Steve's reasons for insisting that the 3.5" was the perfect size had nothing to do at all with technology.

----------

They didn't think it was worth updating the iPhone 6 with the traditional screen size. It's pretty clear that they don't intend to continue with the size.

Your evidence for this comes from...? Gut? Talking to Steve's ghost? Other-world experiences? It had everything to do with technology (both hardware and software). It was also why the iPhone was released before the iPad. Something Steve talked about himself.

I really don't understand the phone wars. It's not like this with any other industry I can think of except for smaller hobby style groups. People racing cars may argue about which manufacture is the best but you don't see people buying a Ford and then everyone disowning them and telling them how much Ford sucks and they should have bought a Fiat because it's so much better. I really don't get it.

I have had Android and Apple phones, they're both great. They both have really strong points and some weak points. Apple usually has really polished products that go seamlessly between hardware to software to all the other stuff they make, it all connects and just works. Android is great because they get some really cool technology really quickly, they have all sorts of screen sizes, all sorts of software advances, etc; typically it isn't as seamless as Apple but that's the price you pay for getting it so quickly.

I don't see why we all can't get along.

Back on topic, considering Samsung's long history of making fun of apple customers in line on launch day including in tv commercials, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was recording these guys from Samsung hoping for reactions from Apple customers.

They'd then post the vids on youtube and hope they go viral or if they got really good material they'd piece them together into another commercial.

Wow, being paid to simply troll all day...

Where can I apply for that job? :p

You can't. it only exists in certain people's minds.

I was standing in line at the Apple Store today to pick up my iPhone 6. There was this guy (obviously paid by Samsung) who was spectating. He was lightly but deliberately mocking us about being sheep (in a passive-aggressive manner) and how Apple has brainwashed us into liking the iPhone 6. And then this guy casually slips in how his Samsung phone has removable memory, how it had a large screen for so long and spouting pro-Samsung comments. He also talked trash about Apple's infamous 1984 ad and how it referenced Microsoft when it talked about "Big Brother". I wasn't going to waste my breath on this guy but it was hard to not say that he was wrong and "Big Brother" refers to IBM not Microsoft.

The Apple Store staff were extremely professional. They could have intervened and asked him to leave. But they completely ignored him. They were eyeing him periodically; I think to make sure he wasn't a threat/danger to us. I overheard the person behind me (tried not to eavesdrop but he was literally talking into my ear) say that his friend was at the same Apple Store the day before with a different guy doing the same thing. And another person said he saw the same thing at a different Apple Store. Maybe some shady marketing tactic by Samsung? Or an over zealous group of Samsung fanboys? Who knows.

Just wanted to share a story. Please don't read into it. There is no lines and nothing between them.

sounds like youre paid by apple.

Yes, he was wrong about the 1984 ad. Big Brother was IBM.

Anyone that would do this if they weren't getting paid is just lonely.

Do you know that Samsung stock has drop to 2 year low in Korea.

They don't like that Apple is selling iphones like water

You may be on to something. I also think Samsung is paying trolls to bend iPhones and turn off data cellular connection after updating it 8.0.1.

:rolleyes::apple::rolleyes:

Hey man, you have to admit it is sort of funny right? Don't get too bent out of shape over some guys having fun. I got my iphone6 today, been loving it! Just saying, if it bothers you, don't play into their trap by making a forum post about it.

My money would be on a Samsung fanboy. I've seen people do similar quite loudly at Best Buy.

Don't be surprised if you see yourself on a youtube video entitled "Trolling Apple Sheep" or something close to that...

You wont find iphone users hanging around the line for a galaxy s6 or a new htc one. They're content with what they have and dont need to go on a smartphone jihad to reassure their purchases.

Same reason why there are nowhere near as many iphone users posting on androidcentral forums than android users posting on the other devices subforum here.

100% agree with you

Hehe! Love it!

I enjoying trolling for free online.

Sony, call me! I have no problem getting paid and telling the truth by saying the Xperia Z3 is better than the iPhone 6 in every way! I'm doing it here already.

Xperia Z3/Z3 Compact >> iPhone 6/iWiggleWiggle 6+

Why on earth does anyone feel they need to personally defend Apple? If the 6 Plus bends easier than other phones, so be it? Why does anyone feel the need that they need to destroy another phone to feel better about their phone? Are we that crazy about our phones?
Simple: To neutralize the hypocrisy.

If it were my GS4, I wouldn't have done it (I would have sold it) but hey, let the man do with his phone as he pleases.

I wouldn't get ahead of yourself.

Granted, older iterations, but I wouldn't be shocked if we see similar results from the Z3... That is if anyone buys it. :)

Sony is trying so desperately to get a foothold in the smartphone market and just not having a whole hell of a lot of success, regardless of how "good" their phones are. Be honest, how many strangers have you actually seen in person with Xperia Z phones? They need to stick with what's successful and profitable for them: the PS4.

Nonetheless, for what it's worth, I'd love to see Sony somehow knock Samsung off their "Android throne," although I don't see it happening.

The only thing that makes your iphone any better then my sg5 or my note3 is that it's what you want and prefer and like. I like my phones and in my opinion they are better, opinions are like A@@holes everyone has one.;)

I know right. If it is salary and comes with benefits, sign me up. I will troll and bash apple products all day for samsung. Hell to even show Apple's iSheep the errors of their choice I will even open up and play all of Samsung's iphone or iPad bashing ads on my iPhone 6+ or iPad rMini for them while they wait in line for their new inferior and out-dated Apple device. :D
