Last season we left Debra Morgan wondering if her soul was going to burn in hell. Tonight, the last and final season premier, we see if the dark passenger has gained another convert...

It's getting pretty weak. The best way I can think to describe it at this point is a car that's started crashing and I just want to see the dust settle.

The story?

IMO, the best the show had to offer was Seasons 1 and 2. Some people liked Season 5 and the Trinity killer. Ehh, it was ok. In the Dexter experience last season was pretty mediocre except that Deb discovered who Dexter is. And so far last night's episode was a pretty good direction. Like you most of my interest is to see how this story is finished.

Spoilers for those that missed season 5!

I agree, first two were great, rest was mediocre. When trinity killed Rita I was so angry but at this point it's all just kind of a joke. He just can't be that good at getting away with it over and over and over. He should know better than to stab a wanted felon in a sleazy motel room in front of his sister. What a joke.

The question in my mind right now is, does Deb die? Are they going to take her character so far on the "downward spiral" that she can't be redeemed and her death sends Dexter fully over the edge? I really have no idea at this point what they are going to do. There are so many possibilities.

I was wondering if Deb gets screwed up so badly, she kills Dexter?! Or maybe Deb & Dexter go all Natural Born Killers on us...:eek:

I'd think Deb could succumb to suicide based on her condition now, but **spoiler based on photos JC tweeted on-set and her filming tweets** they both survive until the final episode at least, possibly even the final scene.

I would expect no less, although I would have been shocked as hell if she offed herself. :D

I believe last night was Deb's low. When she confessed to Quinn it was like holy ****! I'm wondering if Dr. Vogel is telling Dexter the whole truth about her being stalked.

Starting to wonder if Vogel is the true killer. The season is going rather slowly, but that's typical Dexter.

Well, my prediction turned out to be right although the show went in a more extreme direction. Didn't think she'd actually die, of course. That twist turned the season around a bit!

Some people are saying she killed Harry, but I really hope they stop messing with the story with those sort of unnecessary twists.

Interesting... I think in a way she did.

I think I got my answer to my question regarding Vogel last night. But that ending was rather fantastic!

The plot thickens and gets more complicated... Deb is recovering. Hanny is back and the young tutor is hard to control. I wonder how Dexter will deal with this? The real problem is that Dexter has bought into the "code". The kid just wants the thrill. I see serious problems ahead! :D

I was not expecting what happened last night (8/18). Zach- first I disliked him, then liked, then disliked, liked, now... eh, it's all academic. :p

Anyone here rooting for Dexter and Hannah to go live happily ever after in Boliva (I forget which country exactly)? Or does Dexter deserve a dark ending? I think part of it boils down to do you believe Dexter to be a good or bad guy? What about Deb? A discussion was held about the positive priorities in Dexter's life to possibly over come his dark passenger urges. While these terms are all in the eye of the beholder, I'd actually prefer that the show have a "happy" vs "tragic" ending. I'm expecting the worst, but hoping it will be epic. :)

The "brain surgeon killer" still being in play is quite a surprise and they are really casting some suspicion on Quinn. I'm glad they wrapped up the Zach thing. Dexter having an apprentice is who is as much of a moron as they portrayed the kid to be is quite over the top. It's going to be a very interesting ending for sure.

I remember someone here posting a spoiler, stating the zack would get kill in episode 8, hannah 9, and Nikki in episode 10. Dammit how would they know:( I hope they don't kill hannah.

You May Consider This Speculation a Spoiler!

At first I thought Zach was a loose cannon and a direct threat to Dexter's anonymity, but that was not the first time he has taken on suedo-partners in crime. When he has a partner, his exposure goes up exponentially. But in Zach's case that is no longer an issue.

Don't say that. :p I like Quinn, but one of the usual ploys in a story like this is to pick the person you least suspect... That's how I picked the bad guy in this season's The Killing. Based on that, it could be Quinn. I would say at this point due to the series ending, there are good odds the culprit is no longer some new disposable character, but someone we are familiar with. Using that criteria, unfortunately I'd least suspect Deb... I could be completely out in left field with this, but would some usual bad guy or someone we know provide the most shock for a series ending?

Anyone have any angles on how the occipital lobe (the Brain Surgeon's harvest) and the connection to Dr. Vogel would point at anyone in particular? Maybe Dexter is not the only psycho in the family that his Father sought help with... but then wouldn't Dexter know about that? Well Deb knew nothing of Dexter's hobby. And NO I don't know, just speculating...

How does Quinn go from being a schmuck who can barely pass a sergeant's exam, to a guy who knows how to perform an intricate surgery on a person (albeit dead).
