So according to that list there is no new iPod Touch ?

And what app are they using to look at the installer app contents ?

Every time I open it with packager or XCode it crashes on me.

Right click in finder. Show Package Contents.

Or once you have installed the beta, you can just follow the same path in your System folder to the plist.

I want a redesign but I want the screen size to stay the same

Same here. As long as it's not bigger than 4" it's welcome. However, what I'm also saying is that the iPhone 4 design isn't bad by all means - it's still better than any other smartphone on the market.

Regardless whether there is a redesign or not, the new iPhone is going to be the best smartphone on the planet with the specs bump and iOS 5 + iCloud.

When do you guys in Australia usually get the new releases?

You're lucky you have Apple stores! We don't have any :p I'll probably pre-order it online but not sure when that'll be available

I'm not going to go to the Apple Store even though we have them...no point. It's easier to just pre-order online.

Seriously guys, if Apple is going to release an iPhone 5 and it's been such a guarded secret, do you think it it would show up in a beta iTunes? Besides, I don't see any new iPods. I think the 4S is a teaser and the iPhone 5 and any new iPods will be in the final iTunes release...at least I hope so.

There is no "4S" icon in the latest version of iTunes.

Unless you have personally looked into the resource files I'd be leery arn.

Guessing because it'll look like the CDMA version.

I understand that but this kind of started with apple insider posting this image :

It states it is the icon for the iPhone 4S in iTunes. When in fact that icon does not say "4S"

Good point.
It would be nice if they could show us the file path, where they found those pics, but i'm guessing that they just picked the iPhone 4 CDMA version.

Also, i highly doubt Apple would release any iPhone 5 info, on an iTunes beta especially this close to the launch.

I'm not sure about the icon, but the iPhone 4S reference is definitely there.

- iPhone 4S
- Same form factor as iPhone 4
- CDMA and GSM in one phone
- HSPA+ (at least 14.4mbps)
- 1GB RAM
- A5 Processor
- SGX 543MP2 (same as iPad)
- Assistant Voice Recognition

Well, that's that. If that's what the new iPhone turns out to be, I'll be perfectly happy.

Think to yourselves people, the iPhone 4 design is better than any of the teardrop mockups we've seen. The larger display will simply reduce the pixel density, AND make it harder to hold. I have a SGS2 and the iPhone 4 is so much more comfortable.

Sure, if Apple makes a new design, it will be great (better than the mockups), but if they retained the iPhone 4 design and have the specs bump, plus iCloud and Assistant, this is still the best smartphone on the market, and the one to buy.
I totally agree. That's enough to make me happy. I don't care about a new form factor or a bigger screen. That would be a hell of an upgrade from the 3GS I have now.

The 4S entry uses the CDMA icon. There is no icon labeled "4s".

Not gonna lie, but the only people who will buy a phone that measures more than 4" are the people who have never owned one.

I OWN the Galaxy S2. I can tell you right now that I will never buy a phone bigger than 4" again. You CAN'T hold it properly. Again I will say this - if the iPhone 4S appears with no redesign, I wouldn't be any less than happy at the thought the screen size has been kept constant.

Feel free to downvote - you'll realize how wrong you are when you buy your Nexus Prime and you can't even slide down the Notifications Bar from the top with your thumb because you can't reach it.

I bet you didn't own it. Initially I thought it was OK, but then I realized it's far too big and has a lot of inconveniences, the biggest one being the inability to easily slide down the notifications bar from the top with one hand.

I've owned an HD2, a ZTE Blade and an LG Optimus 2x. I didn't have a problem holding any of them. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean other people won't. It's all about personal preference.

I haven't found it either, and I'm looking at iTunes released yesterday.

Where?

With the iTunes beta installed, go to /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Library/MobileDevices.bundle/Contents/Info.plist

Try sliding down the notifications bar on your HD2, then try sliding down iOS 5's Notification Center on the iPhone 4. Tell me which one is more comfortable.

You are right it's there! I was looking in the resources file and only found the older iPhones and icons.
