This is pretty funny, though I doubt Samsung paid them. I don't really think Samsung has enough traction here to do that. Yes, Galaxy is a huge line in the U.S. but it's nothing compared to South Korea. In SK Samsung is the alpha omega, here they're just another brand. I don't really think there would be any worth in sending people to troll customers of another business.. especially when those customers are obviously fairly loyal to that business.

People with pathetic lives.

Anyone in the Philly area? Theres a Best Buy near me that doesn't sell official Apple products - all all, just 3rd party cases! But they have a massive Samsung only section in the middle of the store. Lets go taunt anyone that is looking to buy a new Note.

Actually, I have much better things to do.

You wont find iphone users hanging around the line for a galaxy s6 or a new htc one. They're content with what they have and dont need to go on a smartphone jihad to reassure their purchases.

Same reason why there are nowhere near as many iphone users posting on androidcentral forums than android users posting on the other devices subforum here.

Nor do you ever hear Apple dogging the competition in their commercials.

What Apple has (among other things) that their competition doesn't is leading and record sales. Apple sold over 10 million iphone 6's in the first weekend, and they haven't even begun to sell to China yet, which is another huge iphone market.

The closest Apple has was the "I'm a PC and I'm a Mac" commercials but those didn't name any PC vendor specifically.

Samsung is so pathetic that they probably would pay people to do that. They're so nervous now that Apple released a bigger sized iPhone lol

Samsung has already admitted to paying college students in other countries to bash and troll rival brands. Why is it so hard to believe that they wouldn't do the same in America?

I'd have enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with a bit of playful ribbing.

Some guys are too sensitive about stuff that's not even remotely important.

This is beyond that. It was clearly planned. I enjoy hearty banter as much as the next person. Or jokes and humor. But this was pre meditated.

Of course it was planned. That's part of the attraction. Good times, learn to enjoy it.

(Please don't say banter, it's tragic, you don't go to Eton).

You took it wayyy too seriously man. If I were you I would have joked with him. Gosh people should start to realize what is more important in life.

Joked with him so you can be a tool too? Just ignore the saddo and get on with life.

I was standing in line at the Apple Store today to pick up my iPhone 6. There was this guy (obviously paid by Samsung) who was spectating. He was lightly but deliberately mocking us about being sheep (in a passive-aggressive manner) and how Apple has brainwashed us into liking the iPhone 6. And then this guy casually slips in how his Samsung phone has removable memory, how it had a large screen for so long and spouting pro-Samsung comments.

Honestly I don't think he's too far off.

A year ago, 90% of the users here would have argued that any screen size larger than 4" would be way too big and impractical.

Now that Apple has done a complete 180 degree turn and decided that they were so terribly wrong about the 4" screen that they couldn't even be bothered to keep it in their phone line-up, 90% of the users are now raving about how awesome their new 4.7" and 5.5" screens are. After so many years of Android users trying to convince Apple users that bigger screens are better, iSheeps only decide that it's okay to have a bigger screen after Apple goes ahead and gives their approval.

Why do Android users need to convince people? Isn't it all about preference? I got the S4 but wasn't used to the eco-system.

He also talked trash about Apple's infamous 1984 ad and how it referenced Microsoft when it talked about "Big Brother". I wasn't going to waste my breath on this guy but it was hard to not say that he was wrong and "Big Brother" refers to IBM not Microsoft.

The Apple Store staff were extremely professional. They could have intervened and asked him to leave. But they completely ignored him. They were eyeing him periodically; I think to make sure he wasn't a threat/danger to us. I overheard the person behind me (tried not to eavesdrop but he was literally talking into my ear) say that his friend was at the same Apple Store the day before with a different guy doing the same thing. And another person said he saw the same thing at a different Apple Store. Maybe some shady marketing tactic by Samsung? Or an over zealous group of Samsung fanboys? Who knows.

Just wanted to share a story. Please don't read into it. There is no lines and nothing between them.
Wow what kind of sad individual stands outside a shop and mocks people for buying products he has no intention of buying himself? I love how he referred to you as 'sheep' and how you are 'brainwashed', yet he was there preaching himself and forcing his opinions on you! No hypocrisy there at all lol. Its bad enough when you see people doing it on forums but in the actual street is something else.

I hope he was told to get a life. :)

You couldn't do it even if you wanted to... Because there never will be lines for those phones... lol...

To be honest it's always the Android trolls - even on iPhone related videos they're the ones always commenting. You never really see it the other way around (or at least I haven't).

Agreed. Afterall, it's just a phone.
Yeah but don't you both think standing outside a shop and taking the mick out of people, and spouting off about rival products is just a little bit sad?

Its one thing having a bit of friendly banter on the internet over different products, but going down to the shopping centre and acting like a preacher to people who don't really care is beyond banter. I'm sure people did laugh and enjoy it, but this chap was doing it because he believed he was doing a service, and that is the tragic part.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't bother wasting effort on my part talking to him. I was there to get my iPhone 6. My goal started and ended with that. Some people just don't get it.

Apple and Steve Jobs had reasons for why large screens didn't work a few years ago. Battery technology wasn't there (look up battery life tests going back 3-4 years, you'll find it was appreciably less than small phones), display tech wasn't there and also it was hard to use. Notice how Apple drastically improved battery life especially with 6 Plus. Display technology is being reviewed as the best LCD (although Samsung's OLED panels today are best overall but remember the large OLED panels 3-4 years ago were definitely not close to being best anything). And iOS 8 has Reachability to help with using a large screen. Apple didn't slap on a bigger screen with little to regards to its consequences like other companies did. Apple isn't about being first and having to deal with consequences of being first (in this case, less battery life, worse display quality, hard to use). They wait until they think they can negate the consequences and come out with something with significantly less/zero compromise.

Steve usually hated X for reasons Y, Z, A, etc. Once those reasons or problems were fixed, then why hate X? Similar goes for small tablets. Apple waited until their software was ready to make sure it wasn't harder to use than large/normal size tablets.

Also the iPhone 5S and 5C still are part of the iPhone lineup. 5S still ranks near the top for many benchmarks, 1 year later.

Nah. I don't talk to people I don't like if I can avoid doing so.

I doubt if he was paid by anyone.

I HIGHLY doubt he was actually paid by Samsung. It sounds like more of an Android zealot who had too much time on his hands. Also... South Koreans don't go physically abusing Japanese products. That one made me laugh. lol....

This is completely plausible. Have you not seen their commercials? Their paid endorsements? They even got into hot water with the White Freakin' House about it. Everything they do reeks of desperation; like the kid who wants to answer every question in class just to try and prove to everyone how smart he is.

Also, this:
Samsung has already admitted to paying college students in other countries to bash and troll rival brands. Why is it so hard to believe that they wouldn't do the same in America?

Why would you let something like that bother you? It's nothing. Some people just want to keep pushing how 'superior' their products are. Just like the personality of many Apple users who were clamoring how 3.5'' was the best size. People get way too attached to device's they will throw away years from now.

Did Apple Discontinue the 5C & 5s ?
Something for everyone, yes ?

The differentiator for a few years was "Mine is Bigger".
I've heard that before.
