"If Tim...Apple" doesn't want 10%, 100%, 1000% tariffs on iPhones and iPads. Who doesn't like iPads? C'mon! Get rid of DEI!!!"

I love this picture. LOL.

"Apple recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal"

It's a shame; anyway, please, bear in mind that sentence when you write you feel "different" (=better) because you "stay with that company"
its because of those values of inclusion and diversity most people like Apple anyways, if you don't like it, there is always Android and Windows...

It's amazing how many people there are that claim to be against racism but support policies that allow an employer to hire one candidate over another because they prefer the the first candidate's skin color. (DEI)

It's against American federal law. The Civil Rights Law of 1964 says you cannot base hiring or promotion on, among other factors, race. DEI needs to die. It's illegal and morally wrong.

I'm so sick of this orange Antichrist. Everyday it's some new BS we have to hear. I'm avoiding the news for the next four-five years, but it's impossible to since I visit this site often and Macrumors can't help but keep posting about him.

Why is the government telling private corporations how to handle their internal affairs? Isn't the Republican Party all about reducing and limiting the role of government?
The Civil Rights Law of 1964 says you cannot discriminate in hiring and promotion based on race (and hiring someone because of their race over another person meets that standard). Do you disagree with that law?

This is such an easy topic. It's shocking that people are so wrong on it. You're not allowed to hire people based on race. THATS RACIST.

I dont blame you, but its good to have a source like MacRumors report on it because you can't be ignorant of news in times like this and I for one welcome it.

Secondly, the problem with many DEI programs is that they are technically unnecessary in the US and are often implemented in a way that discriminates in favor of protected persons.

What is your opinion of the WILDLY unqualified and inappropriate appointments and hirings by this administration, solely on the basis of fealty to Trump and his policies?

Trump, how many businesses have you bankrupted now? When you can run a business as successfully as Apple, you can tell them how to run their company.
Please elaborate on Trump's bankruptcies, and please explain the meaning of bankruptcy in the world of entrepreneurship.

EDIT: we’re gonna be waiting a long time for this. They’ve got nothing.

The sad part here is that Tim (apparently?) thought 1MM of confetti was going to someone be enough to keep Trump off his & Apple's back?

Grow a backbone Tim, or you're going to eventually be doing anything "dear leader" wants you to do.

These are not normal times where a simple, small, "business quid pro quo" will save your values or your soul

The comments here are hilarious. We all complain about software bugs, Apple is behind on “X”. Apple design is terrible. Etc., etc. Yet when it is obvious Apple needs to return to it’s long successful process of hiring the best {engineers, artists, business people, managers} people out there, the celebration to continue reverse racism hiring practices is unbelievable. I don’t care what the person’s sex or skin color is. What country they came from. Who they choose to sleep with. What color their hair is. JUST FIX THE MULTITUDE OF ISSUES WITH iOS and MacOS!

When did hiring competent people become so controversial?

Political officials (i.e. the president) are able to pick political appointees that will implement their agenda. What are you even talking about lol.

But of course all appointees of Democrat presidents are perfectly qualified, right?

I'm sure everyone is fine with Joe Biden's pathetic efforts to illegally ratify an Amendment to the Constitution at the end of his failed presidency. And everyone ignored him because he's senile. Oh yeah, that's totally cool.

Political discourse is this country is so vapid, my goodness.

The only constitutional requirements are that the candidate must be a natural-born U.S. citizen and at least 35 years old.
Not true. dt is forbidden from holding office by both the US Constitution, and federal law. But I guess the oaths congressmen from my own party took are meaningless:

US Constitution, 14th Amendment Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

18 U.S. Code Chapter 101:
Records and Reports
$2071 Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally:

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years. or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.
