Colour me flabbergasted.

Will Apple be selling the 6s as separate Samsung and TSMC branded iPhones, I wonder? I'm sure they both have excellent battery life, but it might help consumers who want better battery life to plump for the TSMC if that has a significantly better battery life as these tests confirm.

I could see Apple selling the iPhone 7 as 'TSMC Inside' or 'Samsung Inside'. If you want battery life, go for the TSMC. If you want more power, gun for the Samsung. Either way, I'm looking forward to the iPhone 7, particularly if it retains the iPhone 5 form factor.

I cannot see this happening.

And the iPhone 5 form factor will not be repeated.

I stopped reading at "a reddit..." .

An ass backward way of reporting.. Mac Rumors sites "Engadget said" and Engadget sites "Reddit user's said".. so we are to create a negative mantra around the word Samsung because a report, references a report which references a users post on reddit. OMG FACT
You can thank Wikipedia's "citation needed" for that. It's too hard to know things, so it's good enough to know someone else said it first...

Easy enough to fix-- just make a webpage, say your Samsung based phone lasts 34.6% longer, and link to it.

I hope NO Samsung in the iPhone 7 .... :( must wait 11.5 Months :(
Hey don't worry man. If this gets enough press and puts the pressure on Apple, they will come out with a "battery gauge" update in no time that will fix you right up! :)

But fast is the 6S :) ok i wait and dream every night from long battery life :eek:

This will absolutely happen. This is absolutely what Apple will do. This will in no way confuse any consumer. I'm sure there will be a price difference of 50 cents between the two models. This will in no way complicate ordering.:eek:o_O

Perhaps the most dramatic result comes from a reddit poster

MacRumors gets its information from anonymous people on the Internet who likely just made stuff up.

We all know it will not ...... but I hope Apple release a software fix. I think it's possible by lowering the CPU core voltage as low as possible or down clocking. :D

So when I buy my iPhone from my local service provider, is there a way to identify right then what type of processor?
Is there something in the barcode that will tell?

I'm pretty sure this is all water under the bridge, and that with a few more reliable benchmarks, the score will be pretty much even.

Well, I meant the iPhone 5 size, not so much the form factor.

I don't think I'm alone in wishing for an iPhone with the portability and ease of one-handed use of the iPhone 5.

Maybe Apple will sell a TSMC iPhone 7 as the flagship, and a Samsung iPhone 7 $100 cheaper if you don't need the extra battery life.

One way to make a fast buck in this day and age:

1) Take any two iPhones, with something different about them. Set up a test of some kind, and subtly change something in one of the two phones so that you get a noticeable variation in the test. Be creative -- facts aren't important.

2) Produce a semi-decent quality video and post in on YouTube. Then promote it on enthusiast sites.

3) Profit from all the hits.

The one common denominator is that the producers of these videos, from bending to blending, have made real money from the commotion they created. Which is why I don't watch them.
