloo? Try Rook Case

Those looking for a Book Style case but don't want the plain case everyone else has should check out Rook Case, just search Google for them.

Any reviews on the Rook Case? I saw them on Etsy, and they are well priced and seem to be "in stock." They look a tad thick. I'd really like to learn more about them.

Well, I sent them an email yesterday asking for a response by the end of the day and I received no response.

Now I have to decide whether or not I want to throw away the last 3 months and just cancel my order completely.

I finally just asked for a refund. I waited 2 months for the case that I was only able to use for 2 weeks. They have been promising to ship out my replacement case since the middle of May and I still don't have a case. Now I have to pay to ship the unusable case back to them just to get my money back. And I actually don't have any confidence that I will get a refund. And I still dont have a case. :(

Is there anyway to request a refund from the method you used to pay? (ie credit card or PayPal?)

BTW - I encountered a slow shipper once, and I was coming up to the deadline to file a complaint with PayPal, so I prophylactically filed a complaint with PayPal, but didn't escalate it, so that the complaint was on file with them, and then that gave the shipper time to ship the item, without me being a risk from not being able to file a complaint against them.

I have gone through the same thing. They promised a replacement back in April and each time I have e-mailed them asking for an update they have told me "your case should ship out later this week." This goes all the way back to April. I used to really be into this company because of their options in customization and superior customer service. But I can't stand behind them anymore. This recent string of events is some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered.

THIS.

FWIW finally got a reply from them today after more than a month w/ the wrong case:

Apologies for the delay — we have been in the process of changing facilities and hiring new members. We do have your order in production and will be able to ship the correct case to you by Monday.

Still no excuse for the lack of communication and empty promises though.

I just sent an email to them requesting a refund for my 2nd case. I have emailed them 3 times in the last 3 weeks with no response at all. I have been told my replacement case was going to ship "by the end of this week" for almost 2 months now and I have not received anything.

I also told them I am not paying to ship the case back to them as it never arrived to me in proper condition, I don't feel like I should have to fork out money for something that is not my fault.

We'll see how it goes.

I did promptly receive a refund after I sent them the tracking number for the return case. I was pleased that I didn't have to wait forever to receive my refund. I was out of $7.00 to ship it back to them, but I guess the cost my lesson learned.

Another week, another promise of "it'll ship out this upcoming week." Their customer service has gone from stellar to so-so to just plain HORRIBLE now.

For anyone still considering Treegloo for a case, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY.
