I was joking.
I appreciate you clarifying
That said, I don't think we should be joking about "going to jail if you don't comply"
I was joking.
Incorrect. DEI is about white hatred. If you believe that someone should be hired over someone else because their skin color is preferable, you're a racist and you're just like the racist white southerners from the 1960s. That is what DEI is, favoring people based on their skin color and other traits. It's shocking how you can write what you did and have no self-reflection.the anti-DEI crusade was never about freedom of association or fairness in hiring, it was always about supporting white supremacy.
The comments here are hilarious. We all complain about software bugs, Apple is behind on “X”. Apple design is terrible. Etc., etc. Yet when it is obvious Apple needs to return to it’s long successful process of hiring the best {engineers, artists, business people, managers} people out there, the celebration to continue reverse racism hiring practices is unbelievable. I don’t care what the person’s sex or skin color is. What country they came from. Who they choose to sleep with. What color their hair is. JUST FIXING THE MULTITUDE OF ISSUES WITH iOS and MacOS!
When did hiring competent people become so controversial?
It’s because Elon is the real president.I'm amazed that Trump has the time to focus on stuff like this. There must be other things that's more important.
The unfortunate part is that both the Left and the Right take the bait and spend way too much time fighting about these issues rather than recognizing the real agenda that is being enacted.
But it is clear that a$$le pushed to vote AGAINST these values?its because of those values of inclusion and diversity most people like Apple anyways, if you don't like it, there is always Android and Windows...
Sure...I agree. But the Left took the bait and helped make the entire campaign about DEI and Immigration. Trump and Musk framed the debate and the Left showed up with bullhorns to echo the debate that had been framed for them.In this case it's really a large faction of Right who got totally fooled and I guess "saw what they wanted to see" and voted on that.
Project 2025 was widely discussed, and dismissed by too many, and it's exactly what they are doing
Let's not forget that Trump lied through his teeth and claimed to know nothing about it and have nothing to do with it.
As the saying goes: "there's nothing common about common sense"
Trump is absolutely right DEI is discriminatory!
In an all-caps post on Truth Social today, U.S. President Donald Trump said Apple should fully end its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.
![]()
"APPLE SHOULD GET RID OF DEI RULES, NOT JUST MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO THEM," he wrote.
Trump's post comes one day after Apple held its annual shareholders meeting, during which a majority of shareholders voted against a proposal that asked the company to consider abolishing its Inclusion & Diversity policies and goals.
The proposal was submitted by the U.S. National Center for Public Policy Research, which calls itself a "non-partisan, free-market, independent conservative think tank." The organization said that DEI programs pose "litigation, reputational, and financial risks to companies, and therefore financial risks to their shareholders."
Apple recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal, labeling it as an attempt to "micromanage" the company's business operations. Apple said that it already actively monitors its operations to maintain compliance with applicable non‑discrimination laws. During the shareholder meeting, Apple CEO Tim Cook acknowledged that the company may be forced to make changes to its DEI policies in the future, as required by law. Trump believes that Apple should get rid of the policies, rather than modify them.
In any case, Cook told shareholders that Apple will always have a culture of belonging.
"We strive to create a culture of belonging where everyone can do their best work," said Apple, in its annual shareholders meeting notice.
Trump has criticized DEI programs since returning to the White House. Last month, he signed an executive order that "terminates 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' (DEI) discrimination in the federal workforce." In response, some other tech companies like Google have scaled back DEI policies in recent weeks.

Please elaborate on Trump's bankruptcies, and please explain the meaning of bankruptcy in the world of entrepreneurship.
Plese google "Which company in the US has the largest market cap today." Report your findings. Then square that with your opinion that Apple is not innovative and is making poor business choices in hiring. I'll wait.Trump is absolutely right DEI is discriminatory!
DEI recruitment is also the reason Apple are falling behind, they simply (at best) have very average engineers, hence the lack of innovation and constant bugs in the software.
DEI is discrimination, a good president, should eradicate discrimination wherever it exists.Wrong president Trump. Stay out of corporations legal hiring practices.
Which part of diversity, equity, and inclusive hurt you?Incorrect. DEI is about white hatred. If you believe that someone should be hired over someone else because their skin color is preferable, you're a racist and you're just like the racist white southerners from the 1960s. That is what DEI is, favoring people based on their skin color and other traits. It's shocking how you can write what you did and have no self-reflection.
Just to make it clear: judging someone based on their race is wrong and illegal. So, please stop doing it.
Even better, let’s not have a solely government controlled school system (the government SUCKS at running things, as we’ve seen) and let’s stop being racist against people. I think that seems fair. If you actually believe that people’s current day struggles can legitimately be connected to slavery and civil rights struggles (and that’s just for black Americans, it’s amazing how anyone who comes to the US suddenly deems themselves the inheritors of the legacy of slaves…INSANE), then you are not paying attention. This was recommended to me on YouTube just yesterday. It looks like one of the consequences of DEI.
I think rather than deny people like this kid opportunity by reserving seats for "underrepresented groups", we should just have a single-payer education system, starting with STEM subjects. If you have the grades, you get in, regardless of your color. If it's a single-payer, low-cost, then no can complain about racism or "historical injustice" or funding. Everyone gets the same opportunity and people with the best grades move forward. This is how it's done in Asia and even Europe.
So you’re happy with the multitude of issues Apple currently has both software and hardware wise. Good to note. How much value a company has at the moment is meaningless. Ask BlackBerry how quickly that can all disappear. This comment is funny. You do realize that Apple is the most valuable company in the world today, right? Trying to claim that Apple has been hiring unqualified people because people like to complain on MacRumors is not evidence supporting your position. And your position falls apart when you realize the success that Apple has created in the market.
